Hi, I'm David Aldridge and welcome to NBATV where the Seattle Supersonics will take on the Portland Trailblazers in a back-to-back series matchup. The Supersonics stoled a victory last night over the Portland Trailblazers in Key Arena. Rashard Lewis led the team with 25 pts and 12 rebs. Seattle held the Blazers off in the 4th quarter, as they made a run to comeback and win the game. Seattle ended the game with a 93-90 win. Ray Allen also chipped in with 24 pts. Jerome James had a double-double with 15 pts and 10 rebs. Stoudamire led the Blazers with 28 pts and 8 asts. We are here with Antonio Daniels, the Seattle Supersonics PG.

ImageAntonio Daniels

Aldridge: How are you today Antonio?

Daniels: I'm doing great how are you?

Aldridge: I'm just fine. Thanks for asking. Tell me what happened last night in your against the Blazers. Your team went 0-21 from 3 point range and you almost let the Blazers comeback and steal one in Seattle.

Daniels: It was a matter of not taking care of business. Coach told us what we had to do, but we just didnt execute well enough. It was a bad team effort for us at the end of the game, but we are ready for tonight and I'm pretty sure that won't happen again. As for our shooting woes, that was just horrible. I couldn't believe my eyes after I looked at the stat sheet after the game. We really worked hard on our long range shots at the morning practice. We will work harder tonight.

Aldridge: I've notice that you we're in the starting lineup a few times so far in the season. Do you like the roll of being a starter, or coming off the bench?

Daniels: Well I can't really say. I love both roles, because sometime they will need me off the bench. Our bench production hasn't been all that great so far in the season and we need as much help as we can get off the bench. Last night I came off the bench and did pretty well. The bad thing is our bench only had 13 pts. In my opinion, the only thing you do as a starter is play alongside with the other starters. So I would say both roles fit me best.

Aldridge: Do you know how Coach McMillan will fit Ridnour, Murray, and yourself in the lineups?

Daniels: He really doesn't know what he is going to do yet. He had a meeting with all 3 of us a couple of days ago and he told us that 'we all are great guards and will help the team out well, I just need to see how I'm going to give you all playing time'. So far he has been putting Murray at the SG off the bench. The thing is, Ridnour and myself will have to find a way to share time. So far, we have been doing good because it all depends on what type of lineup we have in the game.

Aldridge: Here's one more question about tonight's game. You all held Zach Randolph to 7 pts in your previous meeting. Do you think he will try to be more selfish tonight so he can be more of a threat? And how will you all plan on stopping him tonight?

Daniels: We already talked about that in the locker room. It's not going to be easy, because he is already mad that we put him on lockdown last night. I know that he will come out more focus and will want more touches on the offensive end. We will stick to our same game plan as we did last night. Hopefully it will work the same way as it did last night (laughs).

Aldridge: (laughs) Alright, thank you for your time and good luck in tonight's game.

Daniels: Thank you.

Daniels hit two 3 pointers in the triple overtime.

NOVEMBER 8, 2003

SEATTLE, WA (AP)-This game was possibly the best game of the season and it's only a few weeks into the season. Both teams played their hearts out, and for it to be a back-to-back game for both teams, it really tired them out. The game lasted an entire 3 1/2 hours. "I was so tired man, I felt like I was going to fall out after that game, " Jerome James said after the game.

Ray Allen was able to hit a 3 point shot with 30.1 seconds to tie the game up 101-101 in the 4th quarter. Zach Randolph missed a fadeaway a fadeaway with 11 seconds remaining in regulation. Radmonavic tried to get to the frontcourt, but lost the ball and Darius Miles picked the ball up. He shot a desparation 3 from 30 feet, but missed it. After this, it was alot of havoc in the overtime periods.

Rashard Lewis fouled out with 2:29 remaining and scored 19 pts and grabbed 13 rebs. The game was tied at 113-113 after Allen made a lay-up from a drive to the basket. Allen had the chance to win the game with 7 seconds remaining, but the 18 foot jumper didn't fall. Portland quickly called a timeout with 3 seconds and they tried to lob the ball to Theo Ratliff, but the play feailed and they went into double overtime.

