I read that, so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I love Nostalgia Critic. I always die of laughter. The Jaws: Reevenge one made me LMAO.

He's a talented man. I really admire the work he, the rest of Channel Awesome and James Rolfe are doing; anyone these days can get a camera and upload a video review or even make their own web series but not everyone is as creative and entertaining as they are.

Speaking of the Nostalgia Critic, I wasn't really into his latest video. It's another Old vs New, this time featuring True Grit. I've never seen either and neither are my kind of movie, so it wasn't really an episode for me, but other than that the recent Critic videos have been hilarious.

Channel Awesome's Suburban Knights trailer. It does look like it's going to be just as good as Kickassia or better, can't wait.

Anyone watching Suburban Knights? First two parts have been fantastic.

Watched the first 5 parts. I think I liked Kickassia better because it wasnt as reference heavy but this is still pretty funny as is all their stuff. (Y) Looks like a TON of work went into it so kudos to them.

AVGN cameo as the voice in part 6? Best part so far

Agreed, I was glad to see they kept to the tradition of him having a cameo and his character was great for that role.

Final part is now up.

TGWTG.com lags so badly I haven't been able to watch it yet. The trailer looks hillarious, though & I like refrences.

Really? No problems here.

The conclusion was great, very well written and performed and the references were of course hilarious. On the whole, I'd have to say I liked it a little better than Kickassia; not that Kickassia wasn't fantastic as well, but it seemed like they were able to build upon last year and make something truly special and just as entertaining.

Found it on Utube, laughed for 80 % of it. The last few parts seemed sort of repettitve, but that's just me. I loved Part 3 &4. How did they do the playground scenes without someone actually saying "Hey this is a public park, let me play". Looked like it was shot in the morning & early afternoon. Ma-tee was cracking me up, he just kept popping up at random, even though I knew he'd save the day in the end Well written & edited, & just amazing for a project made with low budget. 9/10 RUN LIKE CHILDREN lmao

I'm guessing they picked their spots, selecting times to shoot when there weren't many people around. I doubt they had to worry about permits or anything like that, they just timed it well.

Also, some playgrounds and parks are pretty much abandoned at almost all time. They're lucky they found some that weren't overgrown.

New AVGN:

A bit of a change of pace but a very interesting video in my opinion, going behind the scenes of an AVGN episode. Probably not a bad guide for anyone looking to start their own web series and just a good watch in general.

Just watched the Critic's review of Milk Money, first time I'd seen it. All I can say is wow, what a creepy, creepy premise. Plenty of fodder for Doug to mock, though.

a week late on the comments but that was a very interesting nerd episode to watch. I wasn't surprised he did it all himself, but I was surprised how detailed he goes into little things like the audio levels.

Same, it certainly only enhanced my appreciation for his work. He's a filmmaker by trade though, so he's obviously invested in some high quality equipment.

Never hard of Milk Money, but it was a very, very strange premise. Seems like a plot for a family guy episode, not a feature film. Wonder what parent reactions were to this.

Mostly negative, I'd imagine. It has a woeful score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Caught the Critic's review of Rad. It's another one I never saw growing up and I say so much the better, though as always there was plenty of stuff to make fun of. The main character's "apology" to his girlfriend was hilarious in the way they were completely serious about it.

Also, an update on the AVGN movie (and series) from last month:
http://cinemassacre.com/2011/06/01/avgn-message/

Good to hear that he'll be continuing the series even as they're working on the movie. While I enjoy the detail he's gone to as the reviews have progressed, I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that the reviews will be simpler as they were back in 2006. They were still funny and entertaining and the segues into more of a sketch review haven't necessarily made his later reviews better (even though I admire the work that goes into them).

Cool intro on the new video. (Y) Solid review, kind of nice to go back to the more straightforward reviews . As I said in my previous post I admire the work he puts into the more elaborate videos but it's sort of refreshing that he's going back to basics. The ending was pretty cool, too.

Good episode. He recently mentioned that even though he's scaling back the reviews while they're working on the movie, the next one would be a longer ep because he wanted to do the subject justice and given the rarity of the gold cartridge edition of the game, it was well worth doing something special for it.

That was a nifty little review. His four part Castlevania tribute is probably still my favourite.
