Timberwolves - Heat Notebook
• Posted: December 17, 2011 7:02 PM EDT
THE FACTS: The Heat are coming off a tough OT loss against Joe Johnson and the Atlanta Hawks while the Timberwolves came from a superb win against the Toronto Raptors. The game was a slow tempo game, not much fast break points from both teams in the First Half. The game was controlled by the Miami Heat led by their super athletic phenom LeBron James, James scored 22 Points in the First Half alone. The Timberwolves made their move in the third quarter behind their bench led by veteran Richard Hamilton who led the bench in scoring with 12 points and Ty Lawson scored 6 Points in the third alone after struggling in the First Half, but still the Heat would come up by one by the end of the third quarter. The Timberwolves took charge early in the fourth quarter led by Michael Beasley but the Heat managed a comeback late in the fourth quarter and got a 2 point lead heading in to the last 7 seconds of the game behind a three pointer from LeBron james, but miraculously Beasley drained a three pointer at the buzzer!
THE STAT: LeBron James was an absolute beast in tonight's game as he recorded 39 Points 3 rebounds and 4 assists in the losing effort.
HOT: Aside from Michael Beasley who was clearly the main man in this game but "The Bridman" Chris Andersen was an absolute X-Factor in their recent win against the Miami Heat. Andersen scored 11 Points and grabbed 4 rebounds and his stats was joined by 5 big blocks. Andersen played more minutes than Enes Kanter because according to George Karl, Head Coach of the Wolves, Andersen played most of his minutes well and late in the game he was part of the Timberwolves run that killed the Heat in the game as he was rejecting shots by Dwayne Wade and others and he played tough on the inside and his 4 rebounds all came from second chance points.
NOT: Chris Bosh was a clear non-factor to the game as he failed to deliver for the Miami Heat with his post moves which he usually drains easily but maybe Andersen's defense bothered Bosh's game. Bosh only scored 8 Points and 5 Rebounds and 5 Turnovers in 33 Minutes.
QUOTABLE: "We cannot just rely on LeBron, we lacked guys who can support the main guy in this game. We don't need fancy stats, what we need is team effort and most importantly, the win." - Heat Head Coach, Erik Spoelstra![]()

Lakers - Timberwolves Notebook
• Posted: December 19, 2011 8:23 PM EDT
THE FACTS: Kobe Bryant and the Lakers came out of Halftime really going at it against the Timberwolves, Bryant and Gasol went to work as they chopped the Timberwolves lead to single digits after the Timberwolves lead by double digits for most of the game. Although Pau Gasol was taken out of the game for a short while due to foul trouble he came back as a force along side Kobe. In the fourth quarter a solid team play by the Timberwolves bailed out the defense of the Lakers as the Timberwolves were able climb their way back for the win. But Kobe would have a chance to win it on the baseline for three with 7 seconds left but he failed to convert it but Gasol was able to secure the rebound but kicked it out to Ron Artest but unfortunately Michael Beasley intercepted the pass.
THE STAT: Michael Beasley has just recorded his career high in assists as he dished out 10 assist in their superb win against the Lakers.
HOT: The Timberwolves' bench sparked the Wolves to start the game but Ty Lawson and Chris Andersen led the whole bench squad as they combined for 21 Points and Andersen added 6 Rebounds to his stats and his defense was a big part too. Andersen was the main reason why Gasol had foul trouble and Bynum, Andersen was sent to the line frequently but he proved them wrong, Andersen just missed 1 free throw as he made Bynum and Gasol think twice about if they foul him again.
NOT: Ron Artest was a big factor in the Lakers' loss to the Timberwolves as he failed to make open jump shots during the Lakers run as he was really struggling to find his range after he was stroking in the 1st Half.
QUOTABLE: "This is the game i always dream about of this team, passing and moving the ball. I guess i was right, we've got to move the ball more often for more easy scoring opportunities on offense and get some momentum on defense. That's exactly what my boys did out there." - Wolves Head Coach, George Karl![]()
