Retiring A Legend Is Born III

Hi all.

My laptop crashed 2 weeks ago and the HDD contents were all gone. All my updates were gone.

I think that it is time to pull the plug on this massive project.

What can I say? More than 200 pages of material spreading over 3 threads and 2 different games and nearly 4-5 years. (Not to mention NBA2k9 lasted me 3 years)

Can I say that it was a really really big part of my life?

Because for a while, I loved this alternative reality - as sad as that sounds!

If Reshawn Tyson were to exist in real-life, I think he would be a bona fide star. I would love to see a real life Moses Chara. And a lot of the hardcore basketball lifers probably wish that Jay Gray was in the real NBA.

But after so many updates and virtual seasons - it's time to hang up the jersey.

I will go home and sim out the rest of the season just so you guys know how it all went down. And the updates will be small summaries... but I think it is fitting to end the story here because any updates following this point do not compare to the work and time I have put in beforehand.

Thank you to everyone for their support. Without the readers, this story would not have spanned for so long. It all started back in 2006 and we are now nearing the end of 2011!

I hope that you all join me if I do start a new one but now that I am nearly finished school and got a full time job... as well as me getting back into basketball properly (first time in 18 months) - time is a true commodity to me!

Aww man, Sit my man, you've been a great inspiration, and I loved this dynasty. I understand though, the work has been building up for me too. Nothing can compare to this dynasty. Nothing. And maybe I'll make a roster with Tyson or Chara in it, just for the kicks

The chapters were heartpounding, the reviews breathless. Marvelous, just marvelous.

You'll be missed, I too get caught up in some of these dynasties, though I was really only here for this one, you had great writing skills. I'll mis Reshawn Tyson.

I thought you went insane and just decided to drop this one here and there but the reasons are understandable though.

The word LEGEND truly describes this story you started, unfortunate that it had to end abruptly like this. Still, it was an excellent (team) bus ride.

To even show how I really feel about this story of yours spanning countless thread pages and years I used emoticons above.


Though I think the real reason your laptop crashed is that it can't handle the awesomeness of NBA draft prospect Shad O'Greene.
Just look at Lamrock, he's been a mess at making association stories after he had O'Greene in a story. He's been a wreck because he knows he can't capture that lightning in a bottle when O'Greene was in his story.

It's sad to see this end, but three years was a great run. Definitely the GOAT association story. Here's hoping the sim finally comes out with the Stealth as champs.

Sad to see this one retire, this story has been a great inspiration to almost every story writers in here. Hoping to see another story from you man.

Definitely going to missed the battles between Ty and KD, Sheed's comments and Woody's articles.

Really sad to see this end. I really enjoyed this one, great memories. Being the 5th pick in 2008(?) and then be the most versatile PF in the league. I don't think anyone can argue with this, though I never reached the Playoffs, I always did my best. League leader in PER was special.

Make sure you add Ty, Chara and Gray to your next story, whichever team you use. Even if it's the Lakers, I'll follow without question, your stuff has been inspiring.

Sucks to see such a record-breaking story come to an end. Really wish I could've followed your stories from the beginning, Sit, your writing skills are the best on the board, imo.

Don't know if I would add those guys to my next one.... but any suggestions on teams I could use?

Holy crap. 18 months, and I've followed this one since I started looking at associations (May/June of last year?) One of my favorites here, and what can I say? It's just really sad to see this end.

Use the Bobcats or the Thunder!

I wouldn't use the Thunder, I think we've had enough of Durant.

Maybe the Cavs (a rebuilding project+ early pick= new rook to talk about) or the favorite, the Lakers!

Cavs are interesting if I want to have an auto generated draft class for this season!

Feel free. My Association is about done anyways due to time & about to get 2K12. Even if I was continuing, I don't care if you or anybody else uses same team.

I think I'm going to go back to using Nuggets with Ty Lawson, Gallo, Nene & not much more.

I reckon you should just try out a few teams and see for yourself. The only successful stories I've done have happened sporadically from my own inspiration. You should post your exploits about the Thuggets in a thread though, X. They are an intriguing dynasty team.

Go with the Lakers or the Cavs.

Why Lakers?

Cause they ur fav team. I find it the best, that's why I'm rollin with the Heat.

I just could not be as creative with the Lakers.
