how soon people forget! how is it shaping out to be worse?! not even...

Perhaps that was hyperbole, but nevertheless there's something about the way Howard is going about the whole situation that is very offputting.

i think what howard is doing actually is worse, at the very least its just as bad. lebron was a free agent where howard is pretty much straight up forcing a trade to 1 team and 1 team only which really limits what orlando can get back for him
edit: i see nothing wrong with how allen is leaving

Yeah, that's probably it. Still, "The Decision" was the height of tackiness and tactlessness, so tough call. Suffice to say both situations could've been handled better.
As for Allen, his departure is nothing like either situation, so once again anyone making that comparison is grossly exaggerating and way off the mark.

Until I see that Howard's agent sets up a day to announce nationwide with sponsors and Jim gray conducting the interview. Not even...

who needs a day when you can spend an entire year telling people where you are gonna take your talents

Man thats exactly what the media wants you to think
Thu Jul 12, 2012 8:38 am
And so did people in Lebron's decision. the media wanted him to do the Decision on ESPN, and was even happier when they did pre-ceremony. Indecision to me is just as bad if not worse.

Ray Allen takes out full page ad, thanking Boston
It won't appease everyone because that's not how sports fanaticism works, but that's a classy move.

Very classy move. The Heat are truly lucky to have him both on and off the floor. Great presence to have around anywhere.

Since being with the Heat Ray Allen is dead to me now. DEAD.
Same with Battier.

Doc Rivers takes blame for Ray Allen LeavingIn a recent interview, Doc Rivers said,
"People can use all the Rondo stuff – and it was there, no doubt about that – but it was me more than Rondo," said Rivers. "I'm the guy who gave Rondo the ball. I'm the guy who decided that Rondo needed to be more of the leader of the team. That doesn't mean guys liked that – and Ray did not love that – because Rondo now had the ball all the time.

Admirable for Doc to take the blame, but I think it still comes down to Allen and Rondo butting heads. Coaches have to make tough calls and do what's best for the team, and increasing Rondo's role is something that had to happen.

Memes usually have a punchline of some sort.
