Problems saving changes to roster

I loaded the game and saw that 2k updated the roster. So I go thru each team and find that some players are missing and are on the FA list. I proceed to add the players to their respective teams, change jersey numbers, accessories, etc... save the created changes to a file I named new roster. I restart the game, and load the file and none of the player changes saved. What gives?

I have no problem saving a roster, on the contrary it's annoying that every move within a roster is saved automatically.
How did you name your roster file? If it's named like the default roster file it's possible that the game downloaded the actual roster and replaced your roster file. Or did you use any mods/tools to turn autosave off?

Auto save is on. I was always told to give the file a different name when saving it, ex... roster 1 or roster 2. That's what I did. Go into the game and load it, and the missing players I added to their correct teams were back in the FA pool. It's frustrating, to say the least.
