Carisle really lost a lot of hair over the last year. Thunder - Mavs - let's go!

Huge dunk by Durant on Haywood. It was awesome. His head was nearly at the rim.
Fri May 20, 2011 11:36 am
OMG my eyes!

That was sick. Then the refs had to kill it by giving him a stupid tech.
Fri May 20, 2011 11:38 am
Awesome dunk, no doubt it'll be on YouTube within minutes. Very weak technical call.
Fri May 20, 2011 11:39 am
Yeah, gotta agree. Wicked play and just as Breen said, you're allowed to say whatever you want after such a play & I have always been a fan of staring down a player after a dunk (also it has been forbidden a pretty long time ago).
Durant seems to be on a mission, Mavs have to keep their focus on offense.
Fri May 20, 2011 11:58 am
Awesome dunk!
Dirk and Chandler had nice dunks too.
Fri May 20, 2011 12:01 pm
Mavs is so much fun to watch if Chandler, Marion and Kidd are on, not so much if Peja and Barea are getting killed defensively.

Thunder bench playing really well atm.
Fri May 20, 2011 1:30 pm
Still gotta chance.

I doubt that the Mavs will come up with a win. Six down with under a minute to go.
Team defense has been a problem this game. It's not like a special matchup is causing problems, it's more a problem of slow rotation (giving open shots to Harden & Cook).
Jason Kidd had a big turnover when the Mavs were closing in and missed an open three pointer after Dirk's spin move which would have cut it to 3.

And Nowitzki chokes again
Fri May 20, 2011 1:45 pm
Westbrook sitting the whole 4th quarter
Fri May 20, 2011 1:47 pm
One free throw ended it. Don't consider it a hoke, but just the curse of the Mavs.
Fri May 20, 2011 1:47 pm
You have to give credit to the Thunder for defending well. Their bench was also very productive, part of it came from very poor D by the Mavs but still, very decent outing by the Thunder.
I think the Mavs can steal one in OKC as well, but it's obviously tough to lose at home. I just hope that James Harden won't have many of those nights as he was playing great.
Basically this game is about everybody else but not Dirk and KD. They will get their points no matter what you try to contain them. The bench & role players decide this series I guess.
Fri May 20, 2011 1:50 pm
It's gonna be hard towin one in OKC. They've got a great crowd, a great bench, & coming off a great defensive game. Still a pretty ood game for Dirk except for the free throw, & Harden was very productive. Will problaly get game 4 or 6.
Fri May 20, 2011 1:55 pm
Mavs can win one. They can win one goddamnit

Righhhhhhhhht! Yea it's the curse.

The ESPN crew jinxed the shit out of Dirk on that free throw. Long spiel about his free throw shooting before the first shot...oh, he made it? Let's keep talking about it! FUCK YEAH HE MIS-oh, we're supposed to be objective.
Oklahoma City basically deserved to win, but the Mavs can win on the road, and it's a similar rationalising process to what the Thunder probably did after Game 1 - that bench shouldn't go off again, Shawn Marion won't miss open five-footers and the OKC bench is not going to play like that.
Fri May 20, 2011 2:01 pm
It was a lot of miracle shots made by OKC too. Perkins made a 15 footer and most of those shots by Harden hose were tough shots.

The Durant dunk was well worth watching again. And again and again...
Dirk didn't choke, indeed he was the one doing almost all of the damage offensively for the Mavs. Yes, he missed that one free throw in the final minute but the Mavs were already in a tough position at that point, thanks in no small part to the efforts of the Thunder's bench. Speaking of that missed free throw though, was anyone else waiting for it to happen with the way Breen, JVG and Jackson kept mentioning the record in Game 1 and his streak that almost reached 40? Pretty much the kiss of death when it comes to streaks like that.
Great game, competitive to the end even though the Thunder ran up a double digit lead for a moment there and some nice highlights on both sides. Both Conference Finals are shaping up to be good ones, the ECF will be grittier while this one is going to be prettier offensively but they're the kind of battles that should be taking place with the final four vying for a spot in the Finals. Good stuff.

And also Jeff Van Fuckstick's giant cocksucking hypocrisy on Durant, that he should have "acted" to get free-throws, when he previously praised the refs for supposedly nto rewarding players for "trickery" (this was after Westbrook led with his shoulder on Barea and drew a foul on Chandler).

This series has been fun to watch. Both teams are getting their share of highlights. I do love the way Dallas move the ball around.
