Wizards rally late, Mavs barley escape

The Dallas Mavericks barely defeated the Washington Wizards in the season opener 91-94. the Wizards were down 18 at the begining of the fourth & Coach Carlisle decided to put Dirk on the bench. It all worked out fine, as Shawn Marion continued to be efficient in the paint, but then he got into a shooting slump. The Wizards went on a huge run and Gilbert Arenas tied the game with a layup at 91. Dallas then strugled to find an opening with time running down on the shot clock. They eventually got the ball to Dirk to Nowitzki who had gotten open off of a Tyson Chandler screen. He fired a 3 and it went in, nothing but net. Gilbert Arenas then missed the tying three as time expired.
