NBA MVP Race: November/December

Image
As of now LeBron James is sitting on the top of this race. After winning his first title, the King is more dominant than before. Leading the Miami Heat to the best record in the league and in dominating effort as they started the season with a 14 games winning streak. James also leads the league in points per game. If he continues this "God-like" performance then his fourth MVP is in the bag.

Image
It is hard to put Kevin Durant in the no.2 spot especially when he is having another great season. The Oklahoma City Thunder is the second best team in the league and with Durant leading that young team. Durant's defense has also improved a lot. He should be on the top of this list, he only needs a more dominant season on you know who.

Image
Not as great statistics as the two players above him but Rajon Rondo is no.3 on this list because of how good he is handling the aging Boston Celtics. The Celtics are currently on a 11 games winning streak beating the Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat in the process. Rondo is leading the league in assists per game as a result almost 7 players on the Celtics is averaging double figures in scoring. The Celtics season depends on how long Rondo will take them.

Image
As of now LeBron James is sitting on the top of this race. After winning his first title, the King is more dominant than before. If he continues this "God-like" performance then his fourth MVP is on the bag. Now Bosh is putting up numbers similar to when he was with the Toronto Raptors.

Image
Kobe Bryant has been struggling this season and showing signs of slowing down but that might change with the recent acquisitions of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. Why? In their first game together against the Portland Trailblazers they won by 42 points, in which Bryant scored 36 points (14-18). His scoring average will go up this season but his MVP ranking might not.

Image
Russell Westbrook is obviously another reason why the Oklahoma City Thunder is great this season. He could have cracked in the top 5 of this list but he do have some ugly games this season. His jump shot still needs some work and his playmaking ability too. But we all know Westbrook is not your typical pointguard, as long as the team is winning no one should really be complaining on his style.

Image
The numbers above is when Dwight Howard was with his former team the Orlando Magic. Pretty good number for the leading candidate for DPOY. But how will he play as the second option of the Los Angeles Lakers behind Kobe? On his first game he tallied 30 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Now his numbers might go down with Kobe jacking up all the shots but he is more happy to get all the putbacks. His ranking might go up higher than Kobe though.

Image
Josh Smith is having some nice all around stats especially on the defensive end. Now he have a nice case for the DPOY award. His outside shots are still not that consistent though but his performance is the reason why the Atlanta Hawks is having a nice start. If the rumors of Joe Johnson being shopped then without doubt his statistics will rise soon.

Image
Ty Lawson is having a great season especially when the he is leading the Denver Nuggets on the 2nd spot on the Western Conference. With the recent acquisition of Andre Iguodala the Nuggets are now one scary team. Certainly they will make some noise in the league especially when the playoffs comes.

Image
John Wall could be on this list but we option to put Greg Monroe of the Detroit Pistons. Monroe is more important on his team especially with players he currently have. Pistons fans rejoice for now as you have a chance on making the playoffs.

Outside Looking: John Wall (Washington Wizards), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Blake Griffin (LA Clippers), Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls), Roy Hibbert (Indiana Pacers)

I really believe Rondo will be a wildcard, it would be great if he could get that MVP.

17 - 12 is pretty cool.
But # 1 TO per game that sucks.

Wizards Acquired Delfino and Terry

Postby dare on Fri Aug 31, 2012 9:19 pm

Report: Wizards Acquired Delfino and Terry

ImageImage

WASHINGTON -- The Washington Wizards welcomed two new players, Carlos Delfino and Jason Terry.

Delfino was the first to sign as he has agreed to a 1yr/1.35M contract. Delfino last played for the Milwaukee Bucks and averaged 9 point per game in 17 minutes of playing time. Delfino has been a free agent until now.

After that the Wizards unload defensive swingman Chris Singleton and scoring guard Jordan Crawford for the Dallas Mavericks veteran. Terry lately express that he is unhappy with the Mavericks who averaged only 8 points per game this season. The Wizards will also receive a future 1st round pick in this trade.

Re: Dare's Wizards Association |Team Breakdown

Postby dare on Sun Sep 02, 2012 3:00 pm

My Team Breakdown

These are my personal thoughts on the players of my team. Sort of a scouting reports.

