Let me attempt to answer it for you.

The Mavs have no one who can legitimately guard Durant. But then again, no team in the NBA does. Nor do the Thunder have anyone who can guard Dirk, which also holds true for the NBA. I think that is a moot point. The Mavs team defense is what is going to win them the series. OKC is not a good 3pt shooting team, which will allow the Mavs to concentrate heavily on the paint, thereby negating some of Kidd's deficiencies on the defensive end. It's going to be a much tougher series for Dallas than the Lakers, since OKC has the athleticism to guard their 3pt shooters, but in the end I've got the Mavs. They are more consistent and focused than I've ever seen in the Mark Cuban era. I think we're going to see another Dallas/Miami final this year which I can't wait to watch.

Would like the Thunder to advance to the finals but unfortunately they will be outmatched by the Mavericks. Mavs in 7 and thats being generous.

Edit: OKC might do a little better than the Lakers did due to the fact OKC has a more talented, athletic pg in Westbrook.

Mavericks in five hard fought games. They're well rested, they're deep, they've got homecourt and they just did a number on the defending champions. Obviously the Thunder provide a different challenge and Westbrook vs Kidd is not a matchup that favours Dallas, but Kidd is a great defender and Westbrook could just as easily end up shooting the Thunder out of a couple of games. Even if Durant and Westbrook shine throughout the series, I'm predicting it won't be enough.

Mavs in 6. Marion and Stevenson are pests, so that'll bother Durant, and most likely, Westbrook will be covered by Stevenson.

I think the "Westbrook - Kidd matchup" gets too much attention. As it was said before, the Mavs play good team defense and you can compensate those one or two mismatches. Especially when you have your own advantages on offense (Dirk is as much unguardable as Durant).

I think the Thunder are a tough matchup for the Mavs, still I hope they can prevail and win this one with homecourt advantage in six games.

It will be very important for the Mavs to penetrate & draw fouls instead of going for the long ball all the time, because the Thunder definitely have better, quicker defenders on the perimetre and no team that is still in the Playoffs will rotate as bad on the shooters as the Lakers did.

Mavericks in 6. This is going to be a close contest in most of the games,but Mavs have the experience and can come away with the wins in the close games.

So Lamrock fucked up with using the right stats to support his claims again. Does this mean the Mavs definitely contain Westbrook and/or win the series? 'Course not, I still don't trust them. But way to back up a claim, just like citing the Mavs' overratedness due to "point differential", with limited-to-no backup evidence.
