Pistons slide past Sonics in The 4th, Allen Gets A Dub-Dub

Image
Rip & Sheed Pre Game High 5 : ]

1st Half: The Pistons started off strong with a Chauncey Billups alley-oop to Tayshuan Prince. The Sonics were hot form three led by Ray Allen & Rashard Lewis, the Sonics first two FG were 3s. After that, all imploded. The Pistons couldn’t knock anything down, while the Sonics pushed to break to get easy buckets, leading to a 12-2 Sonics’ run. Regaining composure in the last 2 minutes the Pistons ended the quarter only down one 23-22. Rip led the team in scoring with 7 coming on the 1st. The 2nd quarter was the lowest scoring of the game for both teams, Sheed Wallace saying after the game it was because, “we’re the best defensive team in the league”. The Sonics also upped defense, especially Ray Allen who blocked two mid-rangers in that quarter. Rebounding was also a fight, the “Wallace Bros.” finished the game with 11 boards apiece. The 2nd half ended 39-37, Sonics on top.

2nd Half: The Pistons came out to do something, they usually aren’t accustom for: score the basketball. They started the quarter on an 8-0 run, including a way deep three from Rip Hamilton. The Sonics came back with a vengeance, though going on a 9-0 run, & the game changed from a defensive battle, to an offensive run. All this time Sheed Wallace had pulled down 6 boards & scored 12 points, including a 3-pointer. The 3rd quarter ended 65-61,Sonics. The Pistons had ended every quarter on the bottom side, but fans & players alike we’re still highly optimistic. The 4th was a back & forth battle until around the 3 minute mark. The Sonics we’re sloppy with the ball,& Tayshuan Prince used the fast break “Tap, Recover & Run Method” he jokingly called the “play”. “Basically I’d tap the ball over to C. Billups & then I’d run up the court. Then C would get the ball & I’d be alone up court with a finish. After that happened twice in a row The Pistons were up 85-89with about a minute the left. Playing amazing defense, allowing no baskets, The Sonics were forced to foul Rasheed Wallace with 17 seconds left. He made only 1 of 2 from the line, but it didn’t matter. The Pistons won there first home game 85-90. 6 Pistons finished with 10 points or more.

Piston Of The Game:
Rasheed Wallace: 18 PTS,11 REBS,7-12 FG,1-2 3PT

Sonic Of The Game:
Ray Allen: 28 PTS, 12 REBS,4-6 3PT,8-9 FT

Awesome.

I want this thread to be diametrically opposite to the 02-03 Mavs thread -- all scores in the 60s, heh.

2k11 using 03.04 rosters. I'm gonna play @ ATL, so get ready. It's sorta tough to play with a more defensive team, there are never enough shooters on the floor. It's real fun though & I'm gonna have a special update soon... well in 20 minutes.

Hardwood Classics: T-Mac Scores 60 While Playing PG

Postby Mavs4Life on Fri Jun 24, 2011 2:02 am

Instant Classic: T-Mac plays PG & Scores 60 On Rookie Wade

This season NBA superstar Tracy McGrady plays PG since Deshawn Stevenson's main position is the SF. Think that'll stop him from pouring in buckets? Nah. T-Mac went up against a rookie Dwayne Wade for most of the game, but still poured in 35 first half points, & 3 3PTers. In the end T-Mac scored 60 & ONLY MISSED 6 SHOTS,& 1 3-POINTER. The Magic blew out the Heat on their home court 116-94. It will definetly go down as one of T-Mac's Greatest Games

Other Big Games: Shaq goes 32 & 20 in only a 10-point victory over the Suns.

Go right T-Mac. I'm using Magic 03 roster. Got a PG, I forgot who.haha. But yeah. We lost on the ECF. But he's a MVP contender, he even got on the first place before he got a sprain.-.- Grant Hill is on the Magic as well.

Grats on the big win against the Sonics! I am already looking forward to face the Pistons.

btw in my association Ray Allen is still with the Bucks. and T-Mac only sinked 52 against me, we will see how you compete against him. Maybe you have some defense for him.

Thanks Guys. The @ Hawks recap will be up later today. It was a great game, with a ig offensive suprise. With the T-Mac situation, I'll problably double team him when the time comes.

Wallace To The Rescue, Pistons escape the Hawks on the Road

Image

Stephen Jackson won the battle, but the Pistons Won The War

The trouble with the Piston’s first few games is that while they had a good defense, a consistent offense was nowhere to be found. That was until tonight against the Hawks. The team found that they’re a much better team inside the paint, than from the perimeter. Using the inside scoring principle the Hawks flowed for most of the game. There was still no stopping the Hawk’s Jason Terry.. Terry finished with 23 points & 4 steals. Bob Sura also had a surprise performance, also finishing with 23 points. Stephen Jackson missed a triple-double by 3 boards, finishing with 22 points, 7 boards, & 13 assists.

On the Pistons side, Big Ben had one of the best nights in his career, scoring a career high 24 points, grabbing 15 boards, dishing out 6 dimes, & blocking 7 shots, a near quad-double. Rasheed Wallace led the team in scoring with 19 points & 12 boards, Chauncey Billups also had 29 points & 3 steals. On a side note, Richard Hamilton fell on a bad angle after going up for a rebound & sprained his ankle. He was cleared to play in the game & is listed as day-to-day. The Pistons finished off the Hawks 127-120.

Piston Of The Game:

Image

Ben Wallace- 24 PTS,15 REBS,6 ASTS,7 BLKS, 11-14 FG

Note: Next Game played will be @ Sacramento

Well 7 Steals and 6 Assists aren't that close to 10. Still pretty impressive game though from Wallace.
11-14 FG fantastic when your talking about Ben Wallace (Y)
