Stern to start 2011-2012 season
Posted October 15 2011 8:05PM
NEW YORK, NY -- Finally, after a very long wait, NBA Commissioner David Stern had finally decided to start the 2011-2012 season. Although this was a good news, there's still bad news accompanied into it. Stern had announced the start of a shortened 2011-2012 season. Instead of playing 82 games, games were now reduced to 29 games. Leaving teams facing only once other teams. Stern said that 82 games are too long and it affects players health, leaving them with season threatening injuries.
Another part of the bad news is that, 2011 Free agents are only allowed to sign a 1 year contract among teams. Restricted free agents will stay with their team for 1 more year. This year's free agents will clash and compete with 2012 Free agents.
Teams owners and Players are quite contented for this temporary solution by the Commissioner.

The first game of the Warriors and the Clippers seems to be a little physical. The game ended up with 3 players being injured and one with a serious injury. Mo Williams and Eric Gordon of the Clippers both suffered a twisted ankle while Dorell Wright of the Warriors suffered a broken ankle and expected to miss 6-8 weeks of basketball action.
The first quarter was a very close competition between the two teams. They exchanged baskets and changed leads. The game of the Clippers suddenly changed when Mo Williams and Eric Gordon suffered a twisted ankle. Both were called an over the back foul while aiming for an offensive rebound, each falling in to the floor with so much pain in their ankles.
The Warriors team felt the disappointment of the whole Clippers squad and takes advantage of the opportunity, outscoring the Clippers for 3 quarters. But then when they were celebrating for their easy win, Wright, who's aiming for a defensive rebound, had a bad landing and broke his ankles.
Ellis and Curry led the Warriors for their first win of the season. The Warriors provided great defense forcing the Clippers a lot of turnovers that led to steals and fast-breaks. While Kaman and Griffin, who almost had a 20-20 performance, led the scoring for the Clippers.

A very disappointing loss to the Bobcats. The warriors struggle to find their rhythm and didn't provide a great defense leading to a huge scoring game from the Bobcats.
First quarter was a close match with Lee and Ellis providing the scoring needs for the Warriors but then, in the next 3 quarters, the Warriors struggled to fight this wild Bobcats. Curry cannot connect with his shots, ending with 17 points with a poor5-15 fg. Rookie Klay Thompson had a huge game coming from the bench with 18points, 5 rebs, with 7-10. Coach Mark Jackson said that if Thompson would keep playing like this, he could jump into the starting lineup while Dorell Wright is out.
For the Bobcats, a solid effort overall for the team. They found their shots early, rebound the ball very well. provided a great defense. Recently hired TNT Analyst Shaquille "The Superman" O'neal said that, "Looks like the Bobcats will make the playoffs. The Bobcats, who defeated the Orlando Magic in their last game, also defeated the Warriors tonight, are now 2-0 in their home court. Maggette contributed a franchise record of 46points and with the help of Rookies Bismack Biyombo and Kemba Walker for the W.

I think you've got to involve Reggie Williams and Biedrins in your offense. But you got a huge points from your bench, but i guess that wasn't enough..
