Talk about NBA 2K13 here.

Maybe they add the dream team and Olympic redeem team but most likely it wont be something big.. 2k is known to hype things but always fail to deliver

I'm guessing it is indeed related to some aspect of NBA 2K13, but whatever it is they feel it's as significant a thing as they've ever had to announce regarding any of their sports titles.

Sorry for ruining the surprise for you folks, the big announcement was already leaked:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seYHjyCq5woBut in all honestly that's almost exactly how I imagine this big announcement to go down. If the fools who thought All-Star weekend DLC for consoles only and guitar-hero dunk contest were good promotional items, I'm really going to set my expectations low.
Or pull one of these:
"We asked ourselves, what could we do to one-up the features from the last two games, that is Michael Jordan, and Legends challenges, and we decided the next step was clearly to do very little or even remove parts of those features and then call them improved. The end result is a game that feels very different from NBA Shootout 2003."
I didn't make that up, that's an actual quote from Ronney, look it up.

maybe it's the plug and play controls? i don't know what that is, but i saw it mentioned somewhere. regardless, does anyone knows what plug and play is besides the obvious common sensical answer?
let's just hope it has something to do with gameplay...

there is a non-feature NBA 2K13 related news item coming out tomorrow, via Ronnie's twitter

Unless I see it in context, I can't tell you. What you remember could be "anyone can now pick up the controller and play", which they said would mean that the controls are simplified for those that are new to the game, but would still offer the depth and options of previous iterations. There's ways you can do this right, and ways to screw it up. We'll see. They could always go down the safe path of multiple control schemes, but I doubt it.

Don't think this has anything to do with "biggest announcement ever". Partnership, or celebrity, my guess.

The big announcement is that the cover is a lie, and this is the real one... or a rough concept of it.

that's not the real one.. first of all he dosen't have a tattoo like the one you see on the left arm. looks like NBA 2K10 but would be awesome if that was the real cover

Well yeah it's a ripped off version of 2K10, and like I said it was a rough concept of the real one.

ah, i c. maybe it has to do with the shot stick - i think a lot of newbies just stay with the 'shoot' button and let the ai decide the move for you (which never really works out too great). i actually did that through 2k11 and into early 2k12. so maybe they're improving on that. jeez, hard to believe it's only three months away already.

If its the biggest in 2K History, it would have to top MJ coming back into the virtual basketball world, that was HUGE. And after that, the legends were the next biggest. So I hope they know what they were saying...
Sat Jun 30, 2012 9:28 am
Well, they've got people talking, so I'd say it's mission accomplished.

I hope the announcement is bringing College Hoops & NFL 2K BACK!!!!!

Okay then tell me what you think the "BIGGEST ANNOUNCEMENT IN 2K HISTORY" is??? Cause those games sold pretty good.. And bringing College Hoops back would make since as far as integrating MyPlayer with NBA 2K..

They don't have the NCAA or NFL licenses.

EA's licence for Madden is only for this year and then it's over. Maybe NFL is going on 2K.
Fri Jul 06, 2012 11:24 pm
It is? Even so, they wouldn't have the license yet, so an announcement would be premature. And have nothing to do with NBA 2K.
Fri Jul 06, 2012 11:52 pm
Juan Mata, just because EA's NFL license is on its last year, doesn't mean they won't renew it.
Sat Jul 07, 2012 12:23 am
The NFL might avoid going exclusive again with the new licensing deal. However, like I said it would be a premature announcement and wouldn't have anything to do with NBA 2K.
Sat Jul 07, 2012 8:10 am
Would be nice to see them not renew it. I'm thinking the competition can bring out better football games again.

But it does say "Biggest Announcement in
2K Sports history" ...NOT... "Biggest Announcement in
NBA 2K Sports history"
Sat Jul 07, 2012 10:55 am
True, but it was mentioned in conjunction with NBA 2K news. As such, I still think it'll be related to NBA 2K.
Sun Jul 08, 2012 8:49 am
How much damn longer?
Sun Jul 08, 2012 9:00 am
They are just waiting for EA to announce something, then 2K will make their announcement.
