It's obvious that the win was a result of Dirk imitating Kobe with the injured finger. It's always a good thing when you base your game on Kobe.

Just an incredible finish! Tremendous heart and effort by the Mavericks to come back from 15 down, they almost threw it away when they left Chalmers open but two huge shots by Dirk at the end there. The way the Heat were knocking them down from the outside, I wouldn't have been too surprised if Wade had banked that last shot in though.
As for the Heat, as Reggie might put it...

Credit to the Mavericks where its due, they've shown their resilience on more than a couple of occasions in this postseason but the Heat had this game. No way it should be heading back to Dallas tied at a game apiece but here we are. We have a series.

What the fuck? Am I drunk or did the Mavs just come bnack from ANOTHER 15 pt deficit?!!!!!
I think doth

Incredible game. When the Heat were up 15 I thought it was over. That was such an incredible comeback! Mavs limited their turnovers, rebounded, and got the stops they needed. It all almost went to waste when Terry played some terry-ble defense and gave Chalmers that three. Dirk's drive really bailed out that huge mistake, loved that last play cooked up by Dallas.

Now for Dallas to take the next three at home and for them to win it all finally!

OMG, superb game. Nice to see The Matrix on the offensive end, and Dirk, well... speechless.
Fri Jun 03, 2011 2:04 pm
Wow! A few bad possessions by the Heat and the Mavs were back in it just like that. You relax on them a little then that's your ass.

Cheers!

It's too bad that my girlfriend's still sleeping in the next room, so I gotta keep the nuts-going to a minimum. But I can throw a pretty good silent tantrum / joy seizure.

This could destroy Miami's psyche and had a swep in Dallas for a 4-1 Mavs coronation

Yep. Relying on threes is like fool's gold. I don't know why Miami went soft and stopped attacking the basket. Incredible.
No more questioning the Mavs heart & toughness after a win like this. All they have to do is win 2 out of 3 at home, and they'll be sitting pretty.

I thought Dallas was toast when they called that two time outs in the first, Heat dunking like crazy as the game goes on, and having that lead.
Then LeBron celebrated early...
That's what LeBron gets for celebrating when the game isn't over.
That inbound pass by LeBron to Chalmers was sweet though.

Are you serious? Way to motivate...

On a side note: Marion again is my man of the game. Sure, Dirk came up big at the end, but Marion kept them going when it was do or die.

Marion is speaking so fast on the press conference, but he seems to be a cool guy

Definitely his game. He's been so effective, doing things he can do (crazy floaters) and keeping the Mavs in the game. So far, MVP of the series for Dallas.

I'm being realistic. It's not often the home team wins three straight. If the Mavs are up 3-2 going back to Miami, you're telling me they can't close it out on the road?
Fri Jun 03, 2011 2:42 pm
Maybe it just sounds easier said than done. But I'm with you. 2 out of 3 in Dallas and then get back and erupt for another game like tonight's.
Fri Jun 03, 2011 2:55 pm
Both team played horrible defense in the last possessions but still great game.

And then... Lebron went into the "King" mode... a mode where he HAS the ball ALL the time, spending it and shooting nothing (or a desperate shot)
As I said, this could destroid Miami's psyche (specially Lebron's one and provocate a domino effect) or, this could boost the Heat to win the 3 games in Dallas (something possible for hard to do it)
Game 3 is key, if Heat wins, for me, would potentiate a long series... but if Dallas wins pffff, I think is ova.

Only a couple of times in league history, if I recall correctly. Pistons in 2004, Heat in 2006.
Fri Jun 03, 2011 5:39 pm
Conversely, the 1990 Pistons, 1991 Bulls and 2001 Lakers swept all three games as the road team.

He got lucky against the Magic in 2009.

Dirk!!! Great game and a huge run!! Now we got ourselves a series!
Fri Jun 03, 2011 9:21 pm
Just notice Wade & Lebron combined for 14 3pt attempts. Dirk & Terry combined for four.