In the double overtime period, both teams we're scoreless in the double overtime until Darius Miles had an easy dunk with 3:15 remaining. Flip Murray hit a baseline jumper with 30.7 seconds to give the Sonics a 119-117 lead. Portland decided to go to Ratliff once again, this time he connected with a jump hook over Calvin Booth to tie the game up 119-119 with 20.6 seconds left in the double overtime. Seattle called a timeout to set up at halfcourt for the last shot of the 2nd overtime. Allen was double teamed as soon as he touched the ball. He couldn't find no one to pass it to. Murray came around the corner and popped up for a game winning shot, but it hit the back of the time and went over the backboard as time expired.

In the triple overtime Derek Anderson fouled out with 3:06 left in the game triple overtime and the Sonics we're up 130-124 after Daniels nailed a jumper to give him 19 pts for the game. Daniels nailed another 3 in the overitme with 2:19 left in the game to keep Seattle up 133-127. He made one earlier in the overtime. Seattle was up 8 with 1:58 remaining, but Stoudamire wasn't giving up as he nailed his 7th 3 pointer in the game. Jerome James nailed 2 FT's with 19.2 seconds left that sealed the game for the Sonics. Seattle won the game in triple overtime 144-140.

The Player of the Game was Ray Allen who had 38 pts, 6 asts and 4 rebs. Brent Barry came off the bench and played big time with 24 pts and 5 rebs. Antonio Daniels started the game and finished with 22 pts and 9 asts. Jerome James got another double-double with 17 pts and 15 rebs. Flip Murray scored 13 pts and dished out 3 asts.

Damon Stouadmire had a game-high 54 pts, 9 rebs and 7 asts. Dan Dickau and Darius Miles had 18 pts apiece. Derek Anderson scored 17 pts before fouling out in the triple overtime. Randolph had a double-double with 10 pts and 11 rebs.

The key stats in this game was that Seattle outrebounded the Blazers an amazing 71-46. The Sonics also dished out 30 asts, while the Blazers only had 17 asts. Seattle's bench outscored the Blazers bench 45-31.

Seattle led by as many as 25 pts in the game, but Portland manage to make a dramatic comeback once again. At the end of the 3rd quarter, the Sonics led 85-75.

Hi, welcome back to NBATV. We have just witness a triple overtime game with the Seattle Supersonics and the Portland Trailblazers. Seattle had several chances to close the game out in regulation, but instead the Blazers played the hardest and sent the game into overtime. The Sonics did end up winning the game, but it took a very long time as the game lasted over 3 hours. I'm here with the Seattle Supersonics guard/ forward Brent Barry. How are you today?

ImageBrent Barry

Barry: Hi, I'm doing fine. Thanks for asking.

Aldridge: How you feel after the game?

Barry: Very tired. I played alot of minutes out there tonight and it was havoc just being out there for so long. It seemed like the game was never going to end.

Aldridge: Well I don't want to hold you up very long because of your long game. How did you team let another deficit slip away once again against the same team?

Barry: You can't even explain it. It was like we tried to do the right thing, but it just never worked out for us. The fact is, Portland hit alot of shots that they shouldn't have hit. We played tight defense on them, but they still managed to get points.

Aldridge: How do you like the new rotation with you coming off the bench as a 6th man?

Barry: I love it. It gives us more depth off the bench and gives Daniels the chance to start. He had a great outing tonight as well at the starting PG position. I will do whatever it takes to get our bench going. I had my best game tonight as I came off the bench.

Aldridge: Last question, because I know you have to go. Do you think your team will get to the goal of 41 games?

Barry: Of course, at first I was kind of hesitant because it was just 2 games into the season. Now that I see how solid we are as a team, I really think we can reach that goal with no problem and even get more wins.

Aldridge: Alright, thanks for talking with me and hope you get some rest.

Barry: Okay, thank you.

Well that wraps up our edition of NBATV on this late Saturday Night. Hope you all have a good night rest. See you later.

Use EA graphics editor. It works perfectly fine. Open the image and just resize it. It may take like 20 seconds but then it will work. Then sharpen it.

