Talk about NBA 2K13 here.
Sat Sep 08, 2012 4:34 pm
I watch this and I will try to make your plays in NBA Live 08. I have no NBA 2k12 im only researching for the moves and plays of a team.
Sat Sep 08, 2012 5:28 pm
What plays you are using in this video? Isolations and ?? .. I will try it to my NBA Live 08 just give me some ideas in the plays.
Sat Sep 08, 2012 6:24 pm
athozoan did not make this video. IGN did. And they probably used basically no plays.
Sat Sep 08, 2012 8:12 pm
Ahh.. Okay, Just give me some ideas on the plays can you?

Here's the Lakers play - give the ball to Kobe.

Is it just me or do the jerseys look shinny? Which is not at all how the new adidas jerseys are.

As a console user that's one of the first things I noticed, it's horrid. It's like they went all MTV Pimp My Scoreboard on it, the menu's being like that is fine, don't take that crap in to the game? The music bar drop out for the score change, really?

Dorish Burke ish back.

Hahaha. Thats funny! But Im playing in NBA Live 08 only. Is there any difference in the plays?

jyap18, this is for 2K13 discussion. If you want to talk about Live 08 we do have a forum that you are aware of for that game. Of course plays have changed since Live 08, but I don't understand how or what you think you could accomplish with your continued asking of that.

As most of you have noted, the gameplay looks pretty similar to NBA 2K12. That's not necessarily a terrible thing, I thought 2K12 played a bit better than it looked and with the new right stick controls, I'm anticipating that I'll find 2K13 even more enjoyable. I expect it'll play a pretty good game of basketball but whoever's playing the game here doesn't seem to be running any plays and is probably playing on casual sliders and an easy difficulty level, which doesn't offer much of a preview for those of us looking to set up and play the game a different way. Videos are good to see, but can't beat hands on experience. Bring on the demo.

Are u sure this is nba 2k13?
Mon Sep 10, 2012 9:39 am
I'm gonna have to play this myself to determine whether I'm gonna like it or not!!

Indeed

Ok i watched this one mre time. See no difference beetwen this and 2k12. Ok one thing, more fun with dribling- but hey one year work on this game and we get only one new thing in control?!
If i get the same multi issues im almost sure that i'll not buy 2k13, stay with modded 2k12. Andrew i dont think its low difficulty level. Poor %, miss alleys, miss passes/steals

Problem is we don't really know what sliders and tendencies they were using, I'm assuming it was default, but you never know.
Mon Sep 10, 2012 7:48 pm
skoadam, you may not see much difference in how it looks, but what matters the most is how it PLAYS once you get your hands on it. Who cares if it looks the same? If once you get the controller you can feel all the changes in dribbling, sig skills making a difference and the adaptive AI, it will all be worth it, gameplay-wise.
That's why I tend not to be too let down or excited over gameplay videos. There's things in preview videos that I never managed to pull off in any 2K (heh, picking the Pistons doesn't help), and there's things that I only realize how improved they are when I finally play the game.

Full understand, its all true. But hey i still see the same issue. Sliding? Yes. Bumping players?Yes. No AI? Yes. Look a like 2k12? Yes. Probably unplayable multi for pc?Yes, four years no multi-this is normal? We(as coummunity) still need to fix all year long game which we must pay for. They put on new menus, dribling control and thats almost all they did in..one year. From year to year its starts looking like EA did over years. Maybe im to old, maybe im to much pesimistic, so no offence.
Demo will be avaible?
Mon Sep 10, 2012 8:05 pm
Will most probably be for the consoles, don't see why not.
I saw some sliding as well, but you have to admit that the bumping is really improved. You can't compare those lengthy 2K12 2-player bumping animations to the ones that that video showed, which were (for the most part) quick collision animations. As for the AI, they say they have improved it, but we'll see. Half-court AI has always been an issue for 2K, but if you mostly run plays or set a screen when a play breaks, the game plays pretty well. When we got hold of vanwolfhawk's playbooks and Albys and HAWK implemented them in their rosters, the game was a whole new other game. If the AI has been worked well enough to take advantage of the new plays system and new game mechanics such as Sig Skills, bounce-pass, etc, it should be a pretty satisfying experience.
Again, I feel that you're giving Signature Skills too little credit. I feel they're going to change many aspects of the game. How you strategize on the floor, what player you pick to sign or trade (mid-overall but with 3 important sig skills? GIMME), and we've yet to see a lot of the diaries and videos. There's still time to impress even the likes of you.

Yes, 2K should be paying more attention to things like that, I agree. But I'll be buying a very good basketball game for just 22 euros, and with the help of the community I'll soon be making it a great game.

E3 gameplay looked much better, really dont like this video at all, hope it a older build than E3, cause it doesnt look or seem to play the same
Tue Sep 11, 2012 5:52 am
Definitely not an older build than E3. This is most probably final code.
