I have a feeling Chandler was inside the no charge zone, but meh... Miami's got to clamp down that defense!

It doesn't matter if the offensive player catches the ball that deep. It's a bit of a fuzzy rule though, no question.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 1:39 pm
And just like that, Mavs pull off 10 straight. A game of runs, hopefully Heat don't have last one.
EDIT: You're a champion Bosh

EDIT #2: Terry stepping up big down the stretch.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 1:41 pm
Very costly free throw by Bosh...
EDIT: Holy crap... When you're on fire, you don't miss even without seeing the basket o.O
I guess the Mavs take this one... Miami needs to win both at home.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 1:49 pm
Nice work Mavs.
Hope you can close it out in game 6
Fri Jun 10, 2011 1:50 pm
Miss free throw, LIKE A BOSH!
Terry, cold-blooded.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 1:51 pm
Cold-blooded three by Terry, what a shot! It wasn't decided at the buzzer but the final score doesn't tell the whole story as to how competitive this one was. Triple double by LeBron but only two points in the fourth quarter.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 1:53 pm
My mom called right after Terry hit the 3 & was going crazy. That's true basketball, when you can get someone that dosen't like sports hooked in a split second.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 1:56 pm
This team is ready. They just deserve to win this year! Wade, James and Bosh can go for 10 straight championships after this year for all I care, because just for his individual greatness, LeBron deserves a ring. But not this time around.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 1:59 pm
Dirk, Kidd, Terry, even Stojakovic, are all due a ring, I can't deny that. I'm rooting for Miami, but would definitely be proud of the Mavs veterans if they do get the win. The Big 3 have a few years left to snag some rings. Most of the Mavs don't. It's kind of a mixed feeling haha
Fri Jun 10, 2011 2:05 pm
This is the consecuence for give life to a semi dead.
Miami couldn't clutch in important moments (if your are seeing that your shoot aren't in so, increase your D... and being honest, this series could be 2-0 in favor of Miami, but that stupid arrogance destroid them) and gave hope and potentiated the feeling of "we can win all" of Dallas.
- And once again LeBron is missing in the last quarter
Hopefully this will give the Heat a little humility for the following seasons.

Going to AAC watch party for Game 6!
Fri Jun 10, 2011 2:11 pm
First finals game I've been sober for. Shame as its easily been the best finals since I've been watching the NBA. Great playing by the Mavs. Last year's finals also went home-road-road-home-home through the first five games which is obviously meaningless but shows this is still anyone's series.
Go Dallas.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 2:22 pm
73% of the teams that have won Game 5 to break a 2-2 tie have gone on to win the championship so history favours the Mavericks but I definitely wouldn't count the Heat out just yet. Great series, all in all it's been a great season and Playoffs as well so it'll be a real shame if a lockout ends up costing us part or all of next season.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 2:24 pm
Crazy shots made by the Mavs in this one. Two threes by Terry before the shotclock expired, and rainbow threes by Dirk and Barea. Intense Finals series so far. Nice to see high scoring offensive action for a change. Hope to see another intense Game 6, and I hope Dallas can close out the series then.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 2:27 pm
I still have faith in this Heat team.
I am going to my room now. kthxbai

So, uh, Wade mocked Dirk before the game, if anyone hasn't seen it already:

Laughable.

At least Dirk can perform well in the fourth quarter even with a fever. LeBron shouldn't be laughing or mocking him.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 3:08 pm
Come on. I think it was funny.

As long as those antics don't make them better and don't hurt the Mavs, I'm ok with that.
Fri Jun 10, 2011 3:21 pm
Ok, just for shits and giggles:
I saw Lebron before the game and asked him to break a dollar. He only gave me $.75 in return. I asked him for the rest and he said,"Sorry, I don't have a fourth quarter".
Nah, he had a pretty good game. People on the web are obsessing over his low scoring. But the looks he created for his teammates were most of the time great.

I felt like smashing my TV when Wade came out of the locker room & checked into game after sitting for half a second.
"That's great coaching."
Smashing the TV would have been extreme but it seemed like the right thing to do at the time.

His foot was inside the no charge zone...
...but wait there's more!
yeah, but it doesn't matter. did the legwork for you, and i quote from the NBA rulebook: "Any player may be legally positioned within the "restricted area" if the offensive player receives the ball within the Lower Defensive Box. "
thumper3662
http://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_c.htm ... rticleListAn offensive foul should never be called if the contact is with a secondary defensive player who has established a defensive position within a designated "restricted area" near the basket for the purpose of drawing an offensive foul.
The "restricted area" for this purpose is the area bounded by an arc with a 4-foot radius measured from the middle of the basket.
EXCEPTION: Any player may be legally positioned within the "restricted area" if the offensive player receives the ball within the Lower Defensive Box.
Secondary defensive player = help defender
In that play Chandler became the primary defender of LeBron and James did receive the ball near the 'Lower Defensive Box'.
