PC version has been much cheaper anyway. 2K is probably thinking that any higher and they wouldn't be selling enough units on the PC. Who knows?
There are shortcomings that come with the lower price, such as the insubstantial support, the patch coming way too late (although I'm thinking that's due to the amount of Digital Distributors they're going with), intolerable online, and some features (such as Custom Arena Sounds & all DLC) never hitting the PC.
Then again, you get all the modding on the PC (and you can get a better framerate if you have a PC that's good enough), which for me have made up for all the shortcomings above, so I'm sticking with that.
Downloading it from Amazon is like downloading it from Steam. It downloads and installs to your PC and you can play it without worrying about a disc. Plus, it's easily redownloadable and reinstallable on any PC you go to, without having to carry around the disc and being asked about activation again. You can't play your copy at 2 PCs at the same time, that much is obvious, but you can play it at one PC at a time without a disc.
