Talk about NBA 2K13 here.

These videos are going to ruin my appetite for when I try to return to 2K12 for the last days before 2K13's release.

D-Wade had a sequence where he basically ran through the defense for a layup... and the User playing the Heat
Nice to see Kendrick Perkins trait put to work as he laid out LeBron James on the pick.

I don't know guys, I'm more hyped up with the info we're getting than the actual gameplay... The game still has that arcadey feel to me, something just isn't right, hard to put in words. It's been said 2k13 is their best game yet and guys think it's a bigger update than 2k11 was comparing to 2k10, but this... It feels like 2k12 with a couple of extra animations and a few fixes/tweaks. Sure, it's not the final built, but I doubt much will change in this month to come. Not really sure what to think of 2k13 yet
But, I agree with Leftos's last post, having heard that speed is fixed, no more up&under cheesing and your teammates AI is improved (have to see this one in action), it's hard to go back to 2k12.

How does the game have an arcade feel?? I think you basing that statement off seeing users that can't play very well and the fact that the quarters are only on 5 minutes makes that game play faster. I guarantee if you play 2K12 user vs user on 12min qtrs - SIM - HOF and don's skip any cut scenes or times outs, you wont feel the same.

Damn, did he just say 2k has an arcade feel? That gave me a good chuckle.

It can have one, with the appropriate slider settings.

Videos can be deceptive. As The_Blueprint83 noted, the quality of the demonstration is greatly affected by the skill/playing style of the people in control. To that end, CPU vs CPU videos provide us with a much more objective view of the gameplay. Also, I'm guessing most of the videos show games that are being played on casual or default sliders rather than ultra-sim settings, and probably on one of the easier difficulty settings. At the end of the day, while videos can give us some idea of what to expect and allow us to judge things like animation quality and the like, there's no substitute for hands-on experience in gauging how a game plays and feels.

Yep, it does look like an arcade for me as it resembles 2k12 too much, which was pretty much an arcade in my opinion. Too fast, scoring was too easy, it wasn't the same game like before, it felt like it's was made for a casual gamer, of which I believe aren't too many on this site.
I agree with Andrew, you can't know how the game feels like until you actually play it and also with The_Blueprint83 it's just regular sliders in the videos there, game speed 50, probably like PRO difficulty or something.
@The_Blueprint83: once we tried putting Hall of Fame in an online league I was part of, no one played onball defense (well you couldn't do much anyway in 2k12) and the CPU is just way too good on HOF, it wasn't an enjoyable experience. In my opinion, the game is at it's best when it's on allstar with tweaked sliders, those simulation default ones suck. Also, 12 min quarters in user vs user matches, give results that are way too big, users tend to shoot faster, make more mistakes when defending the player with the ball and make more mistakes when passing, which leads to more fastbreak points. That's just my experience with the game so far.

Allstar difficulty is way too easy to score, even with custom sliders. Your AI teammates are always too slow and always out of position with rebounding and help-defense.
HOF with a nice set of sliders is the way to go. I get a better, more enjoyable and realistic experience. Set game speed to 40-42, set quickness to zero, and crank the clutch to zero. That should start you off in the right direction.

To each their own. The best approach is to find a difficulty level that offers enough challenge for you personally, without too many annoying AI quirks, then make some slider adjustments as needed. Sliders are definitely one of the best additions to sports games in the past decade or so. They can't fix everything, but they can go a long way in customising the game experience to your liking.

It does look a lot like 2k12, so i can't say i'm overly excited. Granted it does look better. (though passing still looks weird to me). Basically, whether i buy the game or not will depend on how much they improved Association mode. That's all i really care about.

Not a fan of the bling swirls on the broadcast overlays.

It's nothin' our modders can't fix.

Some unseen presentation/Gameplay from Gamescom. Skip to 2:21 mark for 2K13 and sorry embedding wasn't working for some reason.

Quick glimpse of the tutorial there, it seems. As far as the frontend presentation goes, I could take it or leave it. I'm not the biggest fan, but I can live with it.
