New York Knicks @ Minnesota Timberwolves
SEASON OPENER
Box Score:
Game Recap:
In the first game of the regular season, the New York Knicks got off to a good start with a double-digit win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. After an initially slow start by Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks in the first quarter, they stormed in front with a 12-4 run in the second quarter, capitalizing on Kevin Love's early foul trouble. In the fourth, the Timberwolves made a late run while the Knicks bench corps was on the floor, but this run was quickly stifled by superior interior defense from Ronny Turiaf and Amar'e Stoudemire. The Knicks responded with a 14-4 run, capped off by several dunks from the Knicks.
Jordan Player of the Game: Amar'e Stoudemire 25 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks.
Scouting Report:
The Knicks had a terrible night from long-range, shooting a very poor 21% from behind the arc. Conversely, both their perimeter and interior defenses were stifling, forcing the opposition to shoot 13% from three point, and blocking a very respectable 9 shots.
Areas of Improvement:1.Three point shooting
Images from the game:
2.Turnovers
3.Bench production

I don't hate him, not at all, but the last thing the Knicks needed was an iffy point guard. By drafting Shumpert they failed to plug one of their many holes. So I'd prefer to have my own draft to...rectify that. The guy's a solid 2nd round pick, but I can't see the sense in drafting him when there are so many other thing wrong with the Knicks.
Thanks

Yeah well. Not a good pick but i think Iman can still help the Knicks with Fields having his high and lows.
11/17/10- Front office sources have just confirmed a trade between the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers. The trade will have the Knicks sending guard Anthony Carter and forward Bill Walker to Los Angeles in return for young prospect DeAndre Jordan. This trade adds a solid piece to boost a lackluster Knick frontcourt, while ridding them of the expensive contract of rarely used Anthony Carter. Jordan is expected to split playing time with Ronny Turiaf, with Jared Jeffries moving to his natural power-forward position.
Knicks Trade Grade: B+
Clippers Trade Grade: F
11/18/10- In an unexpected move, the Toronto Raptors have fired head coach Jay Triano after a poor 0-8 start by the team. LeRoy Duncan has been brought in as his replacement. While there were talks of a replacement for Triano, a firing this early in the season is sure to have an effect on team chemistry. Hopefully Duncan's new schemes can reinvigorate this stagnant Raptor offense.

New York Knicks (5-3) @ Dallas Mavericks (5-2)
Box Score: DAL - NYK | Team Stats
Game Recap:
In the final game of the month and road trip, the New York Knicks defeated the Dallas Mavericks in an epic culmination of the Texas Triangle. In the first quarter, Carmelo Anthony got off to a quick start, finishing the game with 32 points and 3 boards. As in the previous three games, Amar'e Stoudemire struggled in the first quarter, and ended the game with a mediocre 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Chauncey Billups started hot, draining two 3 pointers in the first five minutes. He ended the game with 25 points and 11 assists.
In the second quarter, while going up for a rebound, Carmelo Anthony came down on his right foot wrong and sprained his ankle. This, combined with injuries of backup small forwards Derrick Brown and Renaldo Balkman, caused the Knicks to endure a thirteen point deficit at the half.
Despite his injury, Anthony returned in the second half and led a furious comeback, forcing the game into overtime. In overtime, with 3.2 seconds left and down by 1 point, Carmelo Anthony drained a quick stepback shot from the elbow to give the Knicks the lead, and ultimately, win the game.
Jordan Brand Player of the Game: Carmelo Anthony- 32 points, 3 rebounds
Scouting Report:
The Knicks had another poor night from behind the three point line, making only 38% of their shots. However, the team's overall field goal percentage was excellent at 53%. A major factor in this game was turnovers, losing the ball 21 times. This, in turn, gave the opposing team a +11 advantage in steals.
However, the team forced the Mavericks to have an even worse night behind the arc, forcing them to only 27% from downtown. In addition the team drained 87% of their free throws.
Areas of Improvement:1. Three point shot selection
Images from the game:
2. Ball Control
3. Passing
4. Preventing offensive boards

NOVEMBER 2010 RECAP
With the first month of the season in the books, it's time for a look around the league.
The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten off to a hot start, thanks to a stellar 32 points and 3 steals per game from superstar shooting guard sensation Kobe Bryant. The Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder are not far behind. Last season's scoring leader, Kevin Durant, hopes to retain his title this season, and is currently second in the league in scoring. For the Mavericks, everyone has been surprised by the efforts of 37 year old veteran point guard Jason Kidd. Kidd currently leads the league in assists with 12 per game.
Over in the east, the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks vie for the top spot in the conference and a trip to the playoffs. The New York Knicks are led by frontmen Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire. Carmelo is third in the league in scoring with 31, with Stoudemire contributing an astounding 4 blocks per game to the thin Knicks frontcourt.
Surprises of the month: Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers
Let-downs of the month: Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets
Team to watch: Los Angeles Clippers
All-Star Vote Leader: Kobe Bryant- 978,300
Breaking News:
12/3/10- Front office sources have confirmed that Tim Duncan is on the trading block. Said Duncan, "I'll play for any team." The Nets and Cavaliers are reported suitors. The 34 year old Duncan is averaging 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks this season. Duncan has been the cornerstone of the Spurs franchise for over a decade. There has been no reported reason for placing him on the trading block. Stay tuned for updates.

New York Knicks (7-3) @ Memphis Grizzlies (7-4)
Box Score: NYK - MEM | Team Stats
Game Recap:
In a stunning display of dominance, Carmelo Anthony dropped a career high 54 points against the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden. He also made a career high 24 field goals out of 38 attempts, shooting a sizzling 63% from the floor. Behind Anthony was Amar'e Stoudemire, who had 28 points, 7 rebounds, and a stifling 4 blocks. For the Grizzlies, OJ Mayo had 21 points, Conley had 18 points and 11 assists, and Marc Gasol registered 8 points and a career high 16 boards.
The game was very back and forth, with both teams going on multiple double-digit runs throughout the four quarters. The Grizzlies initially capitalized on early foul trouble for the entire Knicks team, with guard Chauncey Billups and forward Amar'e Stoudemire amassing a very dangerous 4 fouls at the half. Despite this, Carmelo Anthony took the reins out of the half, scoring a jaw-dropping 24 points in the third. He continued this hot streak throughout the game and led the team to a close victory over the young Memphis squad. In the post-game press conference Carmelo Anthony said "Man, this is a great feeling. I had a great game, Chauncey did a good job getting the ball to me over and over, and 'Mare was sending balls out of there left and right. But it means nothing if we don't play in May." The Knicks are obviously serious about being contenders this season, and this could easily become reality if performances like this continue.
Jordan Player of the Game: Carmelo Anthony - 54 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks
Scouting Report:
Yet another poor night behind the three point line, with an absolutely unacceptable 17% field goal percentage. Coaching will have to schedule long-range practices sometime this week to remedy this problem. In addition, the team fell behind early due to early foul trouble. They ended up with 11 more fouls than the opposition. Defensive schemes will have to be altered to limit their aggression and steal attempts. There was also a complete lack of production from the bench unit, scoring a very forgettable 9 points, 13 less than the opposition.
Positives: [+]1. Points in the paint
2. Efficient shooting
3. Interior defense
4. Blocking
Areas of Improvement: [-]1. Fouling
