That was my first thought too (which is how I came across the outline idea by accident, but haven't been able to duplicate it since) but when that didn't work, I figured greyscale textures would do the trick instead.

is is possible to change the overall gameplay?because one time i played minni vs bos and in the middle of the game i found out that i can only use beasley (like in 2k where there is an option that you can use only one player).it was very cool.i was giving picks to rubio xD but when i exited and played again it didnt work no more -____-

also i found the fake xbox aiact posted by saharor.it was very realistic in terms of stressing the difficulty of the stop and pop where it is very hard to stop your momentum.so if you stop and pop in a fast break your shot will be like a fadeaway.you should try it and utilize it it might be useful/maybe its the tuning files?

There are AIACT tweaks, there's changing ratings so that players perform as realistically as possible given the game's engine and there's the sliders but at the end of the day, you're not going to get NBA Live 08 to play like NBA Live 10, NBA 2K11 or NBA 2K12 (or in my opinion, as good as NBA Live 06 PC for that matter). I would personally opt for a different PC NBA Live if it's better gameplay you want - which is why I continue to update the rosters for 2005, 06 and 07 as well - but again, there are limitations on just how much we can accomplish. All those games are ports of releases that were made for last gen tech.

Maybe it's an idea to kind of blur some textures a bit to get an 80's feeling for 80's teams? Brilliant work though, it looks stunning.

Perhaps, or at least alter the colours a bit so they look a bit washed out. Something to consider perhaps.

I’m pleased to announce that at long last, I anticipate releasing new roster updates for NBA Live 2005 through NBA Live 08 by the end of the week. At this point, all of the necessary players have been created, player art is in place, the rosters for all 30 NBA teams and the East and West All-Stars are up to date and years pro have been updated to include the 2010/2011 season.

Over the next couple of days, I will be finishing up editing ratings for players who were in last year’s rosters, ensuring all team art is in place and up to date, updating things like salaries, team records and accessories, adding this year’s Rookie Challenge rosters and putting on other finishing touches. Once the NBA Live 08 update is complete, I’ll be converting it for use with NBA Live 07, NBA Live 06 and NBA Live 2005. As soon as that’s done, I’ll be uploading the new rosters and announcing the release here on the NLSC.

A huge thanks to everyone for their continued patience and support. I am getting the rosters out much later than I would’ve liked, due to a combination of the lockout dampening my enthusiasm, burnout on making the updates and other responsibilities continually getting in the way, however the release is finally in sight. At this point I’m not sure about the future of the updates beyond this season, especially if NBA Live 13 does come out on PC, but I will evaluate the situation around the time of the 2012 Draft as I’d like to do what I can to keep the old games alive for those who still play them. In the meantime, check back soon for the new rosters!

That's good news! and hopefully EA will also release NBA Live 13 in PC.

Yay! Well, if Live 13 does come out on the PC. I'll have to weigh that and Dark Souls. Turns out Namco Bandai are releasing it on PC in the fall!

well if nba live 13 is released on pc then we shall hope they make that as easy to update.... but meanwhile im happy to hear the rosters will be released soon!!!

There are no 2012 draftees as yet, nor are there 2012/2013 season rosters; we're still in the 2011/2012 season, after all. There will however be up to date 2012 season rosters, with 2011 draftees. Players not currently playing in the league have not been added at this time.

oh..OK!! i thought you just created your own prospects based on the NCAA elite or other international team that are qualified for this years draft..

No, the current roster update is just that: current rosters. Not future, fictional or speculative rosters.

Just a quick update on the status of the NLSC roster updates for NBA Live 2005 through NBA Live 08. Unfortunately I encountered a minor setback over the weekend which has pushed back the release slightly, however I still anticipate having the rosters out within the next couple of days, just in time for the 2012 Playoffs.

At this point there are still a few art updates to put in place and check, along with some accessories and contract info to update. I’d estimate the NBA Live 08 roster to be about 98% complete; once it’s done, I’ll be completing the conversions for NBA Live 2005-07 and releasing all the roster updates right here on the NLSC. Thanks again to everyone for your patience and understanding, at long last we’re in the home stretch!

As I mentioned before I'm still working on the rosters, but while getting all the jerseys in place I've noticed I'm lacking a preview for the Dallas Mavericks' new alternate jersey (this one). As such, I've whipped this up:
