Farewell Toronto, Hello Austin!
The Toronto fans are not going to be happy, now that their team is gone.
One of the biggest citys in America that is missing a NBA team, Austin, has now going to have one from the start of this season, as Michael Dell has bought the Toronto Raptors, and moved the team to Texas. While the fans of the Raptors are depressed, the new fans of the Austin Ballers are thrilled to see NBA action in their hometown.
However, judging the roster it will have, things are not looking pretty. The NBA has stated that the Ballers can sign one player from the Raptors, and build the whole team up from free agency. That player has already confirmed to be Kyle Lowry.
The roster for the new team looks like this:The Ballers will debut in their first home game against the Houston Rockets.
- Kyle Lowry 6`0 / #3 / PG
- Michael Redd 6`6 / #22 / SG
- Terrence Williams 6`6 / #55 / SF
- Kenyon Martin 6`9 / #2 / PF
- Andray Blatche 6`11 / #7 / C

Ballers hit the floor; players feel confident
Leandro Barbosa showing off the away uniform for the Ballers
With the new arena being ready in Austin, the Ballers went in for their first practise. It turned out to be a promising one, as the press got a look at the new kits, and already saw how the team is going to be, during the season. Some people were saying that Kyle Lowry will lead the team to the playoffs, while others thought that Michael Redd and his act for scoring will be a key. Coach Ian Simmons had a different idea.
"To me, the player who will impact the most, will be the player, who can impact the game not only scoring wise, but more of a team play wise. This is the first time these guys play together, and who can build the team into one, will be the main leader, who everybody will look up to." However, he did throw some hints out that Lowry is still the most skilled one. "At this moment, Kyle is the one who I got my hopes up. Though, I want everyone in this team to work their buts off."
Home kit will be white, shown by Lowry himself
Well, they better be ready for a battle, as nothing in the NBA comes easy. First game on Sunday against the Rockets.

Lowry wins the Austin debut!
Asik had 7 offensive rebounds - including this putback
It would seem that it for a new team, having a superstar right from the start is a long shot.
Well, the Ballers got a gift with Kyle Lowry. The game started off with Houston holding the lead, but Austin being right on their tail. A Texas battle it seemed, as neither team wanted to go too far from the other. The big scoring of Kevin Martin always held the game in a 2 point lead for the Rockets, and with Jeremy Lin and Patrick Patterson doing their thing, Houston had no problem responding to every bucket.
Until the forth quarter. Lowry had played great already, but he picked it up so bad, taking over the scoring load. While he did his thing, he had the full support of his team, as players like Terrence Williams and Michael Redd chipped in aswell. But the real thing that decided the game....
And with that, the Austin Ballers won their debut game, 88-86.
Top 5 for: Austin - Houston
