He's my favorite player on your team now next to Timmy.

Im the only one who thinks that Redd is an bad signing?
Fri Aug 05, 2011 1:26 am
He'll be good, as long as he stays healthy.

I don't think signing him to a three-year contract is a great idea, particularly for more than $4M/year, but Redd, when healthy will be good.

Well, I thought he would sign somebody as a backup for Manu. Now he has a injury-prone guy?

personally i would have redd as a specialist
get a real back up for Manu and just use redd those few games where we the team needs a 3 pointer

Redd will be coming just to widen the offense much like Peja in Dallas.

Ok so I'm thinking on doing one trade that would land me one of my fav players and also a big relief in the team.
George Hill + Drew Gooden + Matt Bonner + a 1st
-- for --
Lamar Odom + Steve Blake.
Both Odom and Blake have their morale close to 0, both requested a trade. Hill and Gooden had nice games for me, but Bonner was garbage. My lineup would be:
PG -- Parker, Blake
SG -- Ginobili, Redd, Gary Neal
SF -- Maggette, Anderson
PF -- Odom, Blair, Splitter
C -- Duncan, Popov, Cousin/Gist
D-League: Rollins, Cousin/Gist
Thoughts? I think there are more stacked teams. Please, use the / spoilers.

Also glad to see Earl sign for 5 more with the Nuggets
That's the idea
Thanks man!Mavs4Life wrote:A great addition to the bench , maybe he'll be a Jason Terry, & score a ton. Perkins in Minnesota? Where will he fit in the rotation..
T-Mac with JR.... a possible come-back
Perkins in Minnesota was weird too. But then traded a bigman for a point guard, so I guess that's good.qfrmcpt310 wrote:Wow Cavs had some pretty good free agent signings....Hopefully Redd can contribute instead of just adding to the retirement party that is SA
Cavs were the winners to me. I have a lot of 3-point guys now.z02 wrote:Nuggets are going to go insane. Two nutcases in JR and Delonte. Lol. They signed T-Mac $8M per year and Gee for $5M?
I really hope Redd can see some kind of resurgence.
J.R., Delonte, T-Mac and Alonzo together.
Redd is here for a ring!Radioman wrote:Nice sign with Michael Redd, i hope his shooting power will bring you one step further. I am also looking forward how the Nuggets and Cavs will compete in this one.
Thanks man. Nuggets and Cavs are two teams to watch now.Valdis wrote:Cavaliers got Z-Bo and Vince, damn, looks promising.
Yes they do. Interesting signings. Also the Nuggets and Pacers had nice additions.Cruzerr wrote:Awesome, Cavs did the right move..

Why in the blue hell ?
Me? Trying to get Michael a ring before his knees say enough. A huge scorer in his prime. Also tried to sign him in other associations and never could.Ŀąŗvæ™ wrote:Cool stuff man! Two lefties on the 2-guard position looks great!
Manu, Redd and Gary all together

Man, they signed Vince to be your backup, not the other way around
But they will surely end up starting VC at the 3, over Graham, Moon...George7 wrote:I really like Michael Redd!! Great signing there!!!

I'm sure he will...
KidJustin wrote:did u check his knees before signing him?
3 years is a long time for an oldy, injuried player......
do i smell a package trade in the following season of Gooden+Redd?
His knees are fine now. He played all 82 games for the Bucks! Redd will NOT leave. Gooden might.Martti. wrote:He's my favorite player on your team now next to Timmy.

That was the idea. I had a reunion with him and his agent and told them we believe in Michael's 3-pointers taking us to another championship.

That is the perfect place in the court for him

I like the Odom part of the trade, but Steve Blake sucks. You're better off with George Hill there.
I would try Gooden + Bonner + Anderson for Odom.

Odom would be a nice player to get. I don't mind Steve Blake either, but maybe you'd want to get an extra point guard just in case.

Thierry could just sign some D-Leaguer or FA for his 3rd PG. The trade is ok.

SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Spurs today acquired forward Lamar Odom and guard Steve Blake from the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for guard George Hill and bigmen Drew Gooden and Matt Bonner. In addition, the Lakers received a 1st round pick in 2014 from San Antonio.
Odom (6'10'', 230) played in 80 games for the Lakers last season and averaged 10.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 25.0 minutes, being a Sixth Man of the Year award contender for the entire year. He has appeared in 827 career NBA games (644 starts) and averaged 14.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists and 34.9 minutes in his career, while shooting .465 from the field. Initially drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round (4th overall pick) of the 1999 NBA Draft, Odom played four seasons in Los Angeles. In 2003, he was a restricted free agent and was acquired by the Miami Heat, as the Clippers declined to match the Heat's offer for Odom. One year later, Lamar was traded in a package with Caron Butler and Brian Grant to the Los Angeles Lakers for All-Star Shaquille O'Neal. He went to play seven years with the Lakers before today's trade. “Lamar brings the type of experience, athleticism and versatility that we been looking to add to our squad,” said Spurs general manager R.C. Buford. “Having evaluated our roster, we felt it necessary to make this move and bring in two veterans like Lamar and Steve, who could immediately help this franchise to win a ring.”
Blake (6'3'', 172) was chosen by the Washington Wizards in the second round (38th overall) of the 2003 NBA Draft. In eight seasons, he appeared in 581 games (320 starts), averaging 7.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 24.1 minutes. He averaged 4.1 points, 1.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 14.4 minutes with the Lakers last year. In 2005, Blake (then a restricted free agent with the Wizards) was offered a contract by the Portland Trail Blazers, which the Wizards declined to match. In 2006, he was traded (along with Brian Skinner and Ha Seung-Jin) to the Milwaukee Bucks for Jamaal Magloire. On January of 2007, he was dealt to the Denver Nuggets in return for Earl Boykins and Julius Hodge. Blake then became an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2007, and agreed to a three-year deal to return to the Trail Blazers. On February of 2010, he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers with Travis Outlaw and $1.5 million in cash for Marcus Camby. On July of 2010, he officially signed a four-year $16 million contract with the Lakers.

• Other trades:

August 8 | Pacers trade Brandon Rush to the Hawks in exchange for Mike Bibby

August 9 | Timberwolves trade Nikola Pekovic to the Kings in exchange for Beno Udrih

August 10 | Nets trade Jordan Farmar to the Bucks in exchange for Ersan Ilyasova

August 11 | Rockets trade Jordan Hill to the Jazz in exchange for Raja Bell

Yeah, Gooden had some nice games (like in the West Finals against the Lakers), but I had a longjam in the frontcourt and want to develop Popov as soon as possible.z02 wrote:I like the Odom part of the trade, but Steve Blake sucks. You're better off with George Hill there.

I know Blake is dust... but I had to offer Hill, a young player as trade bait, and accept a shitty player like Blake, to get Odom in exchange. A risk I had to take. It's not like most of the scoring went through Parker and Hill last year.badreligionau wrote:Odom would be a nice player to get. Can't believe Shadow agreed!
Remember I signed Quinn before, I can sign someone else in case of injury or suspension.
Houndy wrote:I like it, but Blake isn't the greatest..... go after one of their rooks?
I tried but the salaries wouldn't match. They now have a young point rotation in Hill, Kevin Johnson (NLSCer) and Jerry Underwood (generated rook).Ok, season starting in the coming days! Expect weekly recaps as I won't have much time like before.

...Odom was always a druggy...lazy player on the clips. u can tell he didnt want to be on the team and left as soon as he could. always said bad things about them too, even now
so much potential, but a crappy attitude
by the way...i've met Lamar Odom in person too....
twice
once as a Clipper...he didnt sign my autograph after staring straight at me
the other as a Laker...he is in Vegas with team USA...he ate at the table across for me (he actually stole my table and made me wait an extra hours just to get seated...)
Lamar Odumb

Duh, Winning

consider starting him at the 3, just saying. I feel bad for George Hill, Kobe's gonna overshadow his potential.
