http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_d ... nba-wp9177You guys heard about this? Damn a number 1 pick saying that?

His skill set aside, it takes an incredibly strong person to deal with the scrutiny he's received and be able to perform at the peak of his game. There's a lot of pressure getting drafted at number 1 and being straight out of high school as well? I guess when it comes down to it, he doesn't really have the skills or the mental capacity to be a typical number one pick.
And Kobe actually wanted to pass him that ball? There's enough pressure with that alone when you consider this:

Everyone knew one thing about Kwame Brown back in the day and it's what Kobe's discussing here. He has shit hands. They're too small for his size and it's why he was useless.
He was the number one pick because Jordan was out of his fucking mind. He could have had Elton Brand, a legit superstar, Tyson Chandler who had all the clear athletic skill set or Pau Gasol but Jordan considered them a loser, unproven and a filthy Euro like that scumbag Kukoc so he passed on them and took the guy nobody had heard of six months earlier because uh well he has size! And then berated him as a faggot until he cried because he was not the best player in league history at 18.
Jordan left, Kwame put together his best season and he got shipped off to spend time with the obsessive narcissistic god determined to replicate Jordan.
Darko would have made Jordan cry for doubting the god-king.
Unlike Kwame everyone on the Pistons loved and feared Darko. Ben Wallace thought he was a god, Sheed called him the Serbian Gangster.
He even helps out opposing teams:
lol Kobe:
Blake Griffin who?
Tim Duncan who?
PATRIOT

Hate Kobe trying to justify losing years because he takes all the credits in the world for winning years. Sure he dealt with Kwame in those years, big deal.

Teammates like MJ and Kobe certainly wouldn't have made it easy, but at the end of the day it's on Kwame. He's not the first player to be lambasted by a teammate and he won't be the last; it's not pleasant and it's an old school mentality but it's also been a part of sports culture through the years. When it comes down to it, he wanted to be treated with kid gloves and while that's understandable given his age and whatnot, it doesn't exactly fly in the profession that he's in. Bad hands and a lack of toughness stood in his way of living up to his potential.

Kwame Brown's busts label had already maxed out. Now he's officially a bum. He makes my city look bad.

I also like to think that Ronny Turiaf makes a pretty good case on this topic:

And that's why we need a continuation of
Dazzling Dunks & Basketball Bloopers. That's a clip that needs to be replayed for years to come.

Man I remember back in NBA Live 2004 Smush Parker would always be among the highest rated free agents in the off-season and would demand something insane like $7 million a year.

I think the only Lakers I don't mind are the ones that played for them during that brief period when they sucked (Smush, Brian Cook, Kwame, Mihm, Walton). They caused Kobe's frustration, so they're okay by me
