You missed out, there were some pretty good games last year. The Finals were definitely worth watching if nothing else, though admittedly that would've been difficult since you don't have Foxtel.

I watched some of playoffs but obviously good series & Finals weren't shown on One live or on same day.

My housemate and I got foxtel hooked up through the X-Box just around the All-Star weekend and I'm glad we did. Having the Finals live was worth the subscription alone.

I think I remember One airing an NBA Finals game between the Lakers and the Magic and the score was given away during one of their sports updates while the game was still playing. I should have seen that as a warning sign that One would just become a joke channel.

When it would go to ad break & that intro graphic for Sports Tonight came up, I'd quickly change the channel & wouldn't change it back for a minute. One is a joke.

Good intentions, poor execution...at least in terms of basketball coverage on One. Of course as we've discussed elsewhere, that's thanks in no small part to the general Australian attitude towards basketball.

Although with the new ownership, the good intentions are gone now as well.

I think I'm going to be spending much of the lockout watching that WNBA Action show that's on One as well.

"Dear Mr. President,

We have a dream: to see Kobe Bryant playing for our Team Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna, the Italian town well known in the world as basket City.

According to your wishes we hope that the NBA lockout will shortly stop but in the meanwhile let us have the chance to see at least for one game the great Kobe Bryant playing with our black and white jersey and be part of our history."

Well... this is what I really wanna see...

"Dear K Rudd,

I have a dream that Kobe Bryant can play in the NBL. He could join a team to be a one-man team or he could just be a one-man team literally and play every game 1 against 5. The NBL needs some kind of legit marketing tool now that Andrew Bogut cannot play. The answer is not Andrew Gaze coming back from out of retirement.

I know that you wish to overthrow Julia and get that PM position. Maybe Kobe could teach you a thing or two about throwing people under the bus as well as taking over in a leadership role. Check out the many great examples that you could learn from including Shaq, Phil and Kwame!

Besides, he could take you to Hooters and you wouldn't get in trouble!"
