NBA 2K13 PSP ROSTERS - What the heck??!!

Hello Everyone - This is my first time on this site. I am so glad I found it. I only have a PS Vita and an old PSP - and NBA games are all I play. I was so frustrated that NBA 2K13 did not come out on Vita since that is the main reason I bought the Vita - so I went to download the PSP version onto the Vita yesterday (Oct 2 was the release date in the USA) and the game isnt available for download. I even contacted Sony and 2K Sports because I was so frustrated - but couldnt get any answers.
I gave up and bought the Hard Copy PSP Version and popped it into my old PSP last night - And there are NO ROOKIES IN THE GAME!!!! What the heck?! Why not?! There ARE rookies on the PS3 and XBOX versions - I checked.
Last year for 2K12 I understood that there werent rookies because of the lockout and that was for all the systems - But why NO ROOKIES for NBA 2K13 PSP Version???!!!
I am so frustrated!
Is there anyone out there that can help? Last year I tried so hard to find somewhere I could download updated NBA 2K12 PSP Rosters so I could have rookies but it never happened --- Is there a way I can get updated rosters for 2K13 PSP Version? --- or even getting updated rosters including the rookies for this year on the 2K12 Version for PSP or the dowloadable PSP version for Vita would be better than what I have now!!

Their decision not to release the game on Vita is a strange one and certainly disappointing for people like yourself. I don't think they've ever given a solid reason for it, they'e just confirmed it wasn't coming out on Vita when asked.

As for why there aren't any rookies, I'm not sure as I can't think of any good reason why they wouldn't be included. I'd suggest the PSP version has become an afterthought, which again is certainly unfortunate for gamers like you. Does the PSP version have Create-a-Player? If so, that'd be the only way of adding rookies to the game.

You are correct about the PSP Version being an absolute afterthought - it is literally the exact same game as 2K12 for PSP except almost all of LAST YEAR'S ROOKIES are included because of course because of the lockout they werent in last year's game (Kyrie Irving, Kembe Walker, etc) ...

I'm shocked there is even a PSP version. I guess this means the Wii version probably has no rookies either.

With such limited creation modes, there's not really much you can do except create the five most prominent rookies and make any transactions involving existing players yourself. That's all anyone could do, which is probably why you're not seeing a whole lot of PSP roster updates this year or last.

Thank You so much, Andrew. (Benji - I think you are correct. No one seems to care very much at all about the PSP version so I shouldnt be surprised that 2K Sports didnt want to spend $ to create a Vita version.)

Andrew / All - So are you saying that any roster updates for ANY system (PS3, XBOX or PSP) are all restricted to the amount of players you can create in the game? I guess I thought the actual manufacturer (in this case 2K Sports) puts out the Roster Updates that you guys are discussing on these message boards for PS3 and XBOX, and therefore there arent any restrictions on changes they could make to the rosters - and I was hoping the same would be true for NBA 2K 13 PSP version if there was a Roster Update. If all a Roster Update would entail is some other gamer creating players - then ya, I could do that myself anyway.

Just to be clear, is that what you are saying? That a Roster Update is just some other gamer making the changes to the rosters more accurate available to other gamers?

I spoke to 2K Sports Tech Support and the guy said I was the first person to call in asking about PSP and no one had complained about the lack of rookies in that game (PSP Version) but he'd got calls about Will Barton not being in the PS3 version, but when the NBA season started I'd be able to download updated rosters for the PSP Version???!!! I asked what site would have these updated rosters, and he said I'd need to call them back when the season started??!! I dont think he is correct about any of that and just wanted to give me an answer but really he didnt know.

***Last Question - Does anyone know where I can get NBA 2K13 PSP Codes / Cheats? Maybe the codes have some rookies I can "unlock". I doubt it though...

With the PC and Xbox 360 versions, we've been able to develop tools that allow us to do more (more so the PC version), going a little beyond what the game provides. Unfortunately we can't do that stuff with the PS3 and PSP versions, which are limited to the in-game creation and roster management modes.

Yes, unofficial roster updates are just your fellow gamers creating players, making trades and the like.

I don't know about any official updates for the PSP version. The PC, 360 and PS3 versions will be receiving them as usual, with the first one currently slated to come out next week sometime.

Just to note, the Wii version does not have the rookies either. Nor the Dwight trade.

Does have a Rodman challenge as part of NBA Greatest.
