nba 2k13 allstar question

Thu Sep 13, 2012 9:09 am

I read this blog kotaku blog http://kotaku.com/5916138/competition-returns-to-the-court-but-nba-2k13-will-stick-to-how-it-plays-the-game
heres a cut from the article

The demonstration closed out with a look at the All-Star Weekend festivities—the preorder incentive that gives you a branded dunk contest, three-point shootout and future stars game, as well as the upcoming All-Star venue and uniforms. This will not take the place of the Blacktop dunk contest and three-point games that have been included on the disc for several years and will come in NBA 2K13 regardless. And if you don't preorder the game, your play-now and career modes will still have an All-Star game, it'll just use the previous year's venue and uniforms (in this case, Orlando's) until the All-Star game is actually played and 2K gets permission to patch in the new skins. The preorder bonus is also for all preorders; it's not tied to a specific retailer.

my question if you don't preorder you can still the allstar an the dunk contest an the 3 point contest for quick an myplayer but if you preorder you just only getting the updated skins early until the allstar game is played which on pc we probably can find it hidden like the jerseys

I really had a hard time understanding what part was the question and what part was a statement.

Just to be clear then:
- The All-Star Game and Rookie Challenge are still in for everyone, as well as the Blacktop Dunk Contest and 3-PT Shootout.
- The All-Star branded Dunk Contest and 3-PT Shootout are pre-order exclusive.
- Also pre-order exclusive are the updated venue and uniforms, which the rest of us will get only after the All-Star weekend is actually done with.

Whatever pre-order content is actually on the disc, should be pretty easy to unlock, unless 2K has gone to encryption or made this part of some new kind of Online Data that is tied to your 2K/XBL/PSN account.

We won't know until we get our hands on the game.

"Hidden like the jerseys"? 2K has removed any hidden uniforms from the PC version since 2K10. And then fails to patch them in during the patching phase, so technically the PC version has never had "hidden" uniforms (accurate uniforms, the old stuff they forget to remove doesnt count).

If you preorder the game, for the Xbox 360 or PS3 you get those modes for the game. If you don't, you can't play them until 2K releases it as a paid DLC later in the season.
Officially, the PC version is not getting the preorder, or any DLC. Officially the PC version of NBA 2K13 will not have the Dunk Contest or anything else. The community might be able to change that, but we don't know if that will or won't happen.

While some might find the implementation trivial, or a souped-up Quicktime event, bear in mind just how freaking hard the Blacktop Dunk Contest is with the analog stick. I can barely get the gather correct.

People should really stop saying things are hard just because they suck at it.

The feeling of satisfaction after finally learning to do some impressive dunks with the old concept was more than whatever this concept will ever give anyone.

It's stupid to go just for the Guitar Hero concept, and please JUST the casual crowd, when they had the code for the old controls and could just put it in as an alternative.

If difficulty was a concern, they could've simplified the concept they already had in place. I didn't like 2K's dunk contest controls as much as I did NBA Live's, but I'd rather master something like that as opposed to the Guitar Hero concept.
