The game featuring Blake Griffin matching up with Josh Smith and was full of exciting dunks for both teams. The crowd was into it right from the beginning and stayed at the end of their seats until the very end. The Clippers looked like they would cruise to an easy victory by putting both Joe Johnson and Al Horford in early foul trouble, the problem: Jamal Crawford, who would finish the night with a team high 31 points off the bench. Joe Johnson was completely shutout in the first half and scored only 1 point off a free throw in the 3Q. It was his amazing 4Q, mainly with a 3PT in the final seconds, that gave the Hawks the upset win.

The Clippers were playing well despit Eric Gordon getting into early foul trouble, which meant an early entry by Ray Cer. Cer quickly nailed a 3 as his first bucket in the NBA, and proved to be ready to go. The game stayed close, but the Clippers were in control, except for the Sixers Jrue Holiday. Holiday kept his team in the game and down the stretch pulled away for the win, handing the Clippers their second straight loss.

Vince Sleepy was a late first round draft pick, but has quickly become the first big off the bench for the Sixers. Sleepy was scouted by these same Clippers as an offensive-minded big man, a nice alternative to the dunk-only defensive-minded DeAndre Jordan. But instead of playing in LA, his hometown, he was sent to Philadelphia to help bolster the new young core of Jrue Holiday, Evan Turner, and Harrison Barnes. Right from the get go, Sleepy showed that he was not afraid of taking the shot. He missed a lot of them tonight, but it is clear that if he works hard, he will be a solid offensive thread in the middle to go along with the rest of the team. DeAndre Jordan was asked about what he thought about defending Vince Sleepy's turn around fadeaway jumpshots he said, "I was like no way! A big isn't suppose to do that! I was just lucky he wasn't clicking tonight...or else I would have gotten embarrassed even more."Pressbook

The Clippers were looking to come back from losing 2 in a row at home and the Grizzlies wanted to continue their success on the road. In the 2Q, the Grizzlies completely took over the game. On defense, they were anchored by Rudy Gay's new franchise high 8 steals and held the Clippers to 0 second change points. TOP EAST TEAM STILL MAKING MOVES
Dec. 18, 2011 - Chicago, IL: Chicago Bulls have just announced the acquisition of SFs Jeff Green and Linas Kleiza from the Boston Celtics. Both forwards have been very unhappy in Boston, barely playing any meaningful minutes behind Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, but now they will both have the opportunity to fill the empty position in Chicago. The Bulls have been lacking a real SF since they traded Loul Deng last season. The Bulls sent big time scorer Ben Gordon, James Johnson, and NLSC rookie Marko Jenjic. The Celtics also sent rookie shooter LaceDarius Dunn.
The Boston Celtics hope to to use Gordon as a scoring punch off the bench, much like his role as a rookie when he won the 6th Man of the Year Award, while try to develop and tap into the potential of Jenjic, who will be mentored by Pierce. For the Chicago Bulls, the departure of Gordon opens the arrival of NLSC rookie George Koukoulis as the starter in the backcourt with Derrick Rose. Fellow rookie Dunn will be backing him up and his shooting abilities will be very helpful for them this season.
All players immediately reported to their new teams and should be ready for their next game in 2 days.
CHRISTMAS DAY
The Los Angeles Lakers will face off against the Orlando Magic on Christmas day. The Lakers will be looking to finally get back on their feet this season after starting the season with a losing record. And the Magic are currently number 2 in the Eastern Conference, which will all help them try to interest superstar Dwight Howrad to stay with the team come this off season.

The Clippers were looking to turn it around before the new year, but were once again dominated by their opponent. Eric Gordon was unconscious in the 1Q scoring 17 points on a perfect 7 for 7, including 3 for 3 from the 3PT line and then his reserve Ray Cer scored 11 straight points to start the 2Q. But after that, there was nothing much else to cheer for as the Spurs methodically took over the game. They forced a total 26 turnovers by the Clippers and held them to only 38% shooting in the second half. After building a lead going into halftime, Tony Parker put it out of reach in the 3Q scoring 12 of his 27 points. The 4Q got so bad that Andre Igoudala committed an intentional foul just so he and the starter could get out of the game.

