nba live 2001 keyboard

i'm able to use the keyboard normally in nba live 2001 but when you go to the game setup, i can't see the keyboard option to play with the keyboard. it only gives me the option of using a game controller which i don't have
anyone know the problem?

NBA Live 2001 is an old game with known compatibility issues for XP and beyond, so it's not unfeasible that it's having difficulty recognising peripherals. Are you using a wireless keyboard? If so, perhaps you could try reinstalling the driver.

its not wireless
funny thing is that the i can play it fine on my windows 7 laptop in terms of being able to use the keyboard but in windows 7, only the jerseys show during gameplay and everything else is black whereas in my xp, everything is perfect but the keyboard

I'm encountering the same problem. Is this something that can be remedied via a patch?

I've been quite happy with my Logitech Dual Analog pad, which greatly resembles a PS2 controller. The second stick doesn't really have a use in NBA Live 2001 of course but it's good for any game from NBA Live 2003 onwards that features dribbling on the right stick.
