Rumor: Assassin's Creed protagonist Ezio coming to Soulcalibur 5

The picture above was provided to us by an anonymous tipster, which we're told comes from a beta version of the upcoming Soulcalibur 5 appearing at recent fighting game tournament. If this shot is real, Assassin's Creed protagonist Ezio Auditore de Firenze will be a playable character in Soul Calibur 5, set to launch next year.Sweet... (Joystiq)

They've had an "assassin" fighting style since at least Soul Calibur 3...so i think im ok with this.

Series that has been in decline since the third one continues to show a lack of relevance or innovation.

I liked soul calibur before it was mainstream enough to get guest characters :hipster:
Seriously, my favorite game on Dreamcast and i played Soul Blade/Soul Edge in the arcades.

I started with the second one, which is great and still the one I put on when someone is over and we want to play Soul Calibur. The first one was at the arcade and pretty fun as well.
SC3 was good, but it was glitchy. SC4 was okay, unbalanced and didn't add anything good to the series. The trailers so far have done nothing to indicate this game will even be as good as Soul Calibur 2, and it probably won't.

Rented it. Better than SC4 I guess. The graphics are much improved and the gameplay's balanced (they took out the Cervantes move that destroyed my Xbox Live rep and got me to the top of the rankings) but the roster sucks (this one takes place long after SC4 so a lot of characters are replaced by their children), there isn't much content, and the single player campaign has less to offer than Soul Calibur 1's.
The campaign is laid out like a PS1 game and has a really dumb story to give each fight context (and admittedly make it more addicting) but its worth playing for nostalgia. Character creation is cool and much improved - unless you liked the way it was in 4 (IIRC my Cervantes ended up wearing fishnets, no shirt and a lion head to make him competitve)
Haven't taken my button matching talents online, but if it's anything like SC4, it's all about finding the cheapest character.
