I'm glad to see it, but once again I am biased in that regard. It does seem this one was decided a while back and I'm sure it will receive a decent amount of scorn and snark, especially following their loss to the Hawks in Game 1 in which he shot poorly. Nevertheless, while he wasn't the only deserving candidate I still feel he made a legitimate claim to the award. Given the way the first game against the Hawks went down, I just hope it's not the last piece of good news for the Bulls this season.

You know my opinion on it, but whatever. He fits some of the criteria and he deserved to win Most Improved anyway. Will be kinda sad if he's given the MVP then has to take a seat.

You're just bitter about the Blazers losing to Dallas.

MVP being eliminated in the early round.

I got that. I would have given it to Dwight, which would have been similarly depressing.

Should have won it the year they went to the finals

Dirk Nowitzki, the MVP of the most terrible season on NBA.

D-Rose deserved the award. Who needs a high fg % when you can close games like D-Rose.

atlwarya9's reasons are the best I have ever heard. More of that please.

Who needs a high FG% when your Thibs coached defense shuts down everyone.

Derrick Rose 38% fg 22% 3ptfg
Russell Westbrook 39% fg 32% 3ptfg

And D-Rose led his team to 62 wins and the top seed in the east. Thibs and the Bulls defense also played a huge role but still. What's your point? Don't just post stats expecting everybody to know what you're talking about? The MVP is not based off playoff performance anyways.

This blog offers a few thoughts on the struggles of Rose and Westbrook in the Playoffs that I'd say are on the mark. We tend to have very short memories online, judging whatever it is we're talking about by what happened most recently rather than looking at the whole picture. Rose and Westbrook both had great seasons, have a great deal of talent and bright futures ahead of them. They're not the first stars to have great regular seasons followed by less than stellar postseasons and they won't be the last.

The criticism of "Bestbrook" has nothing to do with first game of the Memphis series. It's been there for months, especially with Thunder fans.

Don't forget that Dirk struggles all the time in Playoffs.
