Oklahoma City Thunder (55-27) vs (8)
San Antonio Spurs (43-39)Projected Starters: R. Westbrook | T. Sefolosha | K. Durant | S. Ibaka | K. Perkins | 6th Man - A. Kirilenko | Injuries: J. Harden (out 1-2 weeks)
Projected Sterters: T. Parker | M. Ginobili | R. Jefferson | D. Blair | T. Duncan | 6th Man - K. Leonard | Injuries: D. Blair (hurt 2-4 weeks)
The Oklahoma City Thunder finally emerged as the top team of the West this season. They clinched the top seed of the Western Conference this year's playoffs and they will have to face the San Antonio Spurs who really played bad this season and many are saying this year will be their last playoff run. Looking at this series matchup, Spurs will have to endure the offensive tandem of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook who really improved and established as the most unstoppable duo these days. The bad news for the Thunder is they are missing James Harden because of an injury. But the signing of Andrei Kirilenko in the month of March somehow covered the sixth man spot. For the Spurs, they will have to depend on Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker to do the scoring load. They will also like to witness some vintage performance from Tim Duncan, who played average this season. Can the absence of Harden be the key for the Spurs to pull an upset?
Prediction: Thunder in 5(4)
Dallas Mavericks (49-33) vs (5)
Portland Trailblazers (48-34)Projected Starters: J. Kidd | V. Carter | S. Marion | L. Odom | D. Nowitzki | 6th Man - J. Terry | Injuries: None
Projected Starters: R. Felton | J. Crawford | G. Wallace | L. Aldridge | G. Oden | 6th Man - N. Batum | Injuries: M. Camby (hurt day-to-day)
The repeat of last year's playoffs series and the Mavericks' title defense will start. Only difference here is some players. The Blazers lose Brandon Roy to retirement, but got scoring threat Jamal Crawford in the off-season. Mavericks pulled a trade acquiring Lamar Odom from the Lakers that forced Rick Carlisle to put up a small starting lineup with Dirk Nowitzki playing at center. Last year's Finals MVP is still playing at his best while Jason Kidd announced that this will be his last year of playing and a Hall of Fame spot is waiting for him. For the Blazers, Greg Oden is looking healthy and will start over Marcus Camby because of an injury. LaMarcuse Aldridge declined compared to last season but he's still leading the Blazers' offensive load. Can the Blazers seek their revenge and stop the Mavericks title defense early?
Prediction: Mavericks in 7(3)
Denver Nuggets (49-33) vs (6)
Los Angeles Lakers (47-35)Projected Starters: T. Lawson | A. Afflalo | D. Gallinari | K. Faried | Nene | 6th Man - W. Chandler | Injuries: None
Projected Starters: D. Fisher | K. Bryant | M. World Peace | P. Gasol | A. Bynum | 6th Man - M. Barnes | Injuries: None
Lakers dropped down so hard while the Nuggets rose very high that no one expected. Nuggets notched the third best spot of the West because of the upcoming star Danilo Gallinari. The league also recognized and named him one of this year's All Star. Gallo averaged a career-highs in points, rebounds and field goal %. But the question here is how the youngsters can beat a determined Kobe Bryant? Clearly, the Lakers title chance are getting slimmer year by year. But Bryant is looking fine as ever. What he need is the combination of Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum to oust the rising Nuggets. The Nuggets have more chance of winning this series and maybe this time they can beat their arch enemy Lakers.
Prediction: Nuggets in 6(2)
Los Angeles Clippers (52-30) vs (7)
Houston Rockets (44-38)Projected Starters: C. Paul | C. Billups | C. Butler | B. Griffin | D. Jordan | 6th Man - M. Williams | Injuries: K. Martin (out 1-2 weeks)
Projected Starters: K. Lowry | K. Martin | C. Parsons | L. Scola | S. Dalembert | 6th Man - G. Dragic | Injuries: C. Lee (out 4-6 months)
The most improved team of the year, Los Angeles Clippers. After a six-year playoff drought, the other team in LA will host a playoffs basketball. They managed to clinched the top two seed in the West and got the most winning record in their franchise history. The reason why? Chris Paul. Clippers pulled of the trade that brought them Paul who changed the franchise's image. A season where Paul decided to pass less and score more. He averaged career-low 6.7 assists but produced 20.7 points per game, a 5-point difference compared to last season, he also shot a career-highs in field goal and three point percentage. Another story is Blake Griffin who's again an All-Star this year. But the Clippers is entering the Playoffs plagued with injuries of their role players like Kenyon Martin, Randy Foye and Chauncey Billups. Meanwhile, the Rockets will also return to the Playoffs after their last appearance in 2009. Leading them is their all-around point guard Kyle Lowry and scoring machine Kevin Martin. The only hope for this Rockets team is to hold Paul who's likely to explode just like last year's playoffs.
Prediction: Clippers in 5

