Howard headlines All-Defensive Team

The teams :

1st - Howard, Garnett, LeBron, Kobe, Rondo
2nd - Chandler, Noah, Iguodala, Allen, Paul

So apparently the coaches have not seen a Heat game this year. LeBron first team, really?

Lebron's an outstanding defensive player. He covers more than his man regularly and is great at help defense. His defensive win share was the best on the Heat roster who were a pretty good team on defensive end.

Good to see guys like Chandler, Noah and Allen in there. Some kind of variety at least. Kobe and LBJ ... dunno, I hate when superstars get hyped on defense.

Glad to see Noah make it, Chandler too. I thought Josh Smith would've at least made the second team; I'd probably switch Paul and Kobe as well.

Wait, the person on the first team you take issue with is LeBron?

Not trying to be benji-lite(maybe lamecock lite) but it's funny because Bron is 3rd in the league this year in Defensive Win Shares, only behind by Dwight and Garnett.

Not to mention his league leading figure in this year's playoff Defensive Win Shares.

Well-deserved berth by Kobe. He can SHUT DOWN a team's fifth option.

Any stats guru to help us bitch about the selections? At first sight Kobe over Iguodala is a joke. I don't have anything to back that up except that I'm a Sixers fan.

I feel Josh Smith should be on the all-defensive team. Atleast the second.

Edit: Kind of surprising Luol Deng isn't on there either.

Probably should be:

1st - Howard, Garnett, LeBron, Allen, Rondo
2nd - Bogut, Noah (listing him as a PF because I want to), Luolz, Wade, Paul

7/10 ain't bad. Kobe inexplicably making first team is wtf though.

Not so wtf to me: he didn't win a ring, so they had to give him compensation.

looking back, I would go for:

Howard, Garnett, James, Allen, Paul
Chandler, Smith, Hill, Wade, Rondo

Kobe would probably go on my third team (if there was one), Noah would be the 3rd team center. I wasn't able to fit Iguodala in because I really wanted Grant Hill there. Iggy's on my third. The only reason Rondo's on my second team is because of his enormous slump toward the end of the season.

Would be on my third team as well. They should have a third team, like the All-NBA awards.

my 3rd team: Noah, Wallace, Deng, Iguodala, Bryant

The first team should have been Tony Allen, Wade, Igoudala, KG and Dwight.
