Re: The "How is your Dynasty/Association going" Thread

I restarted my Celtics association as I downloaded roster with rookies, and updated sliders. and still started the season at 0-2, Lost vs Philly by a large margin, and then wasted a 2nd qtr 20 pt lead vs the knicks haha! (Melo sucks!)

Finally i won my very first game in association against the blazers! down 8 66-74 in the last 3:50 of the game, I climb back and got the lead for the first time and then cruise into a 88-82, thanks to the reliable free throws by rayray. Player of the game: rondo 6 pts 14ast 4stl 0TO! :)

Next game vs the bobcats! hopefully we won this one in a lopsided fashion!

New Orleans and Boston, I used them before. Went 14-2 with the C's and didn't like it anymore, it was too easy. Will have to mess with the sliders for more of a challenge if I use them.

Dallas could be nice. The challenge of a repeat, also Rudy is aboard. Not sure of "stealing" teams like Rockets (Axel) or Nuggets (badreligionau) :P But I guess it's a possibility.

Memphis and Toronto are the teams that interest me the most at the moment.

Jao, sounds like trade logic AI isn't very good if you could get a #1 pick so cheaply (N)

Thierry •, I'd say go with Toronto if those are the two teams that interest you. I guess I say that though because I don't particularly like many players from the Grizzlies except for Shane Battier.

All homerism aside, I think Denver would be a really interesting team to do this season. Post Melo and Billups era, Lawson and Gallinari could potentially be beasts in video game basketball (particularly Gallinari).

Decided to start with the Celtics and wanted to start a rebuilding process.Since this is my first shot at the association mode in any NBA series made a lot of trades and it probably looks abit unrealistic.

Celtics get :
Kevin Love,Darko Milicic,both picks in '12 draft
T-Wolves get:
J.O'Neal,Jeff Green and Avery Bradley

Celtics get :
Josh Smith and Joe Johnson
Hawks get
KG,Paul Pierce and Delonte West

Celtics get :
Noah,Boozer,Gibson,'12 1st rnd pick
Bulls get :
J.Smith and Joe Johnson

Celtics get:
Stephen Jackson,Drew Gooden, both picks in '12 draft
Bucks get:
Boozer,Milicic, 2 '12 draft 2nd rnd picks

Celtics get:
DeAndre Jordan, '12 draft 1st rnd pick
Clippers get:
Gooden,Troy Murphy and '12 draft 2nd rnd pick

Celtics get:
both picks in '12 draft and 1st rnd pick in '13 draft
Rockets get:
Nenad Krstic,'13 draft 2nd rnd pick

Celtics get:
Alonzo Gee, 1st rnd pick in '12 draft
Cavs get
DeAndre Jordan,2nd rnd pick in '12 draft

Celtics get:
Mike Bibby(love this guy),'12 draft 1st rnd pick
Heat get:
Carlos Arroyo

Also signed Drew Cook to a 4-year deal.

Too much ?

Yep, I'm pondering current Nuggets sans Smith, Chandler & Martin

So, my list is narrowed down to seven teams. What do you guys say? I added the free agents to their teams and also have the rookies aboard.

Boston is pretty fun, from what I played so far, and Toronto's roster intrigues me :P so they are the frontrunners right now.

    Boston • Chicago • Dallas • Denver • Houston • New York • Toronto

Toronto: Just because you have DEMAR MOTHERFUCKING DEROZAN.

Houston, New York, Toronto

You said you don't want Boston. Don't pick the champions - that's not compelling. The Bulls might be a good fit, but do you really like the team? The players? Don't pick the champions. That isn't compelling. Denver would be very interesting but again, do you like any of their players? Do you really care if Ty Lawson makes an all-star game?

Houston is probably your best bet, with the Scola thing and they have some good assets to trade for other favorites. However, I know you don't like to lose, and Houston does that every other game. New York only works if you like Carmelo Anthony. If you do, you can overcome not being a Knicks fan and dealing with all that culture. Them getting say CP3 and being the other big 3 would be an interesting plot but potentially too easy. Toronto would be an awesome story, but I'm not sure if you'd have the patience to rebuild a team that bad.

So I'd go with Houston or New York myself, but try them out and don't commit yourself too soon.

I vote for Houston, Post Yao era is a very interesting story and I think kevin martin-luis scola can be build up as Kobe-Gasol matchup

As Lamrock said, choose the team that has players you like on it. Choosing Houston is probably the no-brainer for you, but I'd say Denver and Toronto would make for the most interesting stories. Playing with the vets of Boston could be fun and New York would be cool. I'd try and avoid Dallas and Chicago though. Defending champions don't have much room to move and I guess my reason not to choose Chicago would be because they seem to be a fairly common team the last few years.

