...or why Lakers/Magic/Heat/Bulls fans should vote for Obama.
Old news and might have been posted before, but the truth must be reminded to everyone!
http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/20 ... alf-slump/In early March some of the guys went to the museum of Fine Arts for a fund-raiser and got to hang with President Barack Obama. Everyone was a little bit in awe. The President turns to Ray, points at Rondo, and says, “Hey, Ray, why don’t you teach this kid how to shoot?” Everyone starts laughing.
…
KG told me he saw the look on Rondo’s face and the kid was devastated, embarrassed. Dissed by the President, even though I’m sure Obama didn’t mean any harm. Rondo smiled and went along with all of it, but KG told me he could see it in his eyes. It bothered Rondo. It killed him.
The next day Rondo shot the ball horribly. He stopped taking shots after that. He’s so sensitive. I think it was a real jolt to hear the outside perception of a basketball fan who happens to be the President of the United States. It messed with his mind. I’m sure of it.
What a jerk.

What can you say, he's a Bulls fan. We all dream of our own personal "The mailman doesn't deliver on Sundays" moment.

I can understand that. Rondo probably held Obama at a very high regard especially if he had racial sentiments that one of his own was President. Then he gets randomly dissed. Ouch.

Obama's lucky it wasn't the Black Mamba he dissed. Cuz Black Mamba would have elbowed Obama in the throat and not secret service or anything in this world could have saved him.

You are also lucky you're a Canadian, because Obama would ditch you just like what he did on Rondo.
Is he being bitter on the Celtics?

We should feel sorry for him because he's racist? What?

We shouldn't feel sorry for him, but it's not really racism to be proud of a milestone in racial equality. (which it isn't really, but that's how a lot of people see it as, and fair enough)

koberulz's right. Level of racism is just horrid in this thread. Just hear this.

I know Canadian is a better
race but you can't say that explicitly in public. Just ain't fair now iznit.

0-10 against the Celtics in the Playoffs before that awesome first round series in 2009. And the Bulls still lost that series, so in the end there was no healing the wound.

Canadian is a nationality, not a race.

I think that's why my text went italy in that post. and for some reasons our forums been treating nationalism as racism.

Since when?
Sat Oct 29, 2011 1:19 pm
Since Jae declared Aussie a race and me being a racist for thinking Pinoys would lose to the All Star NBA team.

These issues of race may never be solved, but we can have a resolution to Rondo/Obama. I'm thinking some kind of showdown at the next All-Star Weekend.

Quite an entertainting story anyways. I wonder what story Shaq will share with us next time.

Rondo should have listened, even the President knows he needs to learn how the shoot.
Mon Oct 31, 2011 3:42 am
Aigh, just learn how to shoot the ball. I've read a lot about how his hands are too big to shoot the ball well, but honestly, I can't believe that. (although I know he has big hands, which also helps him in handling the ball & passing)

Yeah, I bet Rajon Rondo has never took out the time to learn how to shoot a basketball. Big hands make it harder to shoot the ball well (see: most big men) as its like shooting a Nerf basketball for them. Small hands can be a challenge too if you're a big - as we saw with Kwame Brown taking ten years to develop into a solid backup center.

Look at MJ's hands, they aren't small. Dr. J has even bigger hands.
I'd say handsize isn't a propper excuse for his poor shooting.

Yep, Kwame's development has been something to watch
IMO, Rondo will develop an even better shot soon.

Does no one remember his HORSE game where he kept up with Durant so long they forced it to go to OT?
I used to play with a guy who'd make everything in practice and never make a single bucket in game. Rondo reminds me of that.

Of course, lest we forget the Kobe fadeaway thread.
