Talk about NBA 2K13 here.
Tue Oct 02, 2012 3:19 am
OnlineKeyStore (which among others sells Steam keys which you can use in Steam to add a game to your collection after you've bought it elsewhere) has NBA 2K13 up for pre-order now. Shows up as E22,99 for me, which is the expected price of $30.
I bought Football Manager 2012 from them last year, the Steam key actually, which worked fine. Other users are reporting OKS as being reliable, but your mileage may vary, so don't come at me with pitchforks if something bad happens. Just wanted to let you know.

Did/Will you order a 2K13 key there?
Tue Oct 02, 2012 3:21 am
Already did. They went through fine with my Football Manager 2012 purchase last year, so I have no reason not to trust them, considering what other people I know told me.
It's on pre-order though, so you don't get a key yet. Fingers crossed, we're looking into a release tomorrow.
CONSIDERING YOU DON'T GET A KEY BUT YOUR MONEY IS WITHDRAWN (compared to Amazon that only charges you when the download is available), IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I WON'T BE HELD LIABLE.

Seeing as the closest gamestop with a PC version is 33miles away, I'll jump on this deal as well.

Nice find, thanks man

hope it works well

pacificsmoke, Steam won't have it before 1PM Eastern, and that's IF not all DDs have been pushed back 2 weeks, so it's a risk.
Tue Oct 02, 2012 3:38 am
Thanks Leftos. Definitely going to pre-order. If I get it right, as soon as the game gets released, I put my key in Steam and get able to play.
Tue Oct 02, 2012 3:43 am
xerion, true, and as I said, fingers crossed that the Steam release is tomorrow.

Just out of curiosity, what's the purpose of pre-ordering it for steam? Once Steam activates the game, you're one click away from downloading and playing it anyway, and having it pre-ordered makes no difference?
Just seem kinda silly to me to risk a website that pop ups with warning signs in Firefox for something that can't get you the game 1) earlier or 2) cheaper.

eziquiel, you have a point, thought these sites offered lower prices or whatever. I think Steam had 2K12 up for 30 euros, while this one is up for 23 euros on OKS. Still, since we now know that all DDs have been pushed back to October 16, I've cancelled all my digital pre-orders and I've preordered the retail version October 5.
Stupid move by 2K.

I just left the Steam website, and there's no mention of NBA2K13 being available for d/ld period.

In that page, they say this:
Scanned Image
The Key is sent as a scan of the original retail product from the DVD/CD case. The scan is sent by email as well as kept in your orders archive so you can return to it anytime in the future.
Maybe we can buy the game there.

not sure how this works. so it's a way to add games you bought used to your steam account? is it in essence paying twice for a game?
Tue Oct 02, 2012 2:41 pm
Anyone tried it?
Tue Oct 02, 2012 2:50 pm
its not going to work unless the game is available on steam, so don't bother
Tue Oct 02, 2012 4:26 pm
Yeah, it will work October 16, but until then, there's no point.
I'll cancel my order and save my money for retail.

Just got email notification about the game being able to be downloaded. Doing so now, got key from there as well. Looking good.
Fri Oct 12, 2012 3:02 am
Yeah, it's not a Steam key, they gave up on waiting for Steam and so they bought retail copies and are giving us a printed key. Got one as well.

Ok so I am getting this... An error occurred installing the package. Windows Installed returned '1639'.
EDIT: nvm... renamed the folder and it's working now

Hello,
I got the game/key off onlinekeystore as well. Installed it an hour ago but i have not received an email from 2k just yet to confirm my account. Do i need to contact 2k support or just wait a little more because i can't log online.
EDIT: xerion, Leftos did you guys get an email from 2k? Can you log online?
Fri Oct 12, 2012 4:38 am
Yeah I received it. Just be patient...

I can log in online but haven't tried to play a match yet.

I purchased my key like 15 hours ago, still didn't get it.
Fri Oct 12, 2012 8:08 pm
Yeah, you'll get one in the next batch of retail games they buy to cover the key needs. They're not a DD themselves, so they don't get codes generated for them on-demand. They go out, buy retail, and send you a photo of the code.
That's because of 2K13's late release to DDs (Oct 16). OKS had actually sent me a Steam code when I bought Football Manager 2012 last year.