I'd hate to confuse the issue even more, but two teams I'd consider would be Sacramento and Utah. Both are teams that were close to winning a title in previous decades but were stopped by a dynasty team (or in the Kings case, were just plain robbed). Sacramento have an interesting team with Evans, Jimmer and Cousins, plus I think Tyler Honeycutt could be a potential steal.

Utah you have Enes Kantor and the predicament of how to work him in a team with Okur and Jefferson. Whether or not you'll keep Kirilenko and some other interesting pieces in the squad makes it rather interesting for me.

Of course, if you hate both those teams, you can just waive the suggestions :P

Thanks to everyone :) I'm scratching a few teams then.

Boston • Houston • New York • Sacramento • Toronto

@ L-Train -- Now that I think about it, a story with the Bulls would be Rose, Rose, Rose. The Nuggets? now without a clear leader, the thought of playing with Faried was nice, but nah. The Knicks? I like Melo, and with Amar'e is a great duo, I wouldn't be trading for CP3 though, I'd build around them a little more. Raptors? I'm really up for a story with them, that would be great. I'd have to play some games with them.

@ Kenny -- Now that Yao is gone, I could have a better time with the Rockets :P Bulls and Mavs are out, yeah. I didn't think of the Kings. That would be a nice story too. Added them!
:)

Don't pick Boston or Sacramento

Forgot to mention my trades so far for my Celtics Association. :) before the start of the season, I traded troy murphy and von wafer for 1st pick and Gortat of Suns. I also got Tmac from free agent pool as he is one of my favorite players when I was a kid :) As time goes by, I now managed to get 5-5 standing but still having a hard time in defending the paint, having a consistent player other than rondo, and a solid backup five for the starters. Im also having a hard time playing jeff green and delonte west as jeff green is quite small for being a backup pf for KG, and delonte is struggling from the field.

As my next games would Miami and Orlando, I thought of doing another trade and forget about our plans of saving more money for next seasons freeagents (Howard?)... Trade: Green, Delonte(sad to see him go) 1st pick celtics, 2nd pick celtics for Aaron affalo, Nene and Denver 1st pick.

Here nows my lineup:
Nene
KG
Pierce
Allen
Rondo

Backup:
Gortat
J O'Neil
Mcgrady
Affalo
Bradley
Jajuan Johnson
Carney (not sure why in my roster he is with us :) )

Reserves:
Pavlovic
E. moore

Thierry - every time you've asked for what team to do, it's gone tits up. I recommend you go with San Antonio again, if you want one of those, go with Houston.

Nikeman - yes.

I know, but I don't want to go with the Spurs again. I wanna try a different team. Toronto has the better odds right now. You'll love it Lamrock!

Thierry, you already managed to finish a whole 82 game season + playoffs without simming, all play. Yet you're still too undecided to pick a team like you always did when you were still an association serial killer. For fucks sake make up your own damn mind and pick what you want instead of what others want.

This man speaks the truth. Find a roster that intrigues you.

starting to learn 2k12 defense now. I won 9 of the last 11 games with Nene and affalo in my lineup. Lost to Miami by 25 point blowout and a close one vs OKC. 14-7 standing 3rd seed on the east. :) Traded pavlovic for dampier. Miami, im gonna beat you! :)

Started a chicago bulls dynasty and only made two trades and its year 3, now our starting linup is Derrick Rose, Stephen Jackson, Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer and Brook Lopez, this is a new season so we should be pretty dominant in offense.

Started a Phoenix association in 2k11 (yup still don’t have 2k12), simmed 2010-11 season and did not qualify for the playoffs. Spurs win it beating the Heat in 5 games.

Offseason:
Grant Hill retired. I let Carter, Pietrus and Brooks walk. Got 13th pick of an average draft and get a 6’9 Aussie PF M.Watson. Did a three way trade with the Heat and Kings, got Chalmers, Thompson and 2012 1st round pick from the Kings, Heat got Nash while the Kings got my 2nd round pick, Pittman, Miller and some picks from the Heat. Also got B.Davis and a 2012 1st round pick for H.Warrick and R.Lopez. Signed D.Jordan and A.Afflalo

Line up:
C: Gortat|Jordan|Siler
PF:Thompson|Frye|Watson|Lawal
SF:Childress|Dudley
SG:Afflalo|Dowdell
PG:Chalmers|Davis

Currently 0-13 in 58 games season, only played 3 games. Problem is I don’t really have scorer. Team averaged 91 PPG with Thompson as a leading scorer at 15 PPG.

Will going to look for a franchise player in the draft.

Start Dudley and Davis. Dudley is a great three-point shooter and Davis is really good in 2k11.

Cant hit any shots with Dudley his morale is 0, Davis is the second leading scorer as a 6thman
