I know they are/can be bitches and their rightful place is in the kitchen but what conspiracy is this? How much is Axel paying the admins to maintain the status quo? Is it Jackal's idea?

There's only been the one, who decided to start attacking everyone in a poor imitation of Ruff Ryder's flame out. She didn't, however, backtrace us and report us to the cyber police.

Good thing females aren't smart enough to offer you money and buy the site.

Greg Ostertag is at my work. He showed up the other night and one of my co-workers saw him. I still have yet to see him walking around, but I would imagine he would try to avoid walking around to avoid attention.
Sat Jun 25, 2011 4:34 pm
Really? People are going to go nuts over Greg Ostertag?
Sat Jun 25, 2011 5:19 pm
yeah i dunno about that, but Earl Watson came today. I instantly recognized him and welcomed him and called him "mr. watson"
seemed pretty cool, was here with his family
Sun Jun 26, 2011 2:33 am
There's sure to be at least a few people who would recognise him.

~10 more days and I will be away for 11 months (that includes away from NLSC) to the military service thingy, I'm not sure how much I get internet access during that period if at all, which also means due to the lockout I won't be missing a lot of NBA in the meantime

(at least somebodys happy about it).

ehhh, i dunno. my co-worker that follows basketball (not to the extent that i do) knew his face, but didnt know his name. and he's not exactly 7 feet tall like Ostertag. I stood next to him and he was about 5'10" or 5'11" at best. he was there with his mom and family and to be honest they looked like a normal Mexican family that would visit us

Sorry, I was referring to Ostertag.

I'm approaching my last week of work. Still not really sure how I feel about it, but I guess it'll all sink in when I have to give back my key and what not. Kind of looking forward to the time off and I'm hoping to get a few things achieved. Hopefully I won't spend too much of my savings in the process.
Mi goreng noodles and daytime television here I come!

Speaking from experience, that's something you've really got to watch when you take some time off between jobs. The savings can dwindle pretty quickly unless you adjust your spending habits; less big nights with ample drinks and a taxi ride home, more nights with a beer or two at the beginning of the evening then switching to soft drink the rest of the way so you can drive home.

After feeling the beginnings of it last night, I've woken up this morning with a cold. Not the start to the week I was hoping for, but I'll press on.

I probably only really go out drinking about once a month. I generally spend more eating out than I do getting drunk. But yeah, I'll have to cut back on that too.
It's never good starting the week off sick. It's already hard enough getting out of bed in winter.

the australians keep coming through. last night, an australian family passed by my co-worker (who's white) and me on their way to dinner at Coco's and we chatted it up with them for a little bit. they did ask us about how much they should tip, and i schooled them on how to pronounce the name "Nguyen" and their little boy said: "you know I have a compliment... well, it's not really a compliment, but just stating a fact. I kind of like the look of Chinese/Japanese people. i dunno, i just do"

Definitely. It goes without saying I'm sure but luxuries are also out until the cash flow starts up again. I ate into my savings a little too quickly when I was out of work a few years back when I gave into a few impulse buys here and there, like DVDs. It all adds up.

No question. The good thing is that work isn't a problem since I'm self-employed, so I don't have to worry about dragging myself to work ill or lose my job. No sick pay of course and if I don't work I don't get paid, but fortunately previous customers are generally happy to wait a couple of days to have their PCs looked at when I'm ill, or they'll bring it to me. It's not like I'm at death's door either so if it came down to it I could go out on a job if it was an emergency or a new customer who's more willing to call someone else if I can't make arrangements soon enough.
Worse still, I like to exercise every day to the point where I'm now pretty much addicted to it, so I'm currently trying to get pumped up enough to head out for the usual 5k run this afternoon. I felt pretty good on the run yesterday while the exercise high was going but then spent the afternoon in bed.

Good to know there are Aussies trying to learn the customs and etiquette when it comes to tipping.

As a bit of a follow up, I received my Cert III and Certificate of Completion for my trade today. Nice having everything in writing. I'm pretty stoked about Queensland's 6th win in a row as well.
On the down side, I think I'm getting a cold, but atleast I won't have to use any sick days

Good work, that's got to help out some in the job hunt.

I wasn't so thrilled with the result of the State of Origin, but fortunately I'm not really a footy fan so I'm not too devastated at the same time. I'm far more bummed by the NBA lockout.

I miss the Live 07/08 Pinoy patchers.
Sun Jul 10, 2011 7:33 pm
Haven't some of them moved on to 2K11?
Sun Jul 10, 2011 10:34 pm
I think they didn't transfer. Haven't seen them for a while.

After reading about wisdom teeth extraction, I'm scared for tomorrow.
Mon Jul 11, 2011 5:06 pm
Are you getting them pulled in the chair or removed surgically?
Mon Jul 11, 2011 5:15 pm
They're removed surgically. No one in their right mind would try to pull impacted wisdom teeth. They'd lose their license by the end of the day.
Are you going under, z02?
Mon Jul 11, 2011 5:42 pm
my mom went the cheaper route and didn't want to do the anesthesia. i took a pill the night before and the day of to put me out. i remember waking up while he was pulling em out but i dunno how they put me back to sleep.

I just had a shot. About 30 seconds later, I was out. It was kind of creepy the way the nurses were looking at me, and then they turned on some music through a boom box. Woke up on a cot with gauss in my mouth, and to done more weird stares.
