Again, the point of the game is to post jersey numbers that match the number of days remaining. There are a handful of players who wore #38 to use up before the alternative methods.

The point of the game is just to have a little fun, right? They do add an interesting twist to the game.

Yes, it's just for fun, but it's still a game that's been devised with a purpose and a few conditions to make it challenging and fair, giving everyone a chance to play...hence why it's one entry per person, per day in the countdown and we do allow exceptions where necessary. It's not so bad on a lesser used number like 38 but for an upcoming number like 33 where there are plenty of players to choose from, it definitely shouldn't be the first option because that's not the game.