With Tony Parker doing all the damage, there wasn't much Gregg Popavich expected from his rookie tonight. Despite that, Albano still chipped in 10 points and 5 assists and was a defensive nightmare against any of the Clippers point guards because of his height, choosing to just shoot over anyone at anytime. And even when Clippers SF Andre Igoudala got the switch, this is what he did to him...

With the Clippers looking at the last game of 2011 on a 3 game skid, Blake Griffin took complete control of this game right from the very beginning. While in previous games, the Clippers offense looked for offense from different players in the lineup, this game clearly had sets that featured Griffin. Part of the reason might have been from the Nuggets head coach Don Nelson to play a small lineup most of the game with tweener forwards and Nenê as the only big. With Griffin dominating, the rest of the teams' play was infectious as everyone got into the act. Former Clipper Nick Young lead his team in scoring, but left early in the 4Q and did not return. It has been reported that he will be out for an extended from after a separated shoulder injury.

NLSC rookie Justin Jones was sent down to the D-League team the Idaho Stampede per the request of ]Nuggets new head coach Don Nelson. Since the trade that sent Jason Maxiell to Portland, the rookie Jones was quickly appointed the starting PF. However he has found himself in Nelson's doghouse to the point of being sent down. Nelson still chooses to start another rookie at PF, JuJaun Johnson who was originally drafted by the Clippers and a throw-in as part of the Nick Young trade. Johnson, as did Jones only averges about 7 minutes per game, the least of any starter in the league. The Nuggets plan has seemed to be to start a big in the 1st and 3rd quarter, but then play only SFs Thaddues Young and Danilo Gallinari in the front court. Why Don Nelson does this? No one knows....

GIVE PEACE (ANOTHER) CHANCE
Dec. 31, 2011 - Los Angeles, CA: The LOS ANGELES LAKERS have reacquired defensive forward Ron Artest from the CHARLOTTE BOBCATS in exchange for Richard Jefferson.
The decision came down after the loss to the ORLANDO MAGIC on Christmas night. It was clear that Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol were able take on the offensive duties for the team. It was the defensive end where they were lacking. Recent acquisition Tayshuan Prince does help their cause for the second unit, but there was a clear hole in Jefferson with in the starting lineup. So they made a bold move to reacquire the defensive forward they know best...
Except Ron Artest will not suit up for the LOS ANGELES LAKERS, instead Metta World Peace will be the new starting small forward for the team.
Artest...World Peace was asked in an interview why he decided to chance his name he said,When I was traded away, things were bad. Like when milk spoils and you don't know but you pour it in your favorite cereal and then your like AHH! and then you realize there isn't any more cereal for you to make more and you go look for more but a rabbit stole it and so you chase him and then you keep chasing him and then you finally catchup to him and tell him "Silly rabbit, Trix are for Ron!" and then all of a sudden a giant pitcher of KoolAid burst through your wall and yells "OH YEAHHH!" like he's all that and you yell back at him like "WTF MAN that's my wall!" Yea that kind of bad...you know what I'm talking about?
Anyways so I said "Ron?" "Yes, Ron?" "You know what we need?" "No, Ron please tell me?" "LA NEEDS WORLD PEACE!"
And then when asked where "Metta" came from he said,Huh?

