The 76ers on Thursday acquired Sam Young from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for the rights to Ricky Sanchez.

The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Young, who plays guard and forward, was the 36th overall pick by Memphis in 2009 out of Pitt. He averaged 6.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 17.5 minutes per game with the Grizzlies.
....
"We feel Sam's overall skill set can be a valuable asset to our team," Philadelphia president Rod Thorn said. "He adds to our depth at two positions."

A nice little, underrated pickup by the 76ers.

I'd say it's not a bad trade. Maybe Young can lift the Sixers offense a bit...

Unlikely, Young's a pretty average offensive player at best

"Average offensive" is more than the Sixers showed that season in quite a number of games...

Not a bad deal. If it doesn't work out, he's a free agent at the end of the season. A pretty solid low-risk move to try and bolster the rotation a little, heading towards the postseason.
