z02's suggestion actually would work - I used that strategy for Nellieball and a couple others. The problem is that the rookies are hard to track because they're all over the place. Plus, if you're using player roles, half the teams will have key players 10 points rated lower due to morale. Also, 2K11 has this bug where one team will play an extra half season or so of games. Ridiculous seeing Vinny Del Negro winning coach of the year in 2012 for leading the Clippers to a 56-64 season.

All in all, it could use some work.

I simmed a season and the offseason. When Paul Pierce signs with the Spurs, there's a problem. Also, some 75-rated center (2nd best center in the entire draft) randomly dropped to #30. The ten guys before him were low-60s reserves on their teams, and plenty of crappier players went in the top ten. The whole league was a total disaster after that.

I guess the best way to do it is to control all the teams and make the signings, trades, and draft choices yourself. That seems fairly annoying, but I'll try it at some point.

Prospects with high overall drop in the Draft because of their low potential.
Crappy players in the top ten? You haven't heard of the 2001 NBA Draft?

Had "B" potential. I remember a 68-rated center with a "C" potential going late in the lottery, but seriously, the Spurs struck gold in the offseason. Their 30th pick turned out to be a steal at the 5, then they have Duncan, Paul Pierce, Ginobili, and Parker with Blair, Jefferson, Splitter, Neal, and George Hill on the bench.

Their main five bench players look better than the starting lineups of several teams.

I haven't seen such a big problem with prospects.

My 2011 draft class was pretty strong. A franchise guy at number 1 (rated 81 as a rookie & made the jump to 88 as a sophomore - which is realistic), a handful of other guys in low to mid 70's who are now mid to high 70's. Rest of lottery is high 60's and rest of 1st round is low to mid 60's. There is some good potential across the board.

Whereas 2012 draft class was pretty weak. Number 1 pick rated at 76, number 2 at 74 & then rest of top 5 is are high 60's to 70. Rest of lottery is around mid 60's. Rest of 1st Round is high 50's to low 60's. As far as potentials go, outside of 4 of the top 5, potential is very average.

Started a dynasty with Philadelphia 76ers in NBA Live 08. It had the same rating problems. How can Josh McRoberts be 89? I drafted Kevin Durant with 77 overall. Then I increased the salary cap. In first year I didn't go to playoffs. I drafted a PF that I forgot his name (he was from Europe). With salary cap thing I signed Antawn Jamison and Ben Gordon. Next year we made playoffs then we signed Kevin Garnett (97 overall).

When you do the draft in 08, that means the rosters turn into default rosters, where McRoberts and Daequan Cook were both 85+.

Currently playing a Sacramento Kings association. Awesome so far, except averaging like 20 turnovers per game and having a low scoring game everytime. Have a 6-3 record so far and just beat the Lakers in a close game with Kobe being his usual godly self and somehow decided to become human by not taking the final shot at the buzzer.

EDIT: Just backread the thread. Lol at Ibaka being MVP at Jae association then getting him.

I continued an old NBA 2k10 association, with the Mavs taking Game 2 of the NBA Finals, to tie the series at 1 against the New Jersey Nets.

You'll feel my pain when Jonny Flynn is inexplicably rated 94 in season four or five of your Wolves.

That's perennial All-Star Jonny Flynn. Get it right.

Yep, there's a reason why I accepted Eric Gordon and Clippers' 1st Round pick for him. He's Clippers' best player now (better than Griffin). He's top 10 in PER. Long live Jonny Flynn

I try not to get too worried about these sorts of things.

MIght play an association with 29 games. It's a lockout so it's understandable (I want to make things realistic) so yeah.

I was planning for an association that it's players are all generic, and played at 2075-76 season.

^LOL. Too many unknown faces. That would be boring as hell.

Anyways, won 2 games. Simulated a game accidentally and lost. Derozan and Calderon is beast.o.O

I had the same idea as Badger actually... only have a dynasty/association start 25-30 years after my current Denver dynasty began. 2075-2076 season is a little extreme for me

Badger, make some cyberfaces that look like robots and make everyone look like that robot. You would have one of the more original associations here.

