And that makes the Mass Effect prequel game a console exclusive title. :P

Just finished the game... and I thought I'd say this:

FUCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!

Thank you Mass Effect 3 for knocking the Mass Effect series off the top of my all-time favourite gaming series'... the game was amazing, but that ending was shit.

Edit: I chose vaporise... I think

The original had the best final encounter I think. Two was pretty awesome as well, and I was expecting this one to blow my mind. It was such a massive build up too. I died several times trying to finish 3. Knowing how it ends, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to replay the game. I'd probably just go back through 2 again.

But the REAL ENDING will be on a DLC. So buy that DLC when it comes out!

No need for spoiler tags, just don't watch the video if you don't want spoilers.

Even if that theory makes perfect sense and is right it still means the real ending is on the DLC. BUY AND PREORDER NAO!

I've read a lot of stuff bashing BioWare for the ending which they say was anti-climactic or so. I'd still get this for the story and for final comparison of each of the games in the trilogy.

http://www.psu.com/Amazon-granting-refu ... 727-p0.php
A few users on BioWare Social Network have claimed they've returned their copies of Mass Effect 3 purchased from Amazon, and they've been fully refunded for the transaction.

User Lycius posted: "Amazon is giving me a refund on my opened CE. Sweet! Maybe I can find another game that doesn't crush my soul to spend that $80 on." He later confirmed that his purchased was completely refunded.

Usually, a company would rather either replace or swap with a sold product when the product is defective. Now, Amazon is basically replacing a product for what BioWare intended it to contain.

THE ENDING.
IT'S DAT BAD.

I read a person's post that did make sense regarding the mess. He said that as a stand-alone game ME3's ending is good, that is if you ignore the user options/choices throughout the story, but if you add the work you did in building your character in the previous two games and the presence of choices through out the game, yeah the game stinks.

That's exactly what my character is. A recurring Shepard from the first Mass Effect.

Not that I watched any of the ending videos you posted, but THAT'S A FUCKING SHAME.

EDIT:

DItto. Compared to ME2, the original one has better badass of an ending. And a much difficult boss too given that weapons overheat.

So taking Earth back isn't a good idea?

It's amazing how the games ending has nothing to do with their "Take Earth Back" marketing...
JRod365LIVE
It's funny... after playing the game twice I can still not remember having taken back earth with my giant fleet and army of all the races which I went through hell to assemble...
... there was space magic though... I hate space magic

You actually never take earth back...

I'd be tempted to try and return my collectors edition ME3, but I actually love all the stuff that came with it. The game was really fucken epic too, at least up til the end. Maybe if I forget that fucken butchery of an ending, building Shepard's "legacy" might be fun.

One thing I think the original ME has over 2 and 3 is how much you can explore the Citadel.

It won't lessen fanboy outrage when Bioware acted like dicks about it...

Mass Effect 3 Ending-Hatred: 5 Reasons The Fans Are Right
BioWare has made a lot of very specific promises about what players could expect. The vast majority of those promises concerned the very personal journey each player could expect; in short, the choices they made over the course of three very long games would have enormous impact over how their story ended.

Even today, the official Mass Effect Site bears this message along the top of the page:

“EXPERIENCE THE BEGINNING, MIDDLE, AND END OF AN EMOTIONAL STORY UNLIKE ANY OTHER, WHERE THE DECISIONS YOU MAKE COMPLETELY SHAPE YOUR EXPERIENCE AND OUTCOME.”

As good as Mass Effect 3 is — and it really is an exceptional game in many important ways — the product BioWare ultimately delivered literally broke that promise, and that, more than anything else, is why fans are so angry.

It’s been said more than once that the “multiple” endings of Mass Effect 3 are too similar, but if you have played it, and you’re honest about it, you have to admit that similar doesn’t even begin to describe it. They are all functionally identical.

Re: Mass Effect Thread

Thu Mar 22, 2012 9:57 am

Seeing what you posted, they are identical except for some color swaps. 8-bit games homage for the win!

