I'm guessing that if he won a championship wherever he went, that combined with the bigger payday he'd receive by re-signing could most likely convince him to stay.

I read that there's a possibility Orlando could opt to wait and try to move him to Brooklyn after January 15th, when Brook Lopez can be traded. I don't know how likely that is though. I'm guessing that unless they can change his mind about leaving, they'd rather resolve the situation sooner rather than later.

Too bad for orlando, now offers from hou,LA,atl etc wouldn't be better than the previous ones they've had. I guess dwight would just milk his injury 'til his traded, adds their reputation in not taking care of their superstars(i.e shaq, tmac, steve, hardaway). Now they can't move-on, nets leaked their last shot that includes lopez,4 1st round picks, hump(S&T and only 1 year guarantee), 3M cash for dwight, jrich, duhon & clark. Basically 2-team deal that orl get what they want(picks(4 1st),young players, cash, salary dump). Nets felt orl are just using them for other teams to make better offers for them. they've worked-out everything for the last 14 days, but orl didn't(effort?). so instead losing lopez to bobcats, port, cavs(same max offers from them) nets resigned him and move on. Houston are set to amnesty Scola in their efforts to bring in Howard, convince him to stay and bring in someone else (like CP3) next year.

I can say that is a really BIG gamble sir andrew, since cp3 is likely to resign w/ the clips, but maybe they can put a gamble on dwight, still unsure about cp3..

Rockets twitter account trolling everyone by suddenly following Dwight, Jason Richardson, Glen Davis, Chris Duhon and Hedo Turkoglu?

Is this worse than when the teams were trying to clear out cap space for 2010 free agents?

Might be a deal happening:
Kevin Martin
Patrick Patterson
Chandler Parsons
Marcus Morris
Jeremy Lamb
Royce White
Terrence Jones
2013 TOR 1st
2013 DAL 1st

for

Dwight Howard
Chris Duhon
Glen Davis
Jason Richardson or Hedo Turkoglu

The Rockets need to add at least one more draftpick, otherwise this is no deal.

It is, but if nothing else they get rid of Scola's contract. He's a good player, or at least capable of being one, but he fell off last year and I'd say they were regretting the contract they gave him.

I still would prefer a trade with the Rockets, Howard for Bynum does not make sense for the Magic as both have an expiring contract.

Howard reportedly has lucrative incentives in his deal with adidas if he finds a way to play in one of the nation’s two largest markets — New York or Los Angeles.

So do we blame adidas for this, or Howard for deciding millions of dollars isn't enough? Or both?

I also find it amusing that a team with Nash and Kobe 'needs a global superstar'.

Howard's a damaged product sorta like Lebron James. Won't get as much hate as Lebron but no good excuses for letting it all come to this clusterfuck.

I have a feeling Dwight thought, even with an extention signed, the Nets somehow would have pulled the trade for him.

Maybe they are going to wait it out until the trade deadline after all, or mid January when offseason signees like Brook Lopez can be traded. I guess they have some level of comfort knowing there's only one place he really wants to go and getting there will be difficult without a sign-and-trade.

Now that Houston has Lin, I wouldn't mind the Rockets landing Dwight. Lol.

I have a bad feeling it will just end up like last year. Many jabbering but nothing happens...

Hey. Lin and Howard sound like a legit duo. Sorta like Yao & T-Mac tandem. Not bad for building pieces.

It's not like they'd be breaking up a championship squad or even a contender. As poorly as Howard has handled the whole situation, you can't throw out what he's capable of doing on the court. If he's willing to sign an extension, I think you have to pull the trigger.

Speaking of which, the Rockets have apparently reached out to Hakeem Olajuwon to help with their pitch to Howard as far as an extension is concerned.

My only concern is the supporting casts. Who will back them up? Parsons, Patterson, and even Morris can be quality support players, and to give them up is just crazy.

This is just what I've been waiting, but at least maintain the core.