John Wall – He is great in transition offense, although I’m struggling on a half court set up with him. It’s really difficult for me especially with his limited range, might need to improve his midrange jumpshot. Currently he is untouchable.

Nene – For some reason when I’m playing the game I can’t involve him in the offense. He mainly scores put backs on me. His always injured too, I might move him soon.

Ersan Ilyasova – Fits perfectly to the team, he is the stretch PF the team needs. He grabs good amount of rebound too. He might be moved because of the emergence of Seraphin and Moultrie.

Trevor Ariza – is good but not great, definitely my all around guy in this game. I think he will stay as the starting SF until his contract expires.

Bradley Beal – I can’t hit his jumpshot on a consistent basis. On some games I struggled on scoring, I even had a 2-15 shooting using him.

Jason Terry, Carlos Delfino – The reason I get this two is because the team needs more scoring especially the second unit. I must say the fit perfectly especially when they play alongside Wall. Currently the team is among the team leaders in defense category but we still lose some games due to poor offense. Maybe this two are the answers to that.

Jan Vesely – Has turned to be a bench warmer on my team, despite good ratings I don’t know how he will fit on the team especially if he doesn’t have any outside shooting.

That is all, would love to read some comments and suggestions from you guys. Oh and sorry for the slow updates.

Record: 23-21| 4th in division, 10th in conference

Obviously Carlos Delfino and Jason Terry improved the team's offense and somehow also improved the team's decision making (less turnovers and fouls per game). But showed some decrease on the team's defense but not that much, the team is still the leaders in rebounding even though their averaged decreases. Currently the team is 3-5 after the trade hopefully it will improved as the season goes by.

Player Stats:
B.Beal: 19 PPG, 4 RPG, 1 SPG
J.Wall: 18 PPG, 8 APG, 2 SPG
Nene: 14 PPG, 7 RPG, 1 SPG, 1 BPG
E.Ilyasova: 11 PPG, 9 RPG
T.Ariza: 11 PPG, 6 RPG, 1 SPG
J.Terry: 11 PPG
E.Okafor: 7 PPG, 7 RPG, 1 BPG
C.Delfino: 5 PPG, 3 RPG

I think you got it all wrong  We are the no.1 team in rebounding and 2nd in steals, and yet we have a lot of work to do on defense? We shot very poor from the field and we're okay on the offense? lol

Not sure about the trade but good thing you're still above 500 and in the mix for that 8 seed. I have the same problem with Beal. He's great in simmed games but I can't buy a bucket with him when I play

I love using Terry and Delfino with Wall rather than Beal. Like you I struggled using him in game but produces great numbers when simmed.

I like the summary of the impact Delfino and Terry have had on your team, it really shows the pros and cons of the acquisition in a nice and concise format. I also like how you have multiple 10+ ppg scorers. Usually teams without huge star power on offence are fun to root for as they remind me of the Detroit Pistons' model of the early 2000s.

I like them too. They're also kind of like the current Nuggets, or last season's Pacers and Sixers.

I really love this Wizards team. I'm hoping for the real-life season they roll with Nene at PF, and Okafor at C.

Come to think of it maybe we do have some comparison to the Detroit Pistons back when they are a contender. We are at the top in some of the defense categories and we have a balance scoring. The only thing that separates us from them is they are winning games lol

Dare's Wizards Association |Wizards in the All-Star Weekend

Wizards in the All-Star Weekend

Image

Washington Wizards’ Star John Wall was officially named as part of the Eastern Conference All-Stars for the first time in his young career.

“It’s a great feeling. This is just the first step on accomplishing some goals I set this season for myself and my team. After this break my focus is making it to the playoffs.” Wall said.

Wall is averaging 18 points and 8 assists per game this season and leading his team for the hunt of the playoff spot. The Wizards are currently one game behind the Atlanta Hawks for the 8th spot.

Bradley Beal will also take part in the weekend, in the Rookies VS Sophomores game. Beal so far led all rookies in scoring with 19 points per game.

Image
Note: Kevin Love was replaced by Tony Parker while Chris Bosh was replace by Danny Granger

Image
Note: The rookies are without Damien Lillard (season), Harrison Barnes (2-4 weeks) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (2-4 weeks) due to injury.

Actually he is behind Davis and Sullinger. Both close to a double-double.