SEATTLE, WA (AP)-The Seattle Supersonics and the Miami Heat have 2 of the best records in the league. The Sonics have had a great start this season holding a 5-1 record, while the Heat are being led by Lamar Odom and rookie Dwayne Wade with a 4-1 record. "Both of us have just been taking care of business so far in the season. If you take one game at a time and have a game plan, you will succeed," Coach Stan Van Gundy said.

The Sonics have finally set up a lineup that they will use for the rest of the season, unless an injury occurs during the season. The starters will be: James, Radmanovic, Lewis, Allen and Daniels. "I feel that is the lineup that will lead us to the playoffs this season. Daniels has really shown up in practice and is becoming a great asset to our team," McMillan said. That leaves Brent Barry, Luke Ridnour, Ronald Murray and Calvin Booth to come off the bench, which will give them a much high powered bench. "I love coming off the bench, because it gives me time to focus for the game and I get use to the atmosphere before coming in," Barry said.

As the Miami Heat had a great off-season, they weren't expecting a surprisingly 4-1 start. Dwayne Wade has really shown some heart this season averaging 17.1 ppg and 6 apg for the Heat. Lamar Odom was a great pickup for the Heat last offseason as well. "I really have enjoyed being here in Miami, and I see us doing alot of big things this season," Odom said.

Jerome James has been getting comparisons of a young Shaquille O'neal, but many know that it takes alot to become that. Jerome James stands at 7 foot 1, weighing in at 272 pounds. Shaquille is also 7 foot 1, weighing in at 340 pounds. "I dont know if I can be the next Shaq or not. It's a great idea when you think about it, but I will have to become very dominant," James said. Jerome James has been playing well so far this season averaging a double-double for the Sonics. He just could be the next Shaq.

The throwback uni's we're no help to the Soncis tonight.

By Kenneth F. Bunting

NOVEMBER 9, 2003

SEATTLE, WA (AP)-It was all in a matter of time to see the Sonics be part of a blow out. It was to an Eastern Conference team who has shown signs of becoming an elite team in the East. Seattle never led after a quarter in the game and we're forced to make moves that put them in an uncomfortbale position late in the game.

Ray Allen fouled out in the 4th quarter and none of the Sonics players could get on track shooting wise except Brent Barry and Rashard Lewis. In the 1st quarter, the Sonics we're within' 4 points of the Heat with Barry leading team with 11 pts off the bench.

In the 2nd quarter, Eddie Jones was injured in a collision with Ronald Murray with 7:16 remaining. They reported it was his right leg. He was still playable, but didn't come back until the 2nd half. In the 3rd quarter, Jones made his return and knocked down 7 pts in that quarter to give him a total of 19 pts for the game. Lamar Odom was killing the Sonics with 19 pts as well. Rashard Lewis had 22 pts for the Sonics through 3 quarters, but Seattle still had a 7 point deficit.

Miami outscored Seattle 33-22 in the 3rd quarter which was the turning point of hte game. In the 4th quarter, the Heat made several runs which put them up as much as 28 pts in the game. Seattle didn't have enough fire-power as Allen shot 5-14 from the field only scoring 11 pts. Flip Murray scored 11 pts off the bench, but shot 4-15 from the field.

Seattle couldn't make a run at all, and the Heat finished them off by winning 114-99 in a blowout win in Key Arena. The fans we're very disappointed as there was boo's echoing in the arena. "I felt very bad after that lost. It seemed like we showed no effort at all to make a comeback and it was just a terrible game for us," Ray Allen said.

The Heat shot 31 FT attempts in the game, while the Sonics only had 18 attempts. Lamar Odom was the Player of the Game with 23 pts and 9 rebs. Eddie Jones also put in 23 pts and added 4 asts. Dwayne Wade kept his solid season up with 15 pts and 7 asts. The biggest factor in the game was that Miami shot 62% from the field, while the Sonics shot 40%. "That really hurt us. When a team is unstoppable from shooting the ball and makes over 60% of their shots, you will most likely lose the game," McMillan said. Rasual and Caron Butler both scored 13 pts apiece for the Heat.

Brent Barry had another great game off the bench, scoring 25 pts, grabbed 7 rebs and getting 4 stls. Rashard Lewis scored 23 pts and grabbeed 4 rebs. Jerome James put up 13 pts, but it wasn't enough to help the Sonics overcome the 25 pts deficit.
