It's amazing how the Lego brand has expanded since I was a kid, they've gotten on board with pretty much every popular franchise out there. Mind you, of all the movie scenes to recreate with a Lego set...

Is that the other one they're playing in Brisbane?
I picked up The Dark Knight, Walking Tall, Adelaide 36ers' 1980s: The Golden Era DVD, Undisputed by Chris Jericho, Foley is Good, Basketball on Paper (now I can stop annoying benji in the Random NBA Questions thread), and a 2TB hard drive.

So this morning we can add a bunch of candy, a couple shirts, and my smartass family gave me hand sanitizer and breath fresheners (not as derogatory as it sounds. I work with kids so stuff happens lol). Probably more to report later lol. All in all despite the lack of video games, enjoying the stuff i'm getting

Nah, I think the other Brisbane game is in Feb and involves Townsville.

Tue Dec 27, 2011 2:05 pm
Thick socks
Down comforter
Feather pillow
Money.
Yeah, I will get some good sleep.
I seem to be the only one giving people cool gifts in my family.
Mom- kitchen mixer
Brother- micro x tennis balls that never go flat. A bottle of grey goose vodka.
Nephew- 3 bluray/3d/dvd/digital copy movie sets.
Sister- south park season 13 dvd.
Brother in law- rc helicopter.
Friends- Mass effect gifted through steam, gift card, and liquor.
I plan on getting them all tickets to basketball games, too. I'm not bitter, I just find it interesting that they use money as an excuse. Not that they don't have any, but I save properly for things like this. So the money I got is going towards what I wanted. Do they really not know me?
Tue Dec 27, 2011 5:58 pm
i got around $200 in cash from relatives because they know nothing about me and had no idea what else to get me. it's been pretty much that way since i was 15

That's still not too shabby, better than getting a haul of inappropriate gifts. They say it's the thought that counts but it seems to me that getting someone something they don't like/aren't into isn't putting much thought into the matter. With that in mind though, sometimes cash or a gift certificate is the best way to go.
Wed Dec 28, 2011 1:14 am
Agreed with andrew, although for once this year all my gifts have been spot on.
Fiancee's family got me a few xmas ornaments, the same teacher nutcracker (completely independently of my family) and then surprisingly despite being pretty conservative Christian: Deadpool & Cable vol 2. and Scud the Disposable Assassin: The Whole Shebang. I'm glad they didnt open either cuz they get pretty twisted lol. BUt oh man...i win on in-laws i've decided