EDIT: Now that BioWare "considers" fan feedback, a DLC with a 'proper' ending might be in the works. With that I see more fan outrage if this is a paid DLC.

Really, fuck EA for taking the good out of BioWare.

a group of BioWare fans has organized a shipment of 400 delicious pastries to the Mass Effect creator's office in Edmonton, Canada.

http://kotaku.com/5896847/gamers-send-b ... 0-cupcakes
We are currently trying to organize the delivery of a mass of cupcakes to Bioware's studio in Edmonton. All the cupcakes will be divided into equal parts Red, Blue and Green colors... but they will all taste exactly the same.

http://kotaku.com/5897653/bioware-gives ... to-charity
They were not, however, gobbled up by BioWare employees.

As a result, instead of eating them all up, BioWare donated all 400 cupcakes to a local youth shelter.

 BioWare and their corporate demon master! Talk about being indoctrinated by the Reaper EA!

No really, I feel that this ME2 is better than ME3. The single thought that you'd play multiplayer to improve your chances against the Reapers but get same endings with different explosion colors really makes me question what has happened to BioWare after they sold themselves to EA. :shake:

Also, they recycled the DLC items from ME2 to become store items in ME3.

Re: Mass Effect Thread

Fri Apr 06, 2012 9:44 pm

So I just finished the Mass Effect trilogy. My Commander Shepard was created back in 2008 when I played the first Mass Effect. Then ME2 came along, I kept my ME1 Shepard and carried it over to the second game. Played ME2 along with all DLCs, and did a second playthrough to save all Normandy squad and crew members, while destroying the Collector Base. Kept the ME2 second playthrough save for ME3 and here we are:

London. The first step to take Earth back. After waves of Reaper-corrupted Turians, Batarians, Asari, Rachni and Krogan, and after the Earth resistance get decimated as the Hammer team make it to the beam that directs you to the Citadel. John Shepard, Garrus Vakarian and Ashley Williams took on the last wave of Turian/Krogan Reaper Brutes. David Anderson rendezvoused with what remained of the Hammer strike team. They decided to make a run towards the beam beacon to get them to the Citadel, connecting the Catalyst to the Crucible and finally end the Reaper threat. Admiral Hackett patched in to say that the Reapers are withdrawing to where the beacon is to defend it and prevent Shepard or any of the Earth resistance from getting to the Citadel. Harbinger docked, fired relentless beams towards the charging forces of the Alliance. I believe Shepard was partially hit. A gleam of light was seen.

Then one of the biggest questions of mankind happened: WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ENDING?!?

The game was supposed to be a closure for all the plots raised from the first game. And it did for me, except for the Reapers and Earth.

There are three choices to 'end' the Reaper threat: destroy, control, or synthesize with them. No way Shepard would spare them after all these years. So he destroyed them. One of the three endings played. And no closure of the main story was said. I assumed Commander Shepard is dead.

Am I disappointed with the trilogy? No. Am I disappointed with Mass Effect 3? No -- except for the multiplayer schtick and the ending itself. There's something missing. After the end sequence there, was no indication if Earth was taken back.

BioWare has announced that a DLC named 'Extended Cut' will be released, I don't know what for. Perhaps to give closure to the crazy ending the game currently has. But then, fans have several speculations about the ending. And this is my favorite one:

phpBB [video]

Again: I wish BioWare didn't 'sell' themselves to EA.

Hey guys I was looking at Mass Effect 3 reviews online and some asswipe mother fucker posted a spoiler in the review. Apparently

Shepard Dies

Is Mass Effect 3 still worth playing?

GOD DAMMIT FUCK THAT GUY.

Actually in one of the endings, he doesn't... I'd recommend playing it, but just don't over hype the ending...

Re: Mass Effect Thread

The gameplay is actually very nice, as well as the graphics. If you don't mind the ending that much, you'll enjoy it. I enjoyed it because I just love shooting at everything that moves.

Re: Mass Effect Thread

Same here. ME3 is action-packed. As with Shepard's death, there's a criteria in-game that should be met for Shepard to live.

If you are after the game's ending, get the Extended Cut DLC.
