Probably not and nobody can fairly begrudge him that. Still, if remaining in New York was what he ultimately wanted to do, he
could have sacrificed the money.

Surprised. I thought the Knicks would consider Lin to be luxury tax worthy. Might be a regrettable move down the road in both business and basketball wise.
Felton however was a pretty good player as a Knick though things are certainly different now. How much is he getting anyways and for how long?

He had a month or two and I don't think he's completely devoid of talent or anything, but I'd still overpay Lin before bringing him back.

OT, sort of. Coming out of dormancy to post this, but I have a mutual friend with Jeremy Lin (my best friend from high school who went to Harvard is friends with him). He said if Jeremy comes to Houston and when he comes home to visit, he'll call him up and we can all go hang out somewhere. I'm going to be part of an entourage!

That's amazing.

That's gotta be awesome. You came out of retirement!

Yeah, I still lurk time to time. I'm also trying to get my friend to introduce my sister to him who is in love with him. It'd be perfect since they're both super Christian. Trying to be Rob Kardashian to his Lamar Odom

Hahaha. Aren't all Asian women in love with him?
In any case your sis successfully marries him, don't forget to invite our entire forum to the wedding for the support.

lin will make much more money playing for houston than he would have for the knicks. them not matching will be better for him i think. he will have the green light in houston to put up big stats and land him more dollars outside of his contract. if he was a knick this season you would see him for 3 and a half quarters then its the bench for the last 6 minutes or so. his numbers would be way the hell down imo with the full team there. this is the best for him.
as for the knicks? they can do better than lin at the point. lin is not a championship pg and if they really do want to win anything they will need someone better

Who is a championship point guard, that they're likely to be able to get? Aside from Jason Kidd of course, who is obviously at the tail end of his career.

True, after all this is business. But that 'poison pill' contract ticked Dolan off. Will he calm down and change his mind by 11:59 Tuesday? We'll see.
Some of the Knick beat guys are suggesting Lin never wanted to come back in the first place, mainly because of Woodson's offense.

also read an article today from Stephen A Smith who Ive always found very irritating basically blaming everything on Lin and calling him greedy.
but yeah knicks are to blame too for being so arrogant. everybody already knew before the season ended that they would match any offers, but to make a mockery of the Rockets' offer before the moratorium period was over, that's what caused the Rockets to drop that 14.8 mil 3rd year on them.

Once again, Western news reports are put to shame. There's no way Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless can compete with that.

Knicks made the right move for once. You pay Chris Paul that kind of loot, not Jeremy Lin. Carmelo was right, it was a ridiculous contract. It's silly how delusional some of my fellow Knick fans are. They're on Facebook or calling WFAN acting as if this dude is the second coming of Steve Nash.
Wed Jul 18, 2012 10:37 pm
Still better than Felton.
Thu Jul 19, 2012 12:21 am
Felton showed up out of shape for the Blazers and allegedely wasn't happy to be there from the day 1. Returning to the Knicks might help him out a bit but there's no doubt Lin has more upsides than Felton at the moment. Perhaps the Knicks made a right move financially but I agree with Andrew that they didn't, purely on basketball perspective.

Lin pissed off Dolan with that 'poison pill' contract, otherwise he'd still be a Knick.

To our beloved jeremy lin..

Then Dolan should have kept his mouth shut: "We match any offer
we want to match!" was simply stupid...
