1991/1992 writing a new history... NBA 2k11 retro Association





Lets start the countdown to NBA 2k12 and have some fun with Vintage NBA Basketball.

A season with Shaquille O'Neal and Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway



It was impossible for me to rebuild the 1991/92 roster on my old Chicago Bulls thread in a serious decent way. I could never made the total conversion from NBA Live 06 to NBA 2k11. So i decided to start over again with the 1992 retro mod by Aloncho and Juan.
I also decided to choose another team than the Bulls, the Magic have always been my alltime favourite to that time and their way is not that pre-determined than the way of the Legendary Bulls.


I could not resist , this 1992 season mod is just a great experience. I hope you don 't mind that i revived one of my favourite duos of that time. I am aware that Shaq entered the NBA in 92/93 and Penny in 93/94, but this is just for fun and it is so incredible to have this oppertunity in NBA 2k11.
I know this seems to be very unrealistic on the first view, lets just pretend


The main of this Roster is based on the 1992 season mod by Aloncho and Juan Link NBA 2kMods.
I am going to ignore those Games against the Raptors , Grizzlies and Bobcats. The focus is on ingame videos , pictures and stats and try to revive some of this mid-nineties-era of basketball.

My goal is to reach the playoffs and avoid to face the Chicago Bulls in the first round.

I still remember when i stayed up the whole night to watch the Finals unfortunately the Magic lost every Game

The next year Jordan came back to win his 4th title and in 1996 this era ended when Shaq went to the Lakers...

By the way Horace Grant is still with the Bulls in this.

Operation Sports Boxscores

A black-out night for New Yorks Center Patrick Ewing. Ewing had to struggle early with foul trouble which let him only play up to 18 minutes in this Game. This was a big disadvantage for the New York Knicks.

Without anyone able to stop Shaquille O'Neal inside the paint the Magic had an easy going against the Knicks.

Just a small update on last nights Game. It was an easy victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Doug West had some moments but the whole team was no threat for me at any time.
Tomorrow i will post the Game against the New Jersey Nets, with more detailed boxscore and pictures.

I thought the Timberwolves Game would not be so exciting so i only posted a rough score. The next Game is going to be more detailed. I try to get every team at least one time into focus, the famous teams like the Bulls , Knicks , Rockets etc... of course more important.

Shaq had a solid output with 22 points and 12 rebounds, at the moment Shaq struggles a bit with too powerful defense, he always get around 4-5 fouls a Game.

The Orlando Magic benefited from the early push in the first quarter. Outscoring the Nets 32 - 20 and defending this lead throughout the whole Game.
Despite Drazen Petrovic was able to score 35 points it was not enough to catch up. This was the first defeat for the New Jersey Nets in this season.

The Magic could seal their 4th straight win, dropping only their season opener against the Washington Bullets.

this was the very first team i ever played a dynasty with. I can still remember it was NBA Live 96

I finished regular season with 74-8 and won the NBA Championship.

It feels crazy to play with this team again almost 15 years later

A missmatch on all ends of the floor

The Magic faced one of the weakest teams this season in the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets only won one Game so far, despite having great talents like rookie Larry Johnson, Kendall Gill and Muggsy Bogues.

The clrearest victory for the Magic so far also sealed a 5 Game winning streak.

Sorry i have to disappoint you, but i am more into NBA 2k12 and recent NBA at the moment,

but if someone would launch a mid 90tes association i would follow it for sure.