Chicago Bulls (59-23) vs (8)
Philadelphia 76ers (43-39)Projected Starters: D. Rose | R. Hamilton | L. Deng | T. Gibson | J. Noah | 6th Man - C. Watson | Injuries: C. Boozer (out 2-4 weeks)
Projected Starters: J. Holiday | E. Turner | A. Iguodala | E. Brand | S. Hawes | 6th Man - L. Williams | Injuries: None
The Chicago Bulls repeat their last season's performance after notching again the league's best record. They will face the Philadelphia 76ers who again found themselves as the eighth seed. Bulls have a big problem to manage, they are missing Carlos Boozer due to an abdominal injury. Now they will look to focus the scoring to the last year's MVP Derrick Rose, who's again a candidate for the award this year. They also have their off-season acquisition Richard Hamilton who can give the Bulls a scoring option. While for the Sixers, swingman Andre Iguodala was named as All-Star reserve this year by his all-around numbers that led the team. Sixth Man of the Year candidate Louis Williams is still contributing well off the bench, but by merely looking, they don't have the pieces to compete or beat against the top seeded Bulls.
Prediction: Bulls in 4(4)
Boston Celtics (51-31) vs (5)
Indiana Pacers (44-38)Projected Starters: R. Rondo | R. Allen | P. Pierce | B. Bass | K. Garnett | 6th Man - K. Dooling | Injuries: None
Projected Starters: D. Collison | P. George | D. Granger | D. West | R. Hibbert | 6th Man - T. Hansbrough | Injuries: None
Their gas seems to be running out, but the Boston Celtics still managed to win 51 games this season and clinched the fourth best in the East. They are facing the upstart Indiana Pacers in the first round of the playoffs. Celtics' Big 3 is still clicking well, plus Rajon Rondo who was named an All-Star this season. This will be an exciting series against the Pacers who made it to the playoffs again just like last year. They are led by Danny Granger and off-season acquisition David West. All-Star snub Roy Hibbert will have to chance to make a name for himself in this series. Expect these two teams to grind it out with each other.
Prediction: Celtics in 7(3)
Orlando Magic (51-31) vs (6)
New York Knicks (43-39)Projected Starters: J. Nelson | J. Richardson | H. Turkoglu | R. Anderson | D. Howard | 6th Man - J.J. Redick | Injuries: None
Projected Starters: J. Lin | J.R. Smith | C. Anthony | A. Stoudemire | T. Chandler | 6th Man - B. Davis | Injuries: J.R. Smith (hurt 2-4 weeks)
Despite of rumors that he will leave the town, Dwight Howard ignored it all and decided to carry his whole team to win 51 games. They will face the New York Knicks who can't find their consistency throughout the regular season. Howard averaged a career-high 24 points per game and two steals and he's locked up again to the Defensive Player of the Year award. The emergence also of Ryan Anderson helped the Magic as he was promoted to the starting power forward spot. As for the Knicks, they may have found a gem in Jeremy Lin who was now their starting point guard. Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire is somehow effective and they will have to rely the defense to their free-agent signing Tyson Chandler. Let's see how Chandler will have to stop Howard's dominance throught this series. But one thing is unsure, will this be Howard's last season for the Magic?
Prediction: Magic in 6(2)
Miami Heat (55-27) vs (7)
Chicago Bulls (43-39)Projected Starters: M. Chalmers | D. Wade | L. James | C. Bosh | U. Haslem | 6th Man - S. Battier | Injuries: D. Wade (hurt 1-2 weeks)
Projected Starters: J. Teague | J. Johnson | T. McGrady | J. Smith | A. Horford | 6th Man - K. Hinrich | Injuries: None
The most scrutinized team in the NBA, Miami Heat once again failed to clinch the league's best record, but they what they need now, they are the heavily favored team to win the title this year. Thanks to LeBron James who's maybe looking to receive his 3rd MVP award, his numbers are unbelievable and he showed he is the main man in the team. Dwyane Wade was somehow slowed down because of an injury and will play hurt. Heat don't have any problems to beat this Hawks team, but they have to watch out because they are known as a fighter. Josh Smith finally earned his most-sought recognition, an All-Star selection, while Joe Johnson was snubbed. Their starting point guard Jeff Teague is the front-runner for the Most Improved Award this year. But to simply put, they can't match the Heat, especially on how LeBron is playing now and hungry for his first ring.
Prediction: Heat in 4

Clippers edge Rockets again for 2-0 series lead

FINAL SCORE
HOU | 24 | 26 | 23 | 19 | 92
LAC | 34 | 20 | 28 | 25 | 107LOS ANGELES--Chris Paul picks up where he left off from Game 1, and the result? An incredible Game 2.
Paul netted 38 points, had six assists, two steals and two blocks to cruise the Clippers to a Game 2 win over the Houston Rockets, 107-97. As his few teammates struggled offensively, Paul took over the scoring load and he was helped by All-Star forward Blake Griffin, who had a big double-double, 28 points, 15 boards, and missed only 3 shots, 13-of-16 shooting night.
The Rockets couldn't find an answer to Paul and Griffin, they never had a lead throughout the whole game and they are dominated both offensively and defensively. They shot a poor 39% in the field and failed to make adjustments prior to their Game 1 loss. Kevin Martin led the Rockets by scoring 19 points, Kyle Lowry and Chandler Parsons have their forgettable shooting night, the two combined for a 16-of-46 shooting. Lowry had 19 and Parsons scored 15.
Other problem for the Rockets is their free throws, they just went 5 times in the line compared to Clippers' 21 attempts, which they converted 12 of them. They also pounded the Rockets under the rim, scoring 64 points in the paint, to Rockets' 38.
The series will shift next to Houston, who's looking for a must-win Game 4 to stay in the picture.
