Amazon Typo?

Ok well here it says the download for NBA 2K13 will be avaliable on the 16th. I remember a couple weeks ago it said the 2nd, now it says the 16th which is 2 weeks after the release.

It better be a typo, otherwise I'm cancelling my pre-order through them. Strange though how it was the 2nd, and now its moved to the 16th doesn't seem like a typo kind of error.

Yeah, but what would be the reason for Amazon to have DD set for the 16th? Did Steam get a 2-week DD exclusive or something? Doesn't make sense.

Why is the release date for the PC Download version October 16th, while the other versions have October 2nd? Is this a typo?

I chatted with customer service and they confirmed that the available date for the PC download version is October 16th (2 weeks later than the others). She did not have specifics as to why, and she acknowledged that usually the digital version is available the same day as the other versions, but for this one its not the case. I guess we will have to go with the disc version if we want it on release date...

...I just purchased the disc version through Amazon, 6 hours before the free release date shipping ends. Hopefully I will get to raffle that copy off like last year, or better yet, return it unopened because a digital version comes out before it gets here.

Why the hell would the digital distribution version come out 2 weeks later? I hope Steam has an October 2nd release. Is 2K trying to actively get people to pirate the game?

I just said screw it and ordered the box copy and used a $15 credit I had from a previous purchase, but I still won't have have the game until 7:00pm thanks to ups and their wonderful delivery times to my house.

I was going to buy the download even though it meant I couldn't sell it used next year. I'll wait for the box in the store and buy that.

I'm giving LD2k and Ronnie2K who promised to get back on us on that a day or two before cancelling my pre-order. My best guess is that Steam will have it again this year, even if a few hours late like 2K12 last year.

I don't think that cancelling the pre-order is needed. If the game ins't released until October 16, then you won't be charged until that date.

yea, but if Steam is released on Tuesday, we'd want to buy it there and never get the Amazon version.

Anybody know/remember what time Steam got 2k12 up? I'm just debating the whole DD/Physical copy thing. Physical copy wouldn't get here until probably 6pm, I'd sure assume Steam would be up before then, right?

Well, it was around the evening here in Greece. Was it 8, 9pm? 9pm is 2pm Eastern, 11am Pacific, so I'd say yeah, you're getting it before 6pm if you wait for Steam.

1PM Eastern/10AM Pacific. Standard Steam update time. (Unless the publisher sets up a midnight release.)

Thanks for the info benji. Don't think 2K cares enough about the PC crowd to go for a midnight release, so I'll be fine waiting till 8PM.

Last time I've looked at this thread I was going to ask about steam too, its' been answered(or speculated) already.
Gonna buy from steam also, as I did w/ 2K12.

I should note that I was not speaking to what day the Steam version comes out, just responding to when the last couple games went up. Which was the standard Steam 1PM update.

If it has been delayed to the 16th, I can't tell you anything about that.
