Stealth Beat Hornets In New Orleans![]()

March 7, NEW ORLEANS – The Seattle Stealth used a 30-16 third quarter to pull away from the New Orleans Hornets in a potential Western Conference Finals preview. The Stealth triumphed with a 106-90 score line as well as bragging rights for when these two teams meet in the postseason – if the teams make it that far.
Kevin Durant finished with 24 points, 14 rebounds, 6 steals and 3 blocks to lead Seattle. The leading MVP candidate spoke of the likelihood of his team meeting the Hornets in the postseason, “I think that we will see them in the Western Conference Finals if they are a 2 or 3 seed. If they are a 4 seed, we will meet them in the second round. One way or another, we will need to beat these guys to make the NBA Finals. That doesn’t scare me though because as I showed today, we can beat them even when I’m on cruise control.”
Chris Paul had 21 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists in the losing effort. Mark Moore added 19 points. The Hornets have struggled ever since the LA Lakers took their second place spot in the Western Conference. With just over a month left of the regular season, former MVP Paul does not believe his team can catch the Lakers for the second seed. “We would love to be the second seed in the West but the Lakers are a bit ahead of us,” Paul states, “There is just too much ground to make up.” When asked whether it really did matter at the end of the day what seed the team was, Paul replied, “I suppose not. We’re a good enough bet to make the NBA Finals. We just need to take care of business better at the important points in games.”

Durant Puts Stamp On MVP Bid![]()

March 11, SEATTLE – Kevin Durant put on a show for the fans as he led Seattle to their 50th win of the season as well as score a career high of 59 points. This performance was perhaps the greatest individual performance of the current season and a nice touch on Durant and his team’s dream season as they march on to what could be their first ever NBA championship. It is also the highest individual points output in a game for this season.
Durant was unstoppable as he shot 23 for 35 from the field. He hit 6 three pointers and grabbed 7 rebounds in the effort. There was nothing that the star struck Sixers could do to slow down the NBA scoring machine. Coach George Karl opted to sit his star player out for the entire fourth quarter despite the crowd chanting ‘Kevin’ and ‘60’. “I know that everyone wanted to see how much more Kevin could add to his total but the game was finished at that point (in the fourth quarter) and I need to rest him for the playoffs,” Karl explained.
Durant didn’t take offence at being on the bench for the end of the game, “I could have scored 82 if I really wanted to. I’m just staying off the court and letting the others have a run because if I’m there, no one on both teams is going to really have much fun.”
Reshawn Tyson had a quiet all-around effort of 22 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Andre Iguodala finished with a double double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. Iguodala left the stadium quickly after being on the wrong end of his match up against Durant. The 50-12 Stealth can wrap up a playoff seed with a win in their next game against the Atlanta Hawks.
