Sources: Rubio, T’wolves reach dealAfter two years of waiting, flamboyant Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio(notes) has agreed to join the Minnesota Timberwolves for the 2011-’12 season, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday night.
Rubio reached a deal on Tuesday, sources said.
Rubio, the fifth pick in the 2009 NBA draft, has been playing for Regal Barcelona of the Spanish ACB League for the past two seasons. It’s likely that the deal won’t be announced until Rubio, 20, finishes his season in the Euroleague playoffs later this month.
As it stands today, that would give them three point guards under contract next season (Flynn and Ridnour being the other two). Given the hype that was surrounding him when he was drafted, I'm definitely interested to see what impact he can have and how much court time he'll see in his rookie season, whether he can come in and immediately wrest away the starting job.

Finally, after two years...... ahhh.. Let's see what he can do in the NBA.

I heard Ricky Rubio is a great player so i wanted to see him next season! yeah

Finally Ricky can shut Martti up!

He's going to suck with the Wolves.

I hope he does well, and it will be interesting to see him play in the NBA, but I'm with shadow, he's gunna suuuuuuck.

When you can get a guy who averages 6.5 ppg, 3.6 apg with 31% FG in the Euroleague you gotta do it.
You never know if after ten years of being a loser choker he suddenly becomes a superstar who wins and wins and wins. You can't trust these Euro's. Look at Gasol and Dirk.

Nice. Even though his ceiling seems to be a poor man's Rajon Rondo, it will still be cool to see Rubio make it, after following his career for like five years. And no matter how bad he pans out, he's still a massive upgrade over Jonny Flynn.

Jamaal Tinsley?

I somewhat remember that triple double he had in his rookie year.
The NLSC forums cheered and rejoiced also. With people clamoring Lutz to increase Tinsley's ratings in the next NBA Live roster update. Point guard of the future Tinsley was.
Team chemistry is already starting to improve.

He's gonna suck!

Once he finds his feet & hopefully is healthy, he's an upgrade on what they got. Hopefully he has an impact on game defensively

I want him to be good but I have this bad feeling he's gonna suck. But if he's as good at distributing the ball like everybody says he is then he'll be able to survive the NBA. Idk about superstar but maybe he can be an impact player. There just aren't too many more internationals out there like Ginobili.

I can't believe he's got a 30-30 pic of himself. Oh Mr Love

You know you would too, X.

I'd like to think that I'd have a pic of myself with a stupid hat or making a weird facial expression whilst pulling apart imaginary steel (like my Facebook profile pic

).

That 30/30 pic emphasizes the stat-padding argument made by some guys here and there. While it's not right that he's stat padding, that pic is definitely dumb.

He's plays for Minnesota. He needs something to be proud of and keep him motivated.
He should make a
t-shirt of it imo.

Mind you, if trying to get every shot that comes off the rim is padding your stats, I think most coaches will live with that.

A lot of those missed shots are his own.

He doesn't suck right now?
He's going to get banged around by the physical NBA play.

Only seven players 6-10 or taller made more of their shots than Love.
And only two took more than 1000 FGAs.

that's what I think off first when I saw the Wolves drafted him while ago.He is a great point guard, but still too euro style.I think its better for him to stick around in Europe and become legend here, like Theo Papaloukas did.

He does. In the Euroleague and Spanish league, he has a lot of similar PGs, a lot of not very athletic white guys and he still averages just 6 and 3. He's gonna crash and burn against guys like Rose and Westbrook.