Edited my sliders, and back it up to all-star. lost 2 games in, Denver and Heat.

My Player got fairly boring with my 6'7 PG. After getting KO'd by the Nuggets in the first round, I did something stupid. I asked for a trade. I was almost immediately traded to the Lakers. (N) I couldnt stand being behind fucking Steve Blake in the rotation, so I asked for another trade after averaging 6ppg in 8mpg. Traded to the Heat, where Wade was still recovering from a patella injury. I was a starting SG for them, but Mario Chalmers was a total fucking nightmare to play with. He would regularly wind down the shot clock to like 4, then pass the ball to the worst guy on the floor. I spent the better part of my ten games in Miami trying to devise a way to get Chalmers injured. I even tried to get Dwight Howard to dunk on Chalmers. It never worked, but I was quickly traded to Dallas. (anyone else notice I've been on 4 of the best 5 teams in the league in just over a year?)

Dallas gas been a lot more fun. Injuries to Barea, Beaubios, and their rookie PG have fucked the backcourt. The Mavs actually have a solid rotation of 8 guys (no Chandler :( ) rounded off by a quartet of former D-Leaguers. The backcourt is only me, Kidd, and Terry, but Kidd wants out after a seven game losing streak that has Dallas at 11th. I was hoping my presence will help them. Instead, we sank further and are now 8.5 games away from 10th (Minny with 81-rated Flynn lol). Things just kept getting worse. Kidd got injured for 6-8 weeks so he can't be traded, Dirk is averaging 14ppg on the season, JT is 22% from outside, and I am holding a 12.0ppg average with 3 each rebounds and assists.

Whatever.

I got bored so I started a new My Player. A 7-5 defensive-specializing center who has red hair and looks like an idiot. His name is ... Wait for it... Dennis Redman. he got drafted 38th by New York, who could use a 7'5 guy. I made it through the summer circuit and will start as a sixth man, despite two awful showings in the summer league. His size names it so much easier to defend in 2k11, which, for me, is quite hard.

Will make semi regular updates on this

Thinking about starting a Sacramento Kings association. Can anyone recommend an updated roster patch for NBA 2k11 on PC?

^The 11.3x roster or something like that. Using it, it's good so far though it has 2012 rookies

Darth-Skinnet's update mod. It's very good, although I still end up tweaking a fair bit of the ratings (ex: Dirk Nowitzki is the 25th best player in the league or something like that). It's stuff like this that I change.

Finally gave in and started a dynasty with Miami on TUP11, despite disliking the current day side they where my childhood favourites during the Shaq era. Released Chalmers and signed Rubio from free-agency(forgot he was there tbh thought why the hell not :D). Had a top start going 14-1 so far on the back of LBJ :facepalm2: . Just completed an absolute blowout against the Pacers winning 135-91 on thanks to Rubio running the show. Scored a game high 39 points alongside 16 Assists 3 rebounds 2 steals and 2 blocks. Trying to free-up the cap space so I can ship out Bibby(probably to LA) and give Ricky the starting spot but can't seem to offload anyone as I can't come up with a realistic trade that will actually work without going over one of the teams salary caps.

Dennis Redman?

Can you upload a picture of him?

Re: The "How is your Dynasty/Association going" Thread

Sun Aug 21, 2011 12:22 am

I almost did in the "Countdown to 2k12" thread earlier, because he actually is #44, but I was lazy. I'll upload it later.

After six weeks of averaging 7/3 in about 17 minutes per game, Amar'e, Carmelo, and Douglas all got injured for a few weeks. During that stretch, I got my first 20 point game, my first 10 rebound game (those were actually the same game) and I actually got an A- in a win against Miami with a starting 5 of: Redman | Jefferies | Derrick Brown | Landry Fields | Chauncey Billups.

My 7'5 big man is starting to learn to rebound now, he's touched 10 in each of my last four games, and he got a career-high of 14 against Yao Ming and the Rockets.

Averages: 10.1ppg, 5.6rpg, 1.1apg, 0.6spg, 0.9bpg, 22.5mpg. :applaud:
