I'm using base jump shot 32 with release 14. I could use some tips on this though, as the timing seems... erratic? I can't consistently hit green on the timing feedback. Would it be because of V-Sync...?
Is Ray Allen still the best / easiest jump shot release?

CYZLAK, PC or console version? I've had that erratic issue as well and I believe it changes based on when and where you start your shot. For instance, shooting off a stationary dribble and catch and shoot have subtle, but different timings. I bet being wide open or having any shot contender may influence the timing result as well, even though they have a graphic for it in the feedback.

SR: Arenas
SB: 17

Release: 1
Base: 22
Nothing more beautiful than MJ's jumper imo.

Yeah PC. I thought it might be due to V-Sync as I remember that affected dribbling moves last year. I've switched to Ray Allen's jumper and I'm doing much better, although for the most part the sweet spot seems to be later than it usually is

i say its all up to what works for you i used to use 13/7 but i now find as i get better i like a more faster smoother release
now i use
23 release
7 base
for a high smooth release and it doesn't have that load and shoot animation like cocking a gun its more of a constant smooth action it works for me.

For me I would say: Nash's release and Base 35? I think that's it. Really great looking shot with an easy release. What more could ya ask for?

Jump shot impression really depends on personal feel. If you like quick release, smooth and medium long or longer one.
SB I like: 3, 17, 22, 25, 31, 35, CP3
SR: LeBron, Kobe, Bosh, 75, CP3
I'm currently using CP3 SR and SB. Other combinations I like: Lebron SR + 17 SB, Bosh SR + 31 SB,

Release 73 base 25 is the best for me
Sun Oct 21, 2012 1:10 am
Created a 6'1 PG. So i needed good lift and a high release. Changed it a couple of times already. Settled with Base 7 and Release 29.
It takes a lil bit too much time til the ball is released imo but i get blocked less.
Does anyone has a good combination for a fast shot with a high vertical and release?
Sun Oct 21, 2012 2:22 am
Look for a quick release where the ball goes from the hip to the top of the head and releases with not much delay. Then cycle through the set shots. They have a very small margin for error but you aren't going to get blocked much because your shot will release quicker than the defender can get in the air to swat it.

Release 6
Jump shot 23
something like D-Wade...

What's your setting that you use?
Mon Oct 22, 2012 5:13 am
I always look for a similar shot to what my actual jumper looks like, but the problem is when I shoot 3 pointers I don't elevate much with a very quick release, but when I'm shooting midrange I hold the ball a bit longer and jump even higher and get twice as much elevation as I do on my 3 pointers (that's because people usually guard you a lot closer as you get closer to the hoop so you need to jump higher to get more space and get your shot release off)
Has anyone found a way to actually have two separate releases, one for outside shooting and one for midrange inside ??
this is me shooting 3's in this clip, I was messing around and doing free throw 3's as well just for kicks, I don't actually shoot set shots in real games
Mon Oct 22, 2012 11:15 am
That ball flat?
If I recall correctly, Paul Pierce had a different 3pt shot than midrange jumper in previous 2k's.
Mon Oct 22, 2012 6:38 pm
^ the ball my vid ? no its a top flite spalding....
but yea i do remember Pierce's 3 point release being very awkward in 2K12...
I would shoot 3's with little elevation and a quick release, and midrange with lots of elevation and a higher and longer release

what is ray allen shot base and form in nba2k13
Tue Nov 20, 2012 2:10 pm
Really like Monta Ellis shooting form with Kobe's shooting base. Seems some what quick with good lift and a bit of a fadaway.
Tue Nov 20, 2012 2:36 pm
I used Ray Allen's form with Gerald Wallace's base. Love it.
