Help! (2K Decision)

Postby Mavs4Life on Sat Jul 09, 2011 2:37 pm

OK, so I'm really tired of my 360 version glitching out. The P version is much better (mainlly b/c of the mods u can do), & I want to know, should I order 2k11 for PC or buy 2K12 when it comes out. And 1 more thing, how much is 2K for PC new, is it 65 bucks like for 360 & PS3? Feedback would help, thanks.

That's for 2K11. The previous 2K for the PC were 20 bucks. I don't know if it will go back to $20 for 2K12 if Jordan is gone.

Even better, thought it would be that price since most pc games are 19.99. Hopefully it'll go back down to 20.

You could probably get a pretty good price on NBA 2K11 PC if you shop around or take advantage of a sale on Steam. Depends what your budget is like seeing as though NBA 2K12 is coming out in a little under three months.

Budget was a big thing, I didn't wanna pay 60 bucks again. The one problem is my video card. While I can free space on my hard drive, my video card meets none of the standards.

Video Card
Minimum: DirectX 9.0c compatible Video card with 128 MB or more memory and with Shader Model 3.0 support: ATI Radeon X1300 or greater; NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or greater
You Have: Intel(R) 82845G Graphics Controller
Upgrade Suggested: Unfortunately, your Video Card does not meet this requirement. Click here to see some recommendations.
Features: Minimum attributes of your Video Card
Required You Have
Video RAM 128 MB 64.0 MB
Hardware T&L Yes No
Pixel Shader version 3.0 0.0
Vertex Shader version 3.0 0.0

Well, that's going to be an issue whether you get 2K11 or wait until 2K12, as there's no way 2K12's requirements will be any lower. Of course, there are workarounds, so maybe pick up NBA 2K11 cheap and give them a try, rather than waiting and paying full price for 2K12 and then not being able to run it. Then shop around for the best price once 2K12 comes out.

i like to tell people that as a test, NBA 2K9 has a demo available through Steam. I dont know if that 3D analyzer program can run through Steam games or not but you can try.
Opinions are my own.

Yeah, I might do the same. PC you can do so much (plus use an Xbox controller) while 360 is limited.

Exactly, but if I use 3d analyzer, I won't be able to mod (most mods are for high quality) Still, saving 20-30 bucks for a 360 version on my computer is still good.

EDIT: Never mind,as long as I have medium settings the mods should show up. The 2K9 dmeo is no longer there! :x

There's other games I have that don't have video support, I'll try one of those.

If your video card is the only hardware that isn't up to scratch and you're looking at getting into PC gaming, maybe it's time to upgrade? Again it depends on your budget so I realise that might not be feasible at this time, but if that's the only thing holding you back then you might be able to get a lower end card that's supported by the game to tide you over on medium settings.

I looked up good upgrades for the graphic card I have & most people are saying I'd have to update my power supply & my video card to get a good quality game. Depnding on what video card I get it could cost almost 3000 bucks. I'd save more money by just getting the 360 version again. But, I'm still gonna see what I can do between now & December or so, when buying the game becomes pointless. Thanks for the help, guys.

EDIT: I now this is offf-topic, but I have an 03-04 roster for my 360, & they were able to get the Sonics jerseys (even though the court is still OKC), & I thought that was impossible for console versions?

Is it by portlandblazer? His rosters have hex edits for uniforms.

Yup, it's by portlandblazer. Looks like it's the clossest 360 gets to having modding skills like the PC version.

SO next year we'lll have mdding skills of the PC on XBox? If so I'll stick to console, modding was one of the main reasons I wanted the PC version.

It won't be like the PC ones, but yeah, a little modding.

A decent video card upgrade and new power supply that can handle it shouldn't cost anywhere near $3000. You'd be able to get a brand new computer that can run all the latest PC releases for much less than that.

You definitely shouldn't have to spend anything like that unless you really wanted to. I'd definitely look into it and shop around. (Y)