NLSC Watch
- Jerome Barkhorn "Warlock" - Jazz
- Stats: PPG: 10.8 |RPG: 2.5 |APG: 6.9 |SPG: 1.5 |BPG: 0.2 |FG%: 39.5% |3P%: 32.6% |FT%: 82.1%
- Overview: Barkhorn finally made his NBA debut and it was spectacular as the Jazz future looked very bright with a PG duo of him and Devin Harris. However Barkhorn has had as many down games as he has had good games, but it is somewhat acceptable coming off an injury and still building chemistry with the team. Barkhorn has suffered another injury after an awful night in a win against the Dallas Mavericks, but is still able to play and listed as day-to-day with a bruised tailbone.
- George Koukoulis - Bulls
- Stats: PPG: 3.7 |RPG: 1.9 |APG: 2.2 |SPG: 0.6 |BPG: 0.0 |FG%: 45.6% |3P%: 35.7% |FT%: 57.4%
- Overview: Koukoulis has become the starter in the backcourt with Derrick Rose with the trade that sent scorer Ben Gordon to the Celtics. Koukoulis is enjoying all of his new minutes and is slowly improving his all around game, but he still has a lot of work to put in if the Bulls are going to depend on him throughout the season. In his past 3 games, it seems as if he is in a slight shooting slump.
- Albano Spagnoletti - Spurs
- Stats: PPG: 4.4 |RPG: 1.1 |APG: 1.6 |SPG: 0.2 |BPG: 0.0 |FG%: 57.7% |3P%: 63.6% |FT%: 42.9%
- Overview: Tony Parker is still the man at the point for Pop's Spurs, which is why Spagnoletti has been playing limited backup minutes. Spagnoletti does the most with his time on the floor however and is slowly winning the confidence of his coach. In his second month of his NBA career, he has increased his stats in all of his categories and been a very smart player off the bench, scoring at a high percentage and turning the ball over less then 1 time per game.
- Vince Sleepy "Money" - Sixers
- Stats: PPG: 3.8 |RPG: 3.1 |APG: 0.2 |SPG: 0.2 |BPG: 0.7 |FG%: 33.0% |3P%: 27.6% |FT%: 71.4%
- Overview: While his stats have slightly gone down, sources say Sleepy is very happy as a Sixer and his current opportunities with the team. The Sixers are once again at the bottom of the league despite their surprising start early in the season, but Sleepy has been keeping his team up as they all know they are still young. Sources say that the Sixers might be looking into moving Marreese Speights, which would mean more room in the front court for Sleepy.
- Zee Otoo - Wizards - z02
- Stats: PPG: 1.6 |RPG: 1.9 |APG: 0.4 |SPG: 0.3 |BPG: 0.1 |FG%: 33.3% |3P%: 33.3% |FT%: 45.5%
- Overview: Otoo has regressed in his second month of his NBA career and only getting very limited opportunities behind Wilson Chandler, who is having a career season. Otoo was once the leader in 3PT% with all rookies, but has dropped to near the bottom. Sources say that the Wizards have been looking at various offers to trade the young SF, but nothing stable has come up.
- Justin Jones - Nuggets - D-League
- Stats: PPG: 13.0 |RPG: 10.0 |APG: 3.0 |SPG: 4.0 |BPG: 3.0 |FG%: 33.3% |3P%: 42.9% |FT%: 40.0%
- Overview: This very talented PF that has the capabilities to play big and at the same time play fast, which is perfect for an up tempo play such as Nellie Ball. However, Jones has somehow found himself in Coach Don Nelson's doghouse, well him and any other PF on the roster. Coach Nelson has the PFs on the roster start, but cuts them off after that and plays only the SFs. Jones has currently been shipped off to the D-League where he hopes to finally be able to showcase his talents, where he debuted with a double-double.
- Marko Jenjic - Celtics
- Stats: PPG: 3.6 |RPG: 1.0 |APG: 0.5 |SPG: 0.0 |BPG: 0.2 |FG%: 31.6% |3P%: 46.4% |FT%: 52.2%
- Overview: Jenjic went from too many minutes in Chicago to only playing one game so far for Boston. In his single game, his 3 point shooting was still on point. Jenjic is still playing James Johnson in the depth chart, but they are both also behind Celtic great Paul Pierce. As a second rounder, the plan is to have him learn during practice and be brought along slowly, but after going as the first off the bench for the Bulls to not even dressing most games, Jenjic's feelings are starting to go bad.
