Magic should hire Dolan. He has no problem letting players go where they don't want to go.

If he were a free agent, I would completely agree with that. However, since he's still under contract with the Magic, it's not so cut and dry because he still has an obligation to them he must fulfill. He's within his rights to request a trade and have a preference as to where he goes, but at the end of the day it's up to Orlando, since they are the ones who are relieving him of his obligation to play for them.

I wish he had never opted in & this saga would finally be resolved.
Fri Jul 20, 2012 11:15 pm
Possibly, though there still would've had to have been a sign-and-trade to get him to Brooklyn.
Fri Jul 20, 2012 11:26 pm
True, but I don't have an issue with that since it would all be resolved & we wouldn't have to keep reading all the reports of Dwight's four seasons in one day.
Fri Jul 20, 2012 11:46 pm
They'd probably still be running into the same road blocks of trying to get a third team involved to make the deal work, so it could have very well dragged on regardless.

With these Summer League performance from AMMO. He can get back to the NBA this season. I wonder who he will sign for?
Sat Jul 21, 2012 12:13 am
Quite possibly the Clippers, if he continues to perform well for them in the Summer League.
Sat Jul 21, 2012 12:29 am
Ahh, Ammo looks good. Hopefully somebody picks him up & finds a spot for him in their rotation.

I agree. He's gone overboard with his choosing game. Being clear and specifying preferred teams is not a sin but the way he handled and leaving them with only one option in Nets is somewhat absurd. He should have done that as a free agent.

Trade him for your boy Lopez and other scrubs from Brooklyn?

The Magic have no urgency to rush a trade, and literally the trade did not happen because there was no third team that wanted to take Humphries.
Howard is a grown man, he needs to do decisions on his own, and if he can't its not the Magic's fault.
Those new statements everyday should not be overrated, Howard won't sign an extension yet, because when he hits FA he can get a lot bigger contract.
Here are some fact's that the magic FO(specifically devos) aren't fault-free
Howard was under the impression that Magic officials had promised him that if things didn’t work out in Orlando, they would trade him to the team of his choice, Brooklyn, according to a person familiar with the discussions. It was only under those circumstances that Howard agreed to change course hours before the March 15 trade deadline and waive his opt-out, the person said.
However, such an accusation blindsided the Magic, who told Howard not to sign the waiver late at night after returning from a road game in San Antonio on March 14 and instead urged him to sleep on the decision. The notion of exchanging Howard’s opt-out waiver for assurances that he’d ultimately be traded to the Nets?
"No promises were made," said a person briefed on the Magic’s conversations with Howard.

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/ken-berger/19617990/lakers-cavs-in-howard-talks-but-magic-still-not-movedThere were "reports" that orl would've traded DH to LA if he didn't sign his ETO(bynum was great last "small" season). but if he'll finish the season, he'll get what/where he wants. dwight doesn't want to go LA, and be the "tyson chandler" of kobe. you know the next stories tho, the promise magic made and the "blackmail" nonesense was the promise that dwight would be traded to brooklyn(nothings changed as his agent said, for like 1000x).
They are in no rush to trade dwight? what are the headlines on ESPN?yahoo sports?NBA? c'mon, this is getting ugly, for the sake of their franchise. and heard of shaq/tmac/hardaway/steve francis?did they stay in orlando? do you blame them? If this was done few weeks before, they could've focused onto the season, filling their coaching staff(none yet?) and etc.
just want to add, in the anals of history regarding trading "superstars", mostly the other team would just receive scrubs/picks. there were no "fair" trade on most of them. and about brook lopez?just wait and see..

It's starting to feel like same shit, different player. I almost wish Howard would get traded to the Lakers so we don't have to hear about it anymore.

I dunno why, but that line just tickles me. Sounds disrespectful, like Tyson Chandler is just some scrub

I wonder if there are a lot of false rumors by people trying to get the decision making stirred up. If not, Dwight Howard seems to have trouble deciding what he wants to do.

Didn't mean to be that way, but to exaggerate, maybe

Just For Fun(kobe is undeniably a great player), this might be the reason why dwight(shaq, eventually leaves after 2 rings) and kobe wont co-exist.

Hey, at least he won't be headed to Brooklyn.

If they did make that promise then they did mess up, as there's no way they could guarantee they'd be able to get a deal done with so many variables. Of course, the wording may have been that they'd
try to trade him to Brooklyn, which they certainly have done this offseason and supposedly came close to getting it done before the Cavs backed out.

The worst thing about it even if he is traded to whatever team, this ain't over until next summer, because his Agent won't let him sign anything until he hits Free Agency... $$$$$$$$$

Not necessarily. It depends on the definition of "messing up". Meanwhile I think Howard is that stupid and manipulable, that he believes quite everything you tell him.
Sun Jul 22, 2012 12:56 am
I also guessed something like that went down between Dwight and the management. No surprise in business world. But it was still his mistake to sign the extension.

If they promised something they couldn't reasonably deliver on, ultimately contributing to the deterioration of the relationship and further complicating the whole situation, I'd say that'd count as messing up.
Sun Jul 22, 2012 3:56 pm
It's funny though it really isn't a mess up deed for the team. They got what they wanted out of it. A headache but better than losing Howard for nothing. And publicly they've done their job as heavy blames and focus are on what Howard has done rather than the management. Howard is at fault for letting it slip this way. I still like the kid despite his stubbornness but he deserves blames.
Sun Jul 22, 2012 4:06 pm
I think they were always going to get something back for him, given the necessity of a sign-and-trade...especially since there's only one place he wants to go.

Further proof he's a fucking attention whore. He probably thinks he's hilarious fucking with the media, but in reality, all he's doing is turning all his fans against him and making himself look like a fucking dumbass. Hopefully he realizes at some point that nobody gives a fuck anymore.
Excessive use of the word "fuck" for the small chance he comes on here and sees this post.

No, it's just proof of a "loophole" in the CBA. No player with a current max contract under the old CBA will ever be signing an extension when it expires. They will lose 25+% of the value of a contract if they sign an extension instead of waiting for their contract to expire.
There were similar reasons why Melo had to get dealt and extended before the old CBA expired.
Mon Jul 23, 2012 5:05 pm
Just out of pure boredom since there's lack of big news in the league, who do you guys think is the bigger attention whore? Dwight or LeBron.
